First Impressions
My box arrived bursting with so many new and cool finds; everything was packaged securely with packing materials that are made from 100% recycled materials.
This booklet has some of the answers to the questions you might have about the products included in this quarter's box. It is a fun and colorful read, and I like that they include tips for how to incorporate your new stuff into your day-to-day life. For more information on each item and its uses, click here.
What's Inside This Box
W&P Porter Snack Bag in Blush - Retail Value - $10.00
I've come to love having silicone, reusable bags to house my snacks and other random belongings. This bag is a different style than my go-to Stasher bags, but I love the shape. I also really like that the front is transparent, while the back adds a little mystery. This ten-ounce bag is dishwasher, freezer, and microwave safe.
Soom Premium Tahini - Retail Value - $8.50
Since I am the only one in my house that appreciates tahini, I get this entire jar to myself! I can't say that for a lot of my snacks, so this is an exciting moment for me. I went in for a taste while unboxing, and I spilled a little on this month's delivery, oops, but luckily, I only got it on myself and this month's box. I love including this creamy superfood in sauces, but I just read a cake recipe the other day that called for tahini; kismet!
Soom Silan Date Syrup - Retail Value - $9.50
Honestly, I never knew date syrup existed until I saw a jar recently at Trader Joe's. I love dates, so I picked it up, and it has been a game-changer in my smoothies. It provides subtle sweetness and wholesomeness that is hard to describe, but it is tasty. I also use this in my son's oatmeal, and I haven't heard any complaints about it from my picky eater. This syrup's only ingredient is dates, with no added sugars or preservatives, definitely a win!
Kinder Beauty Silicone Baking Mold for 12 Cookie Bars - Retail Value - $14.00
Another kismet finding! Since I found the recipe for Ted Lasso's famous biscuits, I have been dying to make them, but I needed a vessel to bake them in. Silicone baking molds are awesome because they are nonstick, and after you're done, you can just pop them in the dishwasher. No more scrubbing the nooks and crannies of my nonstick muffin pan!
Ursa Major Fortifying Face Balm - Retail Value - $38.00
When I think of a balm, I think of a thick salve or ointment, so I was not expecting this face balm to be such a wet, watery texture. My first impression with this was "wow, this smells amazing". It has a masculine scent that sticks around for a while, and even though I am typically sensitive to fragrance, I thought I'd take the risk. Despite its texture, it provides ample hydration thanks to its key ingredients olive, aloe, willow bark, and kendi seed. I like the way it sits on my skin, providing a nice canvas for makeup or as a soothing last step in my nighttime skin regimen.
LA Sol Clear Mineral Zinc Sunscreen SPF 30 - Retail Value - $24.99
It is so hard to find a zinc sunscreen that isn't stark white and gloopy or thick. This has the best texture, doesn't leave a white cast, and makes my skin feel so soft and nourished. Zinc is my favorite ingredient for sun protection because it is gentle enough for the kids, it has never made my eyes burn, and it leaves my skin feeling soft and never greasy or sticky. This is one of the better formulas I've found, and it came just in time for vacation.
Daily Concepts Leaves of Life Silicone Scrubber - Retail Value - $20.00
It was four years ago when I discovered this type of product existed, and four years ago I knew I needed one of these. Well, now that I have one, I can never look back. My feet are thanking me because they have never felt so clean. This scrubber feels amazing on the tooties, and it exfoliates every nook and cranny without having to even bend down or reach for your toes. It stays in place while you scrub, and the sensation is borderline tickly but overall, it is a gentle and thorough massage for the feet.
Le Joyau d'Olive Luxury Soap - Orange Blossom & Olive Breeze - Retail Value - $34.00
Nothing feels better than getting a hot shower and using a soap that cleanses your skin but leaves it feeling so supple and nourished that you can forego moisturizing. There aren't many out there that can pull this off, but Le Joyau d'Olive bar soap is perfection. This is not your grandma's bar soap! Not only does it feel like a spa treatment, but it smells beautiful, too. There is not a world today where I can justify $17 for a bar of soap, so I will cherish these while they last; that's the beauty of subscription boxes.
United by Blue 22oz Insulated Steel Bottle - Retail Value - $34.00
This is a heavy-duty water bottle. It is double insulated using 100% recyclable BPA-free stainless steel, so it will keep your hot things hot and your cold things cold. Its lid is vacuum sealed for extra spill resistance, and it is accessorized by a handy side clip. I was looking around United by Blue's website, and I can't unsee the beautiful mugs and socks they are selling. I will definitely be revisiting them in a few months for some holiday shopping.
Waterdrop Microdrink Taster Pack - Retail Value - $23.00
I've always been so curious about these. Like everyone else on this planet, I struggle to drink water throughout the day. 9pm rolls around and I realize that I've only had about 30 oz, and that's the reason for my sluggishness and impending headache. Waterdrops will make this journey for hydration a lot less tedious because sometimes just plain water is boring, and I dread forcing myself to drink it. Not to mention, each cube has added benefits like vitamins and minerals pertaining to its "flavor"; there are six different varieties sampled including Focus, Boost, Glow, Love, Youth, and Zen.
One little cube will flavor 15-20oz of water making it more enjoyable to drink. I tried the youth variety with a peach flavor, and I was impressed by the subtle and pleasant taste.
The Verdict
The first KND by Kinder Beauty Box was another exemplary collection consisting of so many high-quality vegan, non-toxic, and cruelty-free finds. I can't help but wonder if the curator at KND was reading my mind for this quarter's delivery? If so, keep it coming! I was impressed with each selection, but I am especially excited about my new foot scrubber and luxury bars of soap. This month’s box has a retail value of $215.99, which is an outstanding value for its cost of $64.95.
