First Impressions

This box doesn't come with an info sheet, but it does have a card with a QR code you can scan. The contents of the box are snuggly packaged. And it's always nice to see full-size products inside.

We also received these this foil sample from Celimax.

BomiBox "Aloe" Box Review

Pyunkang Yul Calming Moisture Mist, 100 mL – Retail Value $14.90

I’m a big Pyunkang Yul fan, and I was excited to see this moisture mist inside my Bomibox because it’s from the brands “calming” skincare line, which I haven’t tried yet (I’ve only tried products from their moisture line, and love most of them). This mist features centella asiatica, bamboo extract, tea tree, panthenol, and five different weights of hyaluronic acid. The product packaging has a nozzle that disperses a fine mist that gently settles on my face like I’m meeting a cloud, rather than a targeted stream (or worse, a hose…). I’m a fan, and this is officially in my rotation of skincare mists that I like to apply when I’m starting my skincare routine.

Hyggee Natural Repair Serum, 30 mL – Retail Value $16

This repairing serum feels super nourishing to my skin- it’s a great follow-up product after I spritz my face with the Pyunkang Yul mist. It’s formulated with antioxidant-rich ginseng extract (that’s 66% of the formula, actually), and it also features a botanical blend comprised of nutrient-rich ingredients like licorice root, green tea, and centella asiatica. This is one of those serums that I really enjoy applying because it just feels a little more pampering thanks to a slightly thicker texture that’s soothing as soon as I start to massage it in. I’ve used it in both my morning and evening skincare routines, and I think this is a product I’ll be using until the last drop.

Aromatica Soothing Aloe Vera Gel, 180 mL – Retail Value $14.30

I love gels with high concentrations of aloe vera (this one is 96%) because I use them as conductors for my microcurrent devices rather than paying $40 for a small bottle of serum. This gel is mostly aloe vera, but it does have some rosemary leaf water thrown in for good measure. Despite the brand name and the inclusion of the rosemary, I didn't actually notice a scent when I used this (and quite a bit was applied to my face since I was using it with my Nuface device). It feels nice on my skin as-is, but I bet it would feel amazing if I popped it in the fridge for a bit prior to using it if my skin was having a bad day.

Heimish Matcha Mini Kit – Retail Value $14.40

Honestly, Heimish is one of my favorite K-Beauty skincare brands. I was stoked about the cleansing balm we recieved in last month's box, and I'm happy to see this mini travel kit from Heimish's Matcha line- all of these products are ones I have never tried before. This set is going to be perfect for the trip I have planned at the end of the week to see my fiancé (I like that there's enough room in the pouch to squeeze in some other foil samples), and my sensitive skin loves that this is formulated with matcha green tea and probiotics.

SOMEBYMI Real Aloe Soothing Care Mask - Retail Value $1.10

Sometimes you use a sheet mask that's a dollar and you can tell it cost a dollar, and sometimes it has the same performance as masks double or triple the cost. This mask line by SomeByMi is the latter- I've tried a bunch, but I haven't gotten tired of using them. The mask material is very thin (which I typically prefer) and it is saturated with a good amount of aloe-infused essence that my skin enjoys soaking up.

Elizavecca Centella Deep Power Ringer Mask Pack - Retail Value $1.12

This mask by Elizavecca has the same vibe as the SomeByMi mask- it works just as well as masks double or triple the cost. It has Centella and probiotics (two ingredients my skin loves), and the mask material was soft and thin so it hugged the contours of my face nicely. If I was looking to buy a bunch of masks in quantities of ten, I wouldn't have any qualms about ordering either of the two masks sent in this month's box.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $44.99

Value Breakdown:

  • Pyunkang Yul: $14.90
  • Hyggee: $16
  • Aromatica: $14.30
  • Heimish: $14.40
  • SomeByMi Mask: $1.10
  • Elizavecca Mask: $1.12

Everything in the box adds up to $61.82.

Key Takeaways

I consistently enjoy my BomiBox subscription, and this month's box was really nice- I felt like it was specifically tailored with sensitive skin in mind, and that it fit the overall "aloe" theme well. I've been using the Hyggee serum, Pyunkang Yul mist, and Aromatica gel frequently since this box arrived, and that's a sign of a really successful box to me because I always have multiple products open at any given point- after I sample a product for a review I don't keep using it unless it's really working for my skin (or at least feels nice to use, since many products take a while to see true results from if the goal is anything other than instant hydration or soothing). While the value may not look super high compared to the cost of the box, keep in mind that the values need to be taken with a grain of salt because I have to get the values from websites that ship directly from Korea and they can vary wildly. I've been reviewing Bomibox for years, and I definitely recommend this subscription if you're a fan of Korean skincare. If you're looking for a monthly beauty box comprised exclusively of K-Beauty products, BomiBox is one of the best out there.
