Everyone knows Sephora is a beauty store where you can find almost anything and everything related to makeup, skincare, body care, hair care, and self-care, but did you know they also frequently release curated limited edition sets? Sephora's curated sets aren't new, and today's review is on the newly released Mini Mascara Lashstash To Go Sampler set. It features five mascara samplers and a voucher to redeem for your choice of full-size mascara.
FYI – this kit was coming up in my Sephora searches, but looks to not be carried anymore.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.
First Impressions
This mascara sampler set is packaged in a pale purple box with ribbons of purple and pink across it. The mascaras are packaged neatly inside, and the back of the box has additional information about the mascaras included.
Don't lose this voucher- you need it to redeem for your free full-size mascara!
Don't forget that every Sephora purchase comes with two free samples of your choice! Since this set was more than $25, I also qualified for a free GWP-I chose a mini of the First Aid Beauty makeup removing cleansing oil.
The Breakdown – What’s Inside This Limited Edition Box From Sephora
ILIA Limitless Lash Lengthening Clean Mascara in After Midnight-black, 0.1 oz – Retail Value $13
Certificate redeems for the 0.27-ounce mascara that retails for $28
This is one of my all-time favorite mascaras so I am always happy to see it. The wand has a dual-sided brush that does a great job of catching and separating every lash I have, and I’m able to give my lashes really great length, curl, and definition. I could apply five coats of this mascara and still never have an issue with clumping, and this mascara doesn’t flake or smear on me either.
Here it is on.
Milk Makeup RISE Lifting + Lengthening Mascara in Elevate-extreme black, 0.1 oz – Estimated Value $10 (buy the 0.14 oz version for $14)
Certificate redeems for the 0.28-ounce mascara that retails for $28
If you go through my MSA reviews you’ll find that I actually kind of hate the Milk Makeup Kush mascara with a passion- I was so excited when they released a new mascara. Rise works much better for me than Kush ever did in terms of function: I always loved the way Kush made my lashes looked, but then it smeared and flaked like crazy on me. Rise gives good lift and length to my lashes but not necessarily a lot of thickness or volume, but I don’t have issues with smudging or flaking when I use this which means I can safely reach for this mascara when I’m applying my makeup in the morning. I did have a small amount of clumping when I went in for multiple coats, but it was easy to fix.
Here it is on. The eyeshadow I am wearing is from the Beauty Bakerie palette from the February Allure Beauty box.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara in black, 0.13 oz – Estimated Value $12.23 (buy the 0.17 oz version for $16)
Certificate redeems for the 0.27-ounce mascara that retails for $28
This isn’t my favorite serum out of the bunch, but it’s a solid one that’s been around longer than any of the other mascaras. I feel like this mascara makes my individual lashes look thicker (which is one of the claims of the product), but it doesn’t necessary live up to the lengthening claims compared to other mascaras. The hourglass-shaped brush makes it easy to reach most of my lashes with one swipe, but if I want to build up with multiple coats I have to be careful because this is a formula that likes to clump (probably due to the part of the formula that makes your lashes look thicker). This doesn’t flake like crazy on me, but I do have small issues with fallout on occasion when I reach for this mascara.

Benefit Cosmetics BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara in Intense Pitch Black, 0.14 oz – Retail Value $15
Certificate redeems for the 0.30-ounce mascara that retails for $28
One thing I really like about this mascara is that it has the most flexible mascara wand of any mascara I’ve ever tried. It’s really bendy, and that allows me to get to the very root of my lashes and apply the formula in a way that gives my lashes lift. I find that when I use this formula, my individual lashes have more definition and length and my eyes look more open. Does that mean this gives me volume? Honestly, I’m not sure what “volume” means when it comes to lashes compared to, say, the hair on your head. But this is a really solid mascara that doesn’t clump when I apply multiple coats and doesn’t flake down my face, either.

Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Universal Volumizing Mascara in black, 0.1 oz – Estimated Value $4.07 (buy the 0.27 oz version for $11)
Certificate redeems for the 0.45-ounce mascara that retails for $20
This mascara is tied with ILIA for being a favorite of mine. It’s a little more new, but I’ve been reaching for it a lot ever since I discovered it through the January 2022 Allure Beauty Box. This does a great job of giving my lashes curl at the base so my eyes look wide awake, and my lashes look lengthened and more defined. The best part of this mascara is definitely the staying power, though- even when I wear it during a long (and hot, humid) day, it doesn't budge, smudge, or flake on me.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $28
Cost Breakdown: This kit costs $28 + free shipping, and I received $54.30 worth of mascara minis and a voucher to redeem for the full-size mascara of my choice that ranges in value from $20-$28
Sephora promised a value of $60 for this set, and the value of the mascara minis alone is only $5.70 less than the promised value. Then, you can add anywhere from $20-$28 in additional value depending on which mascara you redeem your voucher for.

Key Takeaways
I thought this was another fabulous Lashstash set from Sephora. While I had tried all of them previously, it was fun to use them and rank them knowing that they were all decent mascaras- it honestly just depends on what you're looking for and what your lashes are like. For me, personally, the Ilia and Rare Beauty mascara are tied for first place. Third would be the Benefit mascara, fourth would be Too Faced, and last would be the Milk mascara. I don't think you could go wrong no matter which mascara you end up redeeming your voucher for, but I'll be using it towards the Ilia Beauty mascara because it's $8 more than the Rare Beauty one. I do also want to point out the value on this set was fantastic- multiple mascara minis were the smaller travel-sized mascaras you can purchase in the same size from Sephora, rather than being tiny samples.
Other Things You Should Know
Can you still get this box if you order today? No, looks like this set isn't available anymore. You may also be able to find it at your local Sephora store.
Can the voucher be redeemed online? Yes! Sephora recently changed its voucher program to allow for in-store or online redemption. You can't redeem this at a Sephora inside JCPenney store, Kohl’s store, or Sephora Canada store, so the ability to redeem online is a great option for people who don't have a local Sephora but still want to take advantage of it (and when you do you get to add your two free samples to your order, even if you're not buying anything else).
Is it hard to redeem the voucher? No, but sometimes you have to enter the code a few times when there are letters that could be mistaken for numbers and vice versa.
Is shipping free? Shipping is free on all orders over $50 and costs $6.50 for orders under $50 (though you can usually find a free shipping coupon for smaller orders that will stack with other coupon codes).
