Beachly Lifestyle Box Spring 2023
I don't know about where you all live, but it's been a long, long winter here. Not a ton of sunshine and lots of dreary and cold days. Basically, I'm over it. I need some sun and warmth back in my life and this spring's Beachly box was a nice teaser for what is *hopefully* soon to come. This season also had three different customization options, which I'm really loving. Having the ability to choose a certain color or style is a great option that not all subscription boxes have jumped on board with just yet. I also thought these customization options were some of Beachly's best yet. So without further ado, here are your 2023 Spring Beachly products!
Spring 2023 Customization
Have some thoughts on what you want? Here are my picks for this season's box, but if you scroll down to the end you can also check out my review on a few of the other options.
COCOCABANA COVERUP by Rays for Days (Customizable) - Listed Value $95
This item was one of the customizable options within the spring Beachly Box. I love that either option gives you an adorable cover-up rather than making you choose between two totally unrelated products. (I'm looking at you, sandals and shell clutch.) For this particular box I chose the cream and blue option. I absolutely love how classic these two colors always look together and I was really impressed by the quality of the cover-up as well. It's made from one hundred percent cotton and has a heavy linen-type feel.
The coverup is open in the front, has large arm holes, and a cute slit that goes up the waist. The only downside to this coverup is that it's not super easy to take care of. It needs to be washed in cold water and laid flat to dry. Not a big deal if you are at home and have the space and time to do this, but also not ideal if you are traveling and need to wash it before packing it up and flying home. Overall though, this is a quality addition to the spring Beachly box. In fact, its such a great addition that I actually added it onto my bonus welcome box that I was also sent...but of course, in the peach color this time.
COLOR POP TURKISH TOWEL by The Loomia (Customizable) - Listed Value $32
There is something about Turkish towels that I can't get enough of. The design and feel of them are just so unique. The moment I saw this was a customizable option, I knew I had to choose it! I have multiple Turkish hand towels throughout my kitchen and bathrooms, but surprisingly I do not have a Turkish beach towel! Well, that changed with this box and I have to say, I am absolutely loving the larger size of it.
It's soft, has the classic muted colors that are a signature Turkish towel design, and stripes that extend the length of the towel. It immediately gave me resort-like vibes from one of those fancy hotels on Miami Beach. You know the ones that all have matching towels for their guests and the kind you secretly think about taking home with you? (or is that just me?) Either way, I decided to snag this baby instead of the flor de amor tank as I thought this would be a better value as well. Maybe I'm just hard on clothes, but mine always seem to get holes in them...especially my tank tops. Comparatively, I've never had a Turkish towel get a hole in it. Suffice to say, it was an easy decision for me.
BODY SURF SPF 40 by Pursuit - Listed Value $35
This is a vegan, cruelty-free, and reef-friendly daily sunscreen that also feels extremely lightweight on the skin. I was impressed that it also did not feel greasy once applied. There is a light sunscreen scent, but nothing that is overwhelming...just the normal "I've been at the beach or pool all day" scent. The product says that it is a daily body sunscreen, however, the bottle is pretty small so I don't think you are going to get more than a couple uses out of this. At least not if you are headed out on a big beach beach day and need to basically cover your entire body. Nevertheless, its a nice sunscreen and I appreciate that it's 40 SPF as it's just enough to stay protected for a couple of hours but still gives the ability to get a small tan as well (at least for me!).
THE SANDBAR SEASHELL SANDALS by Salt Sisters - Listed Value $60
This customization was the hardest one yet. I really wish they hadn't made me choose between these two products! I love a beachy purse that I can use to make my outfit that much cuter and add a little summer flair to but ultimately, I can't say no to a new pair of sandals. Despite my dismay of being able to get both, I chose the sandals and am pretty happy with my choice. They actually fit extremely well, and are incredibly comfortable. The gold shells on the top straps are a really nice touch and I think these will look great both on the beach or poolside as well as with a pair of ripped jeans and a tank top. At the moment, it's basically a blizzard outside my house (so much for spring!), but I'm excited to wear these the moment it warms up.
They are not leather, but do have a leather look to them. I actually prefer this for any sandals where I'm going to be near water. I've ruined a couple pairs of Rainbow sandals trying to wear them to the beach, so I was happy to see that won't happen to these. There are two straps over the foot and a pretty decent grip on the bottom of the soles making these more than just pool attire.
