Love is in the air, and so is the smell of roses with this month's Vellabox. With the quote: "create space for peace, happiness, self-respect, and dance parties in the living room," I must say this is utterly perfect for the upcoming Valentine's holiday! As I have mentioned before, candles are a big must have in my life, as their slow burn and scent are regulating for me. I used to shop for candles choosing quantity over quality, but soon found my furnace filter in need of constant changing, and read about some pretty scary potential side effects. In an effort to be more health conscious, I switched to more expensive, but less toxic and carcinogen-free candles like they include in this subscription. Between the fantastic fragrances, the surprise gift, and the Spotify playlist, this box isn't just a candle, it's an entire experience!

Strangely enough, we are in the first week of February, less than 2 weeks away from Valentine's Day, and I still have my Christmas decorations up. I purposely left them up late because they are so warm and cozy looking, but am now in a panic of having no time for my few Valentine's decorations. This natural coconut soy wax candle is made by Sage & Bloom and features a cotton wick free of zinc and lead and has now got me thinking it's time to ditch the Christmas. The fragrances used are mutagen-free, carcinogen-free, phthalate-free, and never tested on animals. With beautiful rose gold font on a fresh and clean white label, the simplicity is gorgeous and goes with a variety of decor. As far as scent goes, the dark rose and labdanum gives off a very floral fragrance. Including pink peppercorn, grapefruit, plum, cumin, vanilla, and patchouli, it has a bit of a musky note that feels quite romantic. Perfect for Valentine's Day, this candle has quite the scent throw and lights up a room with its sultry aroma.
I love the fact that this box features a different candle maker each month. Not only do we receive a background story on each candle maker, but we also receive a coupon code, and a QR code for easy re-purchase.

"Keys to my Happy Place" Leatherette Keychain - Retail Value $14

I have to hand it to Vellabox, their monthly surprise items are always incredibly thoughtful and useful. This month, we received a light tan (almost pink) vegan leather engraved keychain. With a rose gold clasp (that totally coordinates with the font on this month's candle), this sweet keychain is engraved with the words: "keys to my happy place". With a look of quality, I happily exchanged this keychain with one of my beat up school ones, and discovered I was long overdue! A fun inclusion that is not only functional, but really quite charming.
Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $29
Vellabox is literally one of my very favorite subscription boxes of all time because they truly develop curations that are not only functional, but also useful and amazingly scented. Since subscribing, I have not burned a candle other than the ones I have received from this box. Not only do these burn cleaner, but they burn much longer than traditional big store candles. Overall, the candles are second to none, and the bonus items are amazing. $38 for a $38 candle PLUS a $14 keychain - count me in! I can't wait to see what's in store for March!
