First Impressions
This month's box is "The Eye Candy Box".
Made by Kinder is a new skincare endeavor by the fab team at Kinder Beauty. I was lucky enough to try their Starter Kit (pictured above) this month; check out my review here!
Kinder Beauty recently changed the format of their boxes. They have embraced a "choose your own adventure" approach (yay!), so now Kinder offers 3 base products, and you can choose one product from each of two categories. Kinder was kind enough to send us each product in both categories so you can better look at this month's choices.
The Choices
The first category included a choice of two products. Choose between Davids Sensitive + Whitening Premium Toothpaste ($10 value) and J&L Naturals Mineral Deodorant in Orange & Bergamont ($13.99 value).
In the second choice category, you get to choose one of three products including Bellapierre Cosmetics Pro Blush Palette ($25 value), Sukin Deep Cleanse Purifying Hair Tonic ($15.99 value), or Bellapierre Cosmetics HD Finishing Powder ($29.99 value).
My Choices
Davids Sensitive + Whitening Premium Toothpaste - Retail Value - $10.00
Maybe some would consider this a boring option, but I am always so grateful to receive fancy toothpaste in subscription boxes. I recently switched to a whitening toothpaste that has been causing some discomfort, so this came at such a perfect time. I love the fresh mint taste, and the fact that it caters to sensitive folks like me while whitening is perfection. Also, I have to give them props for their very cool packaging; the retro, recyclable metal tube and key look really cool on my sink.
Sukin Deep Cleanse Purifying Hair Tonic - Retail Value - $15.99
I've been very into haircare recently, so this was my second choice product this month. Scalp health makes a huge difference in how your hair lives and grows, so this easy step in my haircare routine was a no-brainer. Saturate the scalp and leave the product on for one minute, then shampoo; it's that easy! I haven't noticed too much of a difference after one use, but I am hoping this will eventually reduce oil. If not, I will just use it because it makes my hair smell amazing.
Laguna Herbals Eye Balm - Retail Value - $60.00
Eye creams, for me, never really seem to kick any bad eye behavior. I always lean purple under the eye, and the lines under my lower lashes are getting deeper and deeper. Sigh. I continue to use undereye products regardless, and this is a refreshing take on undereye care. I've never used a balm, but I love the emollient texture. It is soothing, and it glides on easily, so there is no need to tug or tub on that sensitive skin. All of its ingredients are vegan, and it has brightening and anti-aging properties specially formulated for Kinder Beauty. I've only been using this for two days, but fingers crossed it gives my under eyes a little pep.
Lavido Thera Intensive Body Cream - Retail Value - $19.00
Body cream is another product I just can't get enough of. I layer it on every morning and night; like Heidi N Closet, being soft and supple is my game. Since I am sometimes sensitive to tea tree, I am going to use this exclusively as a foot cream. It smells like the perfect blend of lavender and tea tree, and it really is a moisturizing and nourishing cream.
Purfect Liquid Mask Sachet Acai and Pink Clay - Retail Value - $5.00
Even though I have dry skin, I love using clay masks for their cleansing and detoxifying properties. This sachet was just enough to cover my face and neck, and the thin layer dried within a few minutes. I left it on for about 15 minutes and rinsed, revealing a rejuvenated and refreshed complexion. My face didn't feel tight like some clay masks tend to do, so I would probably use this one again.
The Verdict
This month's Kinder Beauty Box was even more awesome than usual since I got to pick two of my products. Subscription boxes that give their subscribers personalization options are my absolute favorites, even though Kinder was always one of my favorite boxes to begin with. It is so nice to have such a variation every month, and the brands sampled this month were all excellent quality. My favorite items this month are definitely David's Sensitive Toothpaste, the Laguna Herbals Eye Balm, and Lavido's Body Cream. This month’s box variation, including my two chosen products, has a retail value of $109.99, which is an excellent value for its cost of $26.
