First Impressions
This month’s theme is “Self-Care Is My Obsession,” and it's a takeover box. We haven’t had one of these in a while! The highlighted brand this time is Olive Natural Skincare, which is new to me (I love trying new things). I’m super pumped to see the array of products that have been included.

I’m always happy to receive a day cream, and this one has a powerful formula that really works to properly hydrate your skin. It does have a bit of a paste / glue like scent that I’m not a huge fan of, but it’s not too powerful and seems to dissipate quickly. This cream is slightly heavier than I’m used to for a day cream, but it feels very gentle and even though I have sensitive skin, this hasn’t caused me any breakouts so far. It also absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling smooth and supple.

A solid night cream is a staple in my bedtime skincare routine. This lovely cream works while you sleep to rejuvenate your skin, leaving it soft and smooth by morning. I love the lightweight texture of this cream. It’s water-based, which makes it perfectly comfortable for overnight wear, and that’s coming from someone who tends to get clogged pores from overly thick night creams. I have to say, it has a pistachio type of scent that reminds me of a delightful baked good, and I’m really liking it.

Oh, I really like this Brightening Face Moisturizer! This product is a great addition to this month’s box. Whenever I apply this moisturizer, I feel like it makes me look more awake, especially when I have an early morning. I also have some dark spots from acne scars in my teen years, and I’m hoping that with some consistent use, I may see some solid results. The scent is giving me paste vibes, but the benefits of this cream is worth looking past that. Plus, it leaves my skin feeling buoyant when used on a regular basis so far, and I appreciate that I can use this in both my day and night skincare routine.

I’m a huge fan of facial mists, and I’m thrilled to see this Rose Water Mist Toner. Actually, I was just about to run out of my current toner, so this couldn’t have come at a more convenient time. Upon seeing that it was a rose water toner, I took a pause because rose water is my nemesis when it comes to scented products. I was curious to see how powerful I’d find the scent, and to my surprise, it’s pretty mild. I love spray toners as opposed to ones you need to wipe onto your skin with a cotton round. I apply this mist toner to my freshly cleansed face, before my serums and moisturizer. The mist itself is superfine, and it feels incredible on my skin; instantly refreshing.

With the chilly weather that we’ve got going on right now, I have been in some serious need of hand cream. This hand cream had a bit of a thinner texture than I expected, but I was incredibly impressed with how easily it absorbed into my skin. There was no greasy residue left behind, and it did leave behind noticeably more hydrated skin. I truly despise when hand creams have any sort of greasy feeling, so the lack thereof is an extreme win for me. One thing I did notice, though, is that the scent is less than delicious and reminds me a bit of paste. That said, the results the cream provides is enough to overlook such a minor detail.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times before: I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but I don’t like the idea of taking baths. It’s not my cup of tea, and that’s okay. For those who do enjoy taking bubble baths, this Relaxing Bubble Bath is sure to be a hit. With hydration-rich ingredients like calendula, olive leaf extract, and aloe vera, it’s got the power to deliver a mega dose of moisturization to every part of your body. So, while I won’t be using this lovely product in my personal time, I will be passing it along to my grandma, who happens to love bubble baths.
OLIVE NATURAL Smoothing Body Scrub, 200 g - Retail Value $17.99

Ohhh, I love a good body scrub. There’s no better feeling than sloughing off the dead skin from my body. This Smoothing Body Scrub brings a powerhouse formula along with it, including star ingredients like hazelnut, pistachio, shea butter, and olive seed to provide a most natural exfoliation. Thankfully, long gone are the days of those little plastic exfoliant beads. Ever got one of those in your eye? I don’t recommend it. But this body scrub is amazing. It’s a very fine scrub that feels gentle during use, which I appreciate, and it leaves your skin soft and hydrated and not at all dry or stripped of its natural oils; definitely a more moisturizing body scrub than some others I’ve had in the past. Despite the ingredients, it has a mild citrus-like scent to it that’s really nice. I’m thrilled to add this to my shower.
Verdict
This was a great month for Cocotique! I always love a good takeover box, and since this brand was one new to me, it was extra exciting. The highlight for me was the body scrub; it’s incredibly moisturizing and provides an entirely natural exfoliation. I love facial toners, especially when they come in the form of a mist, and this one is super refreshing. The brightening face moisturizer is my new go-to for those early mornings and works on dark spots over time. Both the day and night creams are great inclusions to any skincare routine, and I appreciate how nicely these two absorb despite having a more liquidy texture. The hand cream is perfect for this time of year, and I’ll be using this down to the last drop; it leaves my skin feeling smooth and not at all greasy. Lastly, the bubble bath is one product I will not be using, but I will be passing it along to my grandma, who is a true lover of baths, and it’s sure to be a hit. Overall, I thought this was a great takeover box with an excellent collection of products, and the value is certainly there.
