First Impressions

This box doesn't come with an info sheet, but it does have a card with a QR code you can scan. The contents of the box are snuggly packaged. And it's always nice to see full-size products inside.

Sometimes we receive a bonus sample, like this Heimish toner that I found to be soothing and perfect for my sensitive skin.

BomiBox "April Showers" Box Review

A'PIEU Kalamansi Cream, 50 mL – Retail Value $11

Kalamansi is a Philippine lime, and this cream is packed with vitamin C from both those limes and orange peel and mandarin peel oils. That’s paired with niacinamide, turmeric extract, and shea butter for a moisturizer that works to brighten dull skin over time. My skin can be really sensitive to vitamin C formulas and this one has a lot going on, but I didn’t experience any irritation. It has a refreshing citrus scent and a little bit goes a long way.

Nineless Essentials UV Shield Soothing Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA++++, 50 g – Retail Value $19

K-Beauty sunscreens are just formulated different. After reviewing the ingredients list, I am pretty sure this is a chemical sunscreen, but I didn’t have any issues with my allergies like I do with the chemical sunscreens I typically use. Along with whatever magical filters they use, this has three different ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and cica. It’s definitely a soothing sunscreen that my sensitive skin enjoys, and while it did take a little longer to rub in when I was done, I didn’t notice a visible white cast on my (admittedly pale) skin.

Innisfree Blueberry Rebalancing Cleansing Water, 200 mL – Retail Value $12.70

I’ve tried the cleanser and toner from the Innisfree Blueberry line, but this is my first time trying the cleansing water. I was happy to see it inside the box, as I use them on an almost daily basis and hate having to buy them at the store when I run out. This one in particular is formulated with blueberry extract, propanediol, and Centella, and I found it to be gentle on my skin as most cleansing waters are. I didn’t notice any particular scent with this, either.

Benton Air Fit UV Defense Sun Cream, 12 mL – Estimated Value $5.04 (buy the 50 mL version for $21)

This sunscreen is made with botanical extracts, Centella, and panthenol. It has a light rosemary scent and a light green color that absorbed into my skin with ease- no white (or green) cast here. I’m not sure about the science, but this actually felt a little cooling to my skin when I applied it, which was quite pleasant.

Blithe Tundra Cream, 10 mL – Estimated Value $7.80 (buy the 50 mL version for $39)

I’ve had a sample of this stuff before, and it’s pretty nice. It’s like a serum-moisturizer hybrid and has a cool texture that’s reminiscent of a gel-cream but firmer (think almost like a pudding). This is formulated with tundra chaga mushroom and cauliflower mushroom, which work to help the skin retain its moisture and elasticity. My skin always soaks this up and I enjoy using it- it would be nice to get the full-size one day.

Frudia My Orchard Peach Hand Cream, 30 g – Retail Value $3.59

This hand cream is made with shea butter, honey, and peach fruit extract, and this does smell like its namesake peach. I find it pleasant, and thought that the hand cream was moisturizing without being too heavy. I only need a little bit to take care of both hands, and I like that this helps me fight my war against chronically ragged cuticles.

A'PIEU Milk One Pack #Green Tea Milk and A'PIEU Milk One Pack #White Milk – Retail Value $2.10 each

These milk masks from A’pieu are probably my favorite sheet masks from A’pieu and some of my favorite masks all time. It’s something in that milk formula that always leaves my skin hydrated and glowing, no matter what variation of the mask I am trying out. I appreciate that they’re affordable, and the masks fit my face well.

Key Takeaways

I enjoyed this month's BomiBox subscription. As someone who has had to pay full price for micellar water in the past year because I needed more, I am always happy when a subscription box sends a full-size bottle my way. A'PIEU is a brand I really like and enjoy seeing inside subscription boxes, and it was nice to get both a full-size and travel-size sunscreen, too. While the value may not look super high compared to the cost of the box, keep in mind that the values need to be taken with a grain of salt because I have to get the values from websites that ship directly from Korea and they can vary wildly. I've been reviewing BomiBox for years, and I definitely recommend this subscription if you're a fan of Korean skincare. If you're looking for a monthly beauty box comprised exclusively of K-Beauty products, BomiBox is one of the best out there.
