Petit Vour is a monthly vegan beauty subscription box. It’s a great box if you’re looking to try out new vegan and/or natural beauty products.

There are two subscription options to choose from. The base Petit Vour box is $18.00 per month and the Petit Vour Plus box is $25.00 per month.

This is a review of the $18.00 per month box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

When you open the box, the first thing you find is the information sheet, which lists the products included, their values, and a quick blurb about what they do. After that, you can always expect to find four products safely nestled inside the box waiting for you to enjoy.

Each month comes with an info sheet, and the other side of the info sheet always features a new art print.

The Breakdown - What's Inside My January 2023 Petit Vour Box

Han Skin Care Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Nude Rose, 0.23 oz - Retail Value $16

This is a lip gloss with a lot of pigment- to me, it's giving lipstick- lip gloss hybrid. It's made with ceramides, argan oil, and vitamin E, and the color comes from plant and vegetable pigments. This isn't my favorite lip glossy formula of all time (I found it to be just a tad bit thick), but I appreciated that this was a nice neutral shade.

Here it is swatched.

Earth Tu Face Balancing Face Serum, 10 mL - Retail Value $18

This face serum is made with blue chamomile, carrot seed, and ylang ylang, and honestly calling it a facial oil would be more appropriate. As a facial oil, though, this had a lightweight texture and I felt like it was soothing to my skin when I applied it while dealing with an active breakout (shoutout to that blue chamomile pulling its weight). I liked the way it smelled, too- this was a treat to apply to cleansed skin underneath a heavier sleeping mask for simple, nourishing skincare routine that left my skin glowing the next morning.

Moon River Naturals Peppermint Lava Salt Hand + Body Soap, 2 oz - Retail Value $5

This soap has a very liquid-y texture. That made it easy to get it out of the glass packaging (which is handy because it's not like you can squeeze it out), but it also made it easy to quickly pour out too much. For being a peppermint soap, I found this to be on the mild side (I like my minty products to be zesty and teeming with mint) which some may prefer. This soap is made with both black lava salt and a bit of activated charcoal, and it did leave the skin on my body feeling a bit tight once it was rinsed away.

John Masters Organics Hand Cream with Lemon and Ginger, 2 oz - Retail Value $16

Lemon and ginger are good for so many things- they're great in tea when you don't feel well, and they're great in hand cream when you want your fingers to smell fresh. This hand cream has a base of aloe vera and sunflower seed oil, so I found it to be lightweight and fast-absorbing. It smelled great, and I liked that it didn't leave a residue all over my phone screen while still giving my hands some extra TLC.

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $18

Cost Breakdown:

  • Han Skin: $16 → $5.24
  • Earth Tu Face: $18 → $5.89
  • Moon Rivers: $5 → $1.63
  • Busy Co: $16 → $5.24

Everything in the box adds up to $55, which is great for an $18 box that sends exclusively vegan beauty products. Alternatively, each of the 4 items has an average cost of $4.50.

Key Takeaways

This month's box from Petit Vour was yet another great fit for me. The first thing that struck me as I was working on this review was that everything I received was either full-size or travel-sized and available for sale at the size I received in the box. Not only does that increase the personal value of the box to me, it also decreases the amount of math I have to do when typing this review (wins abound!). I have been reviewing this subscription box for about two years now if my memory serves me correctly, and I like that Petit Vour continues to introduce me to new-to-me brands and products- John Masters is the only brand in the box I recognize this month. Petit Vour does a good job of sending out well-rounded boxes with nice values for under $20, and I appreciate the effort they put in each month (it never feels like filler products have been put in my box the way it can with other subscriptions). If you try to focus on vegan beauty products (or have a friend who does), this is definitely a box you want to check out.

Han and Moon Rivers are semi regulars for Petit Vour. I adore the Moon Rivers handwash as it’s super peppermint tingly! I also found the Han gloss a bit thick, but I’ve really liked their concealor from previous boxes. The hand cream was my favorite item in this box. The scent is divine!
