"A Year of Adventure Awaits You" is this month's Vellabox theme, and I have to say, this quote totally encompasses my New Years resolution! Besides searching for the positive in all of life's situations, I want to pack in as much adventure as possible. As you may know, I have struggled with anxiety, especially in the last 5 years. Candles are extremely regulating for me, but big store branded candles left our furnace filter black and were way too strongly scented for my husband. After discovering this subscription and the quality ingredients, I am a convert, and couldn't wait to dive into this months box. Between the fantastic fragrances, the surprise gift, and the Spotify playlist, this box isn't just a candle, it's an entire experience!

I always find January to be the longest month of the year because the holidays are over and the Minnesota weather is usually less than ideal. This year, to stick with my "positivity" resolution, I decided to keep my Christmas decor up until at least the end of the month, and I've been loving it. Pairing perfectly with my cranberry and pine garland, this month's "Spiced Mule" candle is the epitome of all things Christmas. Featuring aroma notes of ginger, pine, rye, orange peel, basil, galbanum, tomato root, rosemary, and thyme, this soy candle smells amazing. It literally smells like the frosted outdoors, and is one of the only candles my husband has actually really liked (seriously, like in his life!). While the scent throw isn't as enormous as say a Bath and Body Works candle, it fills our living room perfectly and isn't overpowering. Made with clean soy wax and fine fragrance oils, this candle is phthalate-free and vegan. To top it off, the maker, True Hue, is based out of my home state! You Betcha!
I love the fact that this box features a different candle maker each month. Not only do we receive a background story on each candle maker, but we also receive a coupon code, and a QR code for easy re-purchase.

Wine is definitely my thing, so I was really excited to receive this set of drink charms. These acrylic discs are super classy and add a fun touch to the rim of a drink. Because they don't fit securely to the rim, these charms are more to "mark" your glass when you leave your drink than to actually leave on the side while sipping. My kids have decided because they come in gold, silver, and bronze, they will be the prizes for our family Mario Cart race winnings. Those Shirley Temples will be clutch!
Was This Box Worth It?

Vellabox continues to be one of my very favorite subscription boxes because they truly develop curations that are not only functional, but also useful and amazingly scented. Through this subscription, I have discovered many new brands that I otherwise wouldn't have stumbled upon. Overall, the candles are second to none, and the bonus items are amazing. $22 for a $24 candle and $10 drink charms - count me in! I can't wait to see what's in store for February!