SANDY TREASURES HAIR TIE/BRACELET by Ettika - Listed Value $18
When I first saw these in the sneak peak drops, I wasn't sure if I was going to like them. Beachly has sent out a few different accessories in the past and I always feel like they are really catered to a younger crowd. However, these passed the test for me. They are really cute and perfect for the summer time. Even at my age I feel like I can throw these on my wrist or in my hair and have a cute additional beachy accessory without looking like I borrowed a hair tie from my kid's friends. They really are perfect for multiple uses and these were a great little addition to this spring Beachly box.
TRES PIÑA TUMBLER SET by Island House Co - Listed Value $20
These are probably the one thing in this box that I won't use. Are they cute? Yes. Are they beachy? Also, yes. But, I'm at the point now where if I'm going to drink something, I want it in a real glass. And if I'm at the pool or beach where I can't take real glass, then throw that puppy into a solo cup and call it a day. Less washing when I get home, anyways. Plus, I find that these types of tumblers end up fading quickly or cracking in the heat. For me, it's just not worth it. Cute product, but a miss for me.
BONUS - BEACHLY WELCOME BOX
I was also sent the Beachly Welcome Box, valued at up to $475! This is only a box that new subscribers will get, but it also gives them a chance to pick out past box items. Everything that was offered were items that have been in the last 5 boxes or so. I started reviewing this box last spring, so there were a few items I was excited to choose and try out.
TWIN PALMS CARDIGAN by The Beach People - Listed Value - $119
This is a product that was offered in the Fall 2021 box and before I started reviewing the Beachly box. You can read my fellow reviewer's thoughts on it here! She seemed to very much like this cardigan, and I have to second her sentiments. It's soft, a little bit oversized for that cozier feel, and a nice grey color that you can match with pretty much anything. My only hangup with it, is that the sleeves are a little too short for my arms. It's not a total deal breaker, but if I'm using it to actually try and keep my upper body warm, it's not going to work as well as it could have. To be honest, I've actually had this issue with another one of Beachly's products, so I'm wondering if they are just not making these long enough or if I just happen to have really long arms!?
COCOCABANA COVERUP by Rays for Days - Listed Value $95
As I mentioned above, this was the other color to my original customization choice. While the blue and white was my first choice within the spring box, I'm actually surprisingly pleased with the peach version as well. I'm not usually a big fan of the color, but it looks really nice on this coverup and will look even cuter on the beach. Again, not the best for travel as washing it can be time-consuming and it doesn't fold up to be the smallest of sizes, but its the perfect coverup to throw in you bag for that last-minute beach day!
COLOR POP TURKISH TOWEL by The Loomia (Customizable) - Listed Value $32
Despite knowing that this was coming in my Spring box, I chose this a second time because honestly, you can never go wrong with matching towels.
FLOR DE AMOR TANK by Beachly - Listed Value - $44
Despite not picking this in my spring beachly box, I decided to give it a go for my welcome box. To be completely, honest, it's not my favorite. It is, however, extremely soft and fits well. The arm holes are a little bigger than I like, so be sure to wear a cute bra or additional tank underneath! It has a cute flower design on the front with the saying "Flor de Amor". It's a pretty baby blue color, however, I really am craving some color. C'mon Beachly...give us color!!
MONSTERA SWEATSHIRT by Post Surf - Listed Value $60
I actually received the khaki colored version of this in the winter 2021 box, but am more of a green/blue gal so wanted to choose this one and see if I liked it any better. It has the same monstera leaf design, but overall I did prefer this color over the khaki color. Again though, same issue with the Flor de Amor tank...its not a bright color and ends up still dulling out my skin tone.
Island Time Slippers by Island House Co- Listed Value - $49
Another Fall 2021 box option that I was, at first, really happy was offered in this welcome box. However, they fell short once I tried them on. The sizing was just a smidge too small and the slippers kept falling off when I was walking. A big bummer for me because they are actually incredibly soft and look cute on as well! These might be great for someone with a different foot, but unfortunately for me I won't be able to wear them and have already put them in my "to gift" pile.
Verdict
I absolutely loved the 2023 spring Beachly box. Between the customizations and the quality of the products, I really feel like Beachly upped their game this season. I was pleasantly surprised with both the coverup and the Turkish towel and I hope that similar quality products will be continued in these boxes. The Welcome box for me wasn't as much of a winner. I did receive another towel and coverup, (which were my favorites from the spring box), but the items are past items from other boxes and I feel as if they aren't up to the quality that the spring box was. It feels a little bit like they are trying to clear their inventory and using this as their way of doing it. I will be curious to see how often the customization options change for this box. Perhaps in the future there will be better options!
