After re-reading my last month's review, Mother Nature was all about the snow, and sadly, some things just haven't changed. With a blizzard warning in effect, the beginning of April looks like it's going to start out looking more like January. Because we will be holed up in our house for the sleet/snow/rain mix, you can bet we plan on lounging in our PJ's enjoying some much needed family time. As a pick me up, I found this month's Vellabox on my doorstep. What a fantastic surprise for our low key and snuggly day! Including a quote about clean slates, this box was exactly what I needed to help me through the month. Large in size and health conscious, this subscription includes a candle that lasts me literally the entire month and is suited perfectly to my fragrance desires. Not only are the scents fantastic, but they also include a surprise gift and Spotify playlist, creating not just a box, but an entire experience!

Like I mentioned above, we are still fighting blizzards here up in Minnesota but our spring cleaning sesh is in full effect. About 10 years ago, my husband single handedly gutted and remodeled our 1920's farmhouse, and it is in dire need of a new coat of paint. After a painstakingly long day of painting, I carried this 16 ounce beaut to the bathroom and sat back and relaxed in a hot bubbly bath. With notes of peppercorn, tobacco, honeycomb, teakwood, and sandalwood, this is the epitome of nature and one of my favorite combinations of all time. Though the scent throw isn't as strong as some of the other candles I have received, it was perfect for our small bathroom and really created an ultra soothing atmosphere. I love the fact that this box features a different candle maker each month. Not only do we receive a background story on each candle maker, but we also receive a coupon code, and a QR code for easy re-purchase.

Macrame Plant Hanger - Retail Value $12

Right on trend, Vellabox's surprise macrame plant holder was one that fits everything I have pinned on Pinterest. Smallish in size, this would be perfect to hang by my kitchen window, though I discovered none of my current plant pots fit. A suggestion listed on the info card mentioned planting a succulent in the candle jar once the candle was burned. I decided to try it out for size, and it was perfect! I can't wait to check out our local greenhouse for a new little friend and add this fun accessory.
Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $38
Vellabox is seriously one of my very favorite subscription boxes of all time because their simplistic design coupled with their high quality candles and extra gifts are amazing and functional. Since starting this subscription, these are honestly the only candles I burn. $38 for a candle that lasts the entire month, plus an on trend (and useful) bonus gift - count me in! I can't wait to see what's in store for May! Hopefully it is paired with less snow!
