Everyone knows Sephora is a beauty store where you can find almost anything and everything related to makeup, skincare, body care, hair care, and self-care, but did you know they also frequently release curated limited edition sets? They recently released a curated perfume set that comes with five perfume samples and a voucher to redeem for a full-size bottle in your favorite scent- once you're able to decide between all of the great options. This set in particular is definitely for the lovers of warm floral fragrances- jasmine and vanilla make frequent appearances in the descriptions of the perfumes included.

First Impressions
This set comes packaged in a light pink box, and tucked inside are five different perfume samples along with the scent voucher you use (both online or in-person) to redeem for your travel-size bottle. If you want to learn more about each perfume, there are additional details on the back of the box along with a handy dandy insert that gives a short scent description and even has space for you to write out your thoughts.
Don't forget that every Sephora purchase comes with two free samples you get to select (though whoever packed my order only gave me one...), and since this set cost more than $25, I was able to use a coupon code for a free sample of a Youth to the People serum.
The Breakdown – What’s Inside This Limited Edition Box From Sephora
Valentino Donna Born In Roma Eau de Parfum, 1.2 mL - Estimated Value $4.20
Certificate redeems for the 30 mL Eau de Parfum that retails for $85.
This perfume genuinely confuses me. It is packaged in the most beautiful pink studded bottle and described as “modern” and “feminine,” a “couture floriental jasmine trio twisted with an overdose of woods.” And then I spray it and I can barely smell anything- what I do smell just smells like laundry detergent: I guess it makes sense that the notes of blackcurrant and jasmine would create a clean floral fragrance, but I can’t smell any of the promised vanilla woods. If you're looking for a clean-smelling perfume that almost smells soapy packaged in a beautiful bottle, this may be the perfume for you (it is not the perfume for me).
Mugler Alien Goddess Eau de Parfum, 1.2 mL - Estimated Value $4.20
Certificate redeems for the 30 mL Eau de Parfum that retails for $89.
I was excited to try this perfume because it was one I had never smelled before, and then I read the description: jasmine, bergamot, and vanilla. If those sound familiar, it's because they're the same main scent notes of Valentino Born in Roma. When you consider the amount of fragrances Sephora has to offer, a little more variety would be nice here. There are some slight differences- where Born in Roma is more of a skin scent Alien has a crisp effervescence to it that makes this more enjoyable, but I’m not in love with it. To me, it’s a safe scent that almost anyone could wear, but it’s not going to turn heads.
Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum, 1.2 mL - Estimated Value $4.08
Certificate redeems for the 30 mL Eau de Parfum that retails for $95.
Libre has notes of lavender essence, orange blossom, and musk. I couldn’t really pick up the lavender, but the orange blossom and musk combined for a warm floral scent with more depth than your typical flowery perfume. This smells really sophisticated to me, and this is the perfume I reach for when I want to feel fancy and also need a confidence boost that certain perfumes just give you.
Viktor&Rolf Good Fortune Eau de Parfum, 1.2 mL - Estimated Value $4.20
Certificate redeems for the 30 mL Eau de Parfum that retails for $96.
Good Fortune is a relatively new launch from Viktor&Rolf, so I am all about seeing it featured in this sampler set. It's described as a classic floral on the sheet included with this set and a warm floral on the Sephora website, but I think she leans more classic. She has notes of fennel-gentian flower extract, jasmine, and vanilla, and the overall aroma is classic white florals with a tiny hint of warmth from the vanilla. Her staying power is okay- not terrible but nothing to write home about. This is one of those perfumes I think many people would like, but I don't know that many people would love. It's safe, a little basic, pretty, and a little boring. But hey, I own the full-size bottle after being gifted it by a friend so I wear it about once a week.
TOM FORD Black Orchid Eau de Parfum, 1.2 mL - Estimated Value $6
Certificate redeems for the 30 mL Eau de Parfum that retails for $115.
I was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed this perfume. It is nothing like the other perfumes in this set- this is a sexy grown woman perfume that makes its presence known, and I kind of love it. I don't have any other fragrance like it. She has a lot more of a complex scent profile compared to the rest of the perfumes in this scent- key notes include truffle, ylang-ylang, jasmine, bergamot, orchid, black currant, black orchid, plum, patchouli, and vanilla. The description doesn't explicitly say anything about black licorice, but there is absolutely a black licorice note to this perfume. As someone who considered black licorice to be one of the most disgusting candies of all time, I was so surprised by how much I enjoyed it in this perfume. This isn't an every day perfume for me, rather it's a date night or "I'm nervous and want to spray on some confidence" scent. I found the staying power to be great, too- I could still smell it on my skin hours later, which I wasn't expecting because many people complain about Tom Ford perfumes smelling great but never lasting. This one is lasting on me, and it is the one I ended up redeeming my scent certificate for.
Value – Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $72
Cost Breakdown: This kit costs $72, and I received $22.68 worth of perfume samples and a voucher to redeem for a bottle of full-size perfume of my choice that ranges in price from $85-115. No matter what perfume you choose to redeem your voucher for you'll save money off the retail value, and even if you choose the $85 perfume, that plus the $22.68 in samples is more than the $105 promised value for this set.

Key Takeaways
This was a fun Sephora set to go through- I didn't realize how polarizing scent notes of bergamot and jasmine and vanilla could be to me until I started smelling them in different formulas through the perfumes in this kid. I definitely don't recommend this set if warm florals aren't your thing, but if you do enjoy them I think you'll enjoy sampling your way through the set. I still would have liked to see a touch more diversity in the overall curation (it felt like three of the perfumes were super similar and then Black Orchid came out of left field from nowhere), but since you save money off of a full-size perfume no matter which one you choose, I can't be too annoyed. Pro tip- if you want to redeem your voucher for a perfume that is out of stock online, try searching for it at a local store using the "order online pick up in store" feature. Black Orchid was out of stock online at the time I was looking to redeem my voucher but in-stock at my local Sephora, so I placed the online order and hopped over to the store to secure my new perfume.
Other Things You Should Know
Can you still get this box if you order today? Yes, this set is still available.
Can the voucher be redeemed online? Yes! Sephora recently changed its voucher program to allow for in-store or online redemption. You can't redeem this at a Sephora inside JCPenney store, Kohl’s store, or Sephora Canada store, so the ability to redeem online is a great option for people who don't have a local Sephora but still want to take advantage of it (and when you do you get to add your two free samples to your order, even if you're not buying anything else).
Is it hard to redeem the voucher? No, but sometimes you have to enter the code a few times when there are letters that could be mistaken for numbers and vice versa.
Is shipping free? Shipping is free on all orders over $50 and costs $6.50 for orders under $50 (though you can usually find a free shipping coupon for smaller orders that will stack with other coupon codes)
