First Impressions
This month’s theme is ‘Wishful Moments,’ which feels like a lovely sentiment with which to wrap up this year and launch into a new one. The first thing I noticed about this box is that the product curation has been packaged in an adorable tin as opposed to the more common cardboard box. I love the tin. It features artwork that reminds me of an abstract take on our solar system, and inside one of the ‘planets’ sits the inscription, “Little Wonders Inside.” So cute!
What's Inside The Box
EARTH HARBOR Glow Juice Refining Enzyme Mask, 60 ml - Retail Value $40.00
I love Earth Harbor products! I’ve always found their formulas to play nicely with my sensitive skin. The first thing I noticed about this Glow Juice Refining Enzyme Mask is its gel-based texture, which I absolutely love. Gel products are always my go-to as opposed to heavier cream-based products. This formula works overtime with a multitude of powerhouse ingredients to resurface, firm, and cool the delicate skin of my face. What I especially like about this mask is that it can also be used as a spot treatment for uneven skin tone, and it dries down very quickly, which I appreciate. I’m interested to see how this works with consistent use because I have quite a few old acne scars from my teen years. When using this as a mask, it really does leave my face feeling quite refreshed. Plus, the product has a very clean, fresh scent that I don’t find to be intolerable. It almost reminds me of lemon Pledge; just not as potent. I’m a huge fan.
EVIO BEAUTY Hemp and Peppermint Lip Serum in Speak Up, 10 ml - Retail Value $16.00
Oh, hooray! I love lip serums, and I especially enjoy this Hemp and Peppermint Lip Serum from Evio Beauty. I’ve used this product at least once before, and I’m due a refill, so this couldn’t have arrived at a more perfect time. This serum has a refreshing mint scent that I really enjoy, and it leaves my lips feeling smoother than ever before after a few days of consistent use. Vitamin F is one of the star ingredients that works to help repair the delicate skin of the lips. This is just the thing I need during the cooler weather when my lips insist on chapping regardless of how much lip balm or lip oil I apply to them. I also enjoy the light color, which is sort of a natural peach. The formula is not at all sticky, but it does leave my lips with a tingling feeling for the first few minutes, so beware of that if it’s not your jam.

FIRST AID BEAUTY KP Smoothing Body Lotion, 28.3 g - Estimated Value $4.33
I love everything about First Aid Beauty’s products, and I’ve been following the brand for years. This KP Smoothing Body Lotion is made for those dealing with keratosis pilaris, and it works wonders for smoothing skin texture. I love how nicely it absorbs, and I haven’t experienced any type of irritation with its gentle formula. The highlight of this lotion is the 10% AHA lactic acid, which is what helps to gently resurface the skin. One of my favorite things about First Aid Beauty products is that they are fragrance free. However, I have to say, this lotion has a bit of a paste-like scent that I’d rather avoid, but with the results it delivers, I can look past that. Just something to keep in mind if you have an extreme aversion to scents.
KENRA Volume Dry Shampoo, 34 g - Estimated Value $4.31
Well, well, well, dry shampoo, we meet again. Now, this type of product unfortunately doesn’t usually work for my very thick, curly hair. Those with hair similar to mine will understand, but for those who aren’t familiar, my hair craves oil. While some of us need products to rid our hair of oil, others like myself are always in search of the best way to keep our hair moisturized. But I did give this dry shampoo a bit of a spray just to see what it was all about. I don’t mind the light scent of the product; it reminds me of going to a high-end salon. Plus, I can confirm that the spray is indeed invisible upon application. It also doesn’t leave behind any white cast. One thing I noticed, though, is that the formula feels a bit heavy, so I’m not sure how great it will be in terms of minimizing oil for those who are looking for that. It almost feels more like a dry shampoo-hairspray hybrid of sorts, which I found interesting but yet somehow counterintuitive. I’ll be passing along this product to a finer-haired friend of mine who will get more use out of it than I would.
PATCHOLOGY Rosé Sheet Mask, 1 pc - Retail Value $8.00
I love a sheet mask. Any time, any day. It’s my absolute favorite way to mask up and deliver an extra dose of self-care into my routine. As the instructions suggest, I’d highly recommend popping this mask into the fridge for a few minutes prior to application. Not only does it feel great but it’s instantly refreshing. After application, my skin felt smooth to the touch and was visually glowing. With the inclusion of hyaluronic acid, this mask packs a punch of hydration, while strawberry extract helps to ease your skin from the damage of environmental stressors, potentially warding off early signs of aging. I don’t know about you, but ever since I noticed my ‘11 lines,’ I gladly accept all the anti-aging products I can get. If you’re a sheet mask lover than me, then you know that there’s nothing worse than a dry mask. This pouch comes with so much additional serum inside that if you can find a way to save it, you’d have enough for multiple applications. I also found the sweet strawberry scent to be a nice touch, and it left me longing for summer.
Verdict
I thought this was a great month for GlossyBox! For me, the highlight was Earth Harbor’s enzyme gel mask. It’s so refreshing, and I love the non-irritating, gentle formula. Patchology’s sheet mask was the second masking option included within this box, and I’m a big fan of anything anti-aging, so this was another win for me. The lip serum from Evio Beauty came just in time, and I love the tingle it leaves on my lips for the first few minutes. The minty scent helps to soothe and smooth my lips better than a regular lip balm or lip oil. I love all things First Aid Beauty, and their smoothing body lotion delivers solid results as long as you can look past the paste-like scent. Lastly, Kenra’s dry shampoo… Although this isn’t a product for my kind of hair, it does feel like a high-end salon product that those with finer hair than myself will enjoy. Overall, this box featured a nice array of products from some of my favorite brands, and the value is there.
