Ipsy Glam Bag X is a quarterly upgrade for Ipsy members. It costs an additional $43/shipment for Glam Bag members and $30/shipment for Glam Bag Plus members. It replaces your usual monthly bag in February, May, August, and November. This bag "includes seven to eight full-size products specially curated by beauty’s biggest tastemakers and celebs" and allows subscribers to pick three items.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Items

My box arrived in its normal pretty lilac box. This delivery was curated by Bailey Sarian (GRWM+True Crime = Murder, Mystery, & Makeup, highly recommend) and included a newsletter-type info booklet with details on featured items.

FYI: I didn't make any choices this month! So everything below is from an assortment chosen by IPSY/IPSY's algorithm!

Let's see what arrived:

Drunk Elephant Protini™ Powerpeptide Resurfacing Serum with Lactic Acid, 1 fl oz - Retail Value $82

Oooof! Let's start this delivery off with a bang, shall we? I saw this Drunk Elephant product in the previews and thought there was no way it was showing up in my box, but look, here it is! And, sure, this is a lot of dough for a 1 fl oz product but at least the liquidy texture means a little goes a long way. And the ingredient list is killer. Seriously, look it up on INCIDecoder and be amazed. The main power players inside are a gentle but super-effective 10% lactic acid (exfoliating and brightening), loads of peptides (firming and plumping), and amino acids (soothes and moisturizes). If that wasn't enough, this little bottle also has hyaluronic acid, squalane, and so many different anti-oxidants. The more I use this, the more I am justifying buying a refill when the time comes. One note though: the packaging states AM & PM usage but I found this too sticky for AM. Stick to your bedtime routine before your moisturizer.

ODACITÉ Le Blue Balm, 50 mL- Retail Value $52

When they named this blue balm, they were being very literal. It is so blue! And so pretty! It smells like blue tansy and rosemary, an aroma that I find very relaxing and soothing, just like this balm. It feels a little lighter than other blue balms I have tried (I can think of at least 3 others off the top of my head) which might make it a suitable alternative for a wider range of skin types. When it hits my face it does look mighty shiny, but with some massage it absorbs into my skin, leaving behind a velvet finish. Inside are some really lovely things like jojoba, sage, sweet almond oil, and shea. And since this is a repair balm, you will also find healing and soothing ingredients like morning, tulsi, and turmeric. It works wonderfully as a sleep mask or even just a balm for the drier or irritated areas of your face. I also loved it as a cuticle oil!

iNNBeauty Project Green Machine Insta-Glo 7 Minute Mask, 1.7 oz – Retail Value $28

INNBeauty is such a fun brand. The packaging makes me smile and the prices are much more accessible than some other brands but the formulas work really well in my experience. This Green Machine mask is, indeed, green, both inside and out. In fact, there are 15 different super greens inside (think green tea, cucumber, holy basil, avocado, ect) paired with exfoliating and brightening AHAs and BHAs. In just 7 minutes my skin did indeed look brighter and less red. And for the cost of 7 minutes of my time? Thats a trade I will make at any time. Bonus points for the gentle scrubby beads too, as they feel great when you rinse and are completely biodegradable.

Voir Rhythm of the Rain: Hair Masque & Scalp Detox, 6.8 fl oz – Listed Value $28

I have been guilty of pretty much ignoring my hair over the last few years as it looks pretty good without much work and, frankly, I am both busy and lazy. Hair masks have been an exception recently, as they have near-instant benefits and don't add too much time to my shower routine. This one isn't my favorite (I adore OUAI way too much) but it is still a solid choice and can tide me over from buying a new one anytime soon. It has a mild, creamy scent and detoxed the scalp while also providing moisture and shine to my tresses.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara, 0.27 oz – Retail Value $28

I generally avoid waterproof mascaras, but as I have a few special events coming up this spring, I have found myself on the lookout. Luckily, this tube arrived right on time. The Better than Sex mascara formula is a cult favorite, but I have always found it to be a little too dramatic for me on the daily. I did take this formula out on a test drive this week and found that it does indeed stay put, pretty perfectly. I didn't have any smudging, flaking, or smearing. And I would venture to say that this waterproof formula is somehow less volumizing than the normal formula, which might disappoint some but I personally found as a relief. I still had long, curled, black lashes but I looked natural.

5 SENS Catch Feelings Eau de Parfum, 1 fl oz – Retail Value $65

As a perfume collector/hoarder, I am always pleased to try something new. And the notes of this one seemed promising: lychee, grapefruit, roses, vetiver, and suede. Alas, this one isn't earning a position on my vanity, though not because it isn't a perfectly pleasant scent. I just like my perfumes a little more complex and this one sort of all blends together into roses and leather. Which, again, is perfectly lovely, just not enough for me to dump my other faves.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Light Catcher in 'Celestial Light', 1 oz- Retail Value $43

It is always kind of fun when a product you don't really use ends up winning you over. And this powder is a darn dream! I am like 90% cream/liquid makeup based these days which doesn't leave a lot of room in my routine for powders. But this powder is magical. I would best describe it as some kind of powder+highlighter hybrid because it is packed with shimmer but also gives the skin a satin finish that looks incredibly healthy and dewy. It is pretty much the ideal product if you want to set your face but avoid looking matte or flat. I like a light dusting all over my face or I use this as a super subtle eyeshadow all over my entire lid.

ettika Hair Claw Set – Retail Value $45

I think we can all agree that the retail price on these is laughable, but aside from that I will admit that I use clips like this a lot. And the neutral colors in this trio look great in my hair and go with literally anything. These aren't quite large enough to capture all of my hair but are excellent for that easy half-up-half-down look.

Verdict

This IPSY Glam Bag X curation had a total value of $371 which is pretty darn impressive. And I really loved my curation. The serum and blue balm are a dream for my redness-prone and mid-30s skin while the green mask is an instant glow boost. I liked both the mascara and my new amazing powder, and I will certainly get use out of the hair mask. The perfume was nice although not a total winner, and I even added new clips to my arsenal this delivery. All in all, lots of value here and lots of fun and useful products.

My X was identical except for the hair clips. I LOVE the powder and now use it daily. The perfume had that old smell to it, otherwise I would have loved it. The Drunk Elephant seems to make my skin softer! I haven’t tried the blue balm yet. I’m afraid to try the mascara since it’s waterproof, and I don’t like my lashes falling out.

I’m really excited to try the Odacite balm. Unsure about the drunk elephant serum though… I already use and love good genes so I just feel like “if it ain’t broke why try to fix it”?
