First Impressions
I have personally been a fan of Build-a-Bear for many years, but didn't actually create my own bear until I was about 16 years old. It seems I have passed my love of stuffies onto my boys whom have created a handful of pals in the past, but always appreciate a new friend. We were super excited to be given the opportunity to check out the Cubscription quarterly subscription and can't wait to share with you what we discovered.
This quarter's theme was "Pawsitively Delicious" and because we are big into baking, couldn't wait to dig in and try out this perfect winter themed curation.
Inside the Cubscription Winter 2022 Box
Included in this quarters box was a little booklet detailing (via rhyme) the items included inside. Charlie really enjoyed reading the poems and couldn't wait to get into the goodies.
Exclusive Cubscription Build-A-Bear Panda Bear
At first glance, I thought the plushy would be a bit bigger coming out of this box, but it turns out Charlie enjoyed the smaller size better as he was easily to pack it in his backpack. Being super soft and fluffy, Panda's little tummy was the perfect resting spot for Charlie on the couch after his hard day of shoveling snow. Maintaining the high B-A-B quality, the ears and feet feature a fun treat pattern, while the chest has a matching heart patch. Featuring the signature B-A-B patch on the hand, this little guy is very similar to the guys you would build right in store, but exclusive to this box. And can I just say that blue and white color palette is totally giving me frost vibes in the midst of winter?!
Multi-Purpose Bowl
Coordinating with this month's panda bear perfectly, we received a cereal sized plastic bowl that dons some of the same clip heart the bear itself has. Functional and fun, these are the sorts of items I personally love to see in children's boxes. While not dishwasher or microwave safe, this has been a hit among the boys for their morning cereal!
Silicone Spatula
Another useful, yet fun item we received was a nice sized spatula with the same "Pawsitively Delicious" quote and fun clipart. With a rubber feel, this spatula does a fantastic job at scraping out cookie dough from my Kitchen Aid mixer bowl, while matching the rest of the items in the box.
Measuring Spoons
We as a family have discovered you can never have enough measuring spoons, and with Christmas baking at hand, these B-A-B labeled ones couldn't have come at a more opportune time. The boys loved having their very own set, and honestly, I have grabbed for these instead of my boring plain ones too. Thank you Cubscription!
Plush Apron
A baking set just wouldn't be complete without an apron! Fitting Pandy (the very original name Charlie came up with for our new buddy, perfectly, this little apron ties the entire curation together perfectly. And how cute does this little guy look wearing his apron? He is totally ready for baking day.... but am I?!
Recipe Cards
The last inclusion was a set of B-A-B recipe cards. Our family is all about writing recipes down on cards and keeping them in a special binder, so this was perfect for us. Hank and Charlie kept a couple to write their pretend recipes on, while they gifted me the rest. Made from strong cardstock, these were really high quality, and stand out from my traditional cards, making the recipes easier to find!
Pandy was a great help in the kitchen and even helped us make some sugar cookies! <3
Value - Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $29.99 + $7 shipping
Value Breakdown: With 6 items in this box and a cost of $29.99 + $7 shipping, that gives each item an average cost of about $6.17. Not too shabby for B.A.B. branded items!
Key Takeaways
With this being our first experience with the Cubscription quarterly subscription, I have to say, my boys, (especially Charlie) were impressed. Being fans of everything Build-A-Bear, this was a really cool way to incorporate our love of teddies into everyday life. Overall, this was a very fitting curation for our family, and we are already looking forward to the Spring 2023 box!
