First Impressions

This month included an activity sheet and a welcome sheet introducing this month's contents. This month's activity is "Spreading Love and Light." This month's info sheet recommends acts of kindness for this month's activities and lists quite a few.

What's Inside This Box

In My Anaana's Amautik by Nadia Sammurtok– Retail Value $12.95

Baby feels so safe and cozy in his anaana's amautik, which is a pouch in his mother's parka. Each page describes the love he has for her and how being close to her body and feeling her warmth and movements makes him feel like he is home, safe and sound. The illustrations are beautiful in this board book, and I love reading this message from the baby's point of view.

Baby Dream by Sunny Scribens  – Retail Value $6.99

Baby Dream is full of adorable babies and activities babies might do before a nap or going to bed at night. Books with actual pictures of babies were always Ro's favorites when he was around 6 months old til he turned 2 years old, so I can't wait to share this book with Winnie in a few short months.

Discussion Questions

Little Feminist Book Club included discussion cards for each book. The messages this month revolve around rest and comfort. Baby felt safe and cozy in his mom's amautik, and the other book listed different things babies do before settling into a snooze.

Verdict

Little Feminist Book Club had really cute picks this month. I love the real photographs of babies featured in Baby Dream, and In My Anaana's Amautik perfectly illustrated a comfy, cozy baby being cared for by his mother. The value of this month's picks comes to $19.94, not quite hitting the mark of the cost of this subscription.

After shipping, this subscription adds up to $25.90 a month; if you're someone who doesn't mind paying the price for excellent curation and content, then this subscription may be worth it to you. The subscription holds a value that doesn't always monetarily meet its cost, but I appreciate the service.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.
