Love Goodly is a non-toxic and cruelty-free vegan subscription box that sends a mix of 4-5 full-size beautywellness, and lifestyle items every other month for $34.95 (with free shipping). They also offer a VIP subscription for $48.95, which comes with an additional full-size product (or two). Every purchase supports a different cause each month.

This review is for the VIP subscription for $48.95 every other month.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Note to Canadian Customers: "As of October 28, 2022: At this time, we have paused shipping our bi-monthly subscription boxes and prepaid box plans to Canada; however, you can still purchase the Single Essential or Single VIP Box to ship to Canada. Current active Canada customers are not affected."

Inside the June/July 2023 Box

Love Goodly items always come packed neatly in a small cardboard box, with recyclable paper sizzle padding the items. It's a simple but thoughtful presentation. Beauty-lovers who have their finger on the pulse of current brands will spot some high value items peeking out of the curation. I'm so excited to dig in!

Info about each product is listed inside the folded card. Here you'll also find info about which charity this month's box supports, plus a 15% a discount code for purchases made from their shop. I mentioned in my last review, two months ago, that their shop was temporarily closed as they transferred inventory to the NOVICA warehouse. According to their site, this process is still underway. When it's back up and running you'll notice each month's items show up in their shop shortly after the box begins shipping. In the meantime, if you know you want to stock up on more of any product from this month's box, you could buy a gift card with your discount to use later!

Chiky Botanica Plant Alchemy Luxe Facial Oil, 1 oz – Retail Value $58

The first item in the Love Goodly box for summer is this serum from Chiky Botanica. Everything about it is gorgeous, from the retro botanical label to the color of the oil itself. This herb-infused oil is light and absorbent, smells divine with an earthy floral aroma, and it's filled to the brim with organic ingredients that provide hydrating antioxidants. It can be used morning and night. The retail value of this oil alone is higher than the cost of the Essential and VIP boxes alike, which you'll find is a theme of this box!

Fleur & Bee Eyes Eyes Baby Anti-Aging Eye Cream, 0.6 oz – Retail Value $52

Next up is a firming eye cream from Fleur & Bee that also retails higher than both Love Goodly tiers. Say what! It's another morning-and-night skin nourishment tool that counteracts puffiness, fine lines, and dark circles. I'm always so torn as I list the ways anti-aging beauty products are meant to smooth out our signs of maturity, as I find those details to be beautiful on a person, but I also think that using gentle, clean products to help us feel and look fresh and rested are worthwhile. This one uses caffeine and peptides with potent antioxidants and moisturizing squalane to do the job!

Love + Chew The Superfood Cookie, Chocolate Chia – Retail Value $1.75

I'm easily won over with a snack! This superfood cookie is soft and chewy, with a great texture and chocolatey flavor. It does taste like hippie food a bit, but that's something I'm very used to, because as an owner of a desperate sweet tooth, I often look for healthier treats to bake. This one compares to any nutty chia chocolate chip cookie I may have made, but without the effort. Love it for on-the-go!

Every member of my family wanted a taste, and while my young kids were so-so about it, my husband and I couldn't believe how good and not-processed it tasted. I love that there's protein in here, but it comes from almonds and chia seeds instead of protein powder. Yum! Definitely would eat these again!

Waterdrop Microdrink Taster 4-Pack – Buy a 6-pack for $23

Since summer break hit, I have been festively pouring myself a glass of wine to sip while I cook dinner with increasing regularity. I realized I was starting to feel drained! These flavored water tablets came at the perfect time—they add interest to my sipping without dehydrating me or the like. We received 4 different flavors, each with 3 tablets in the Essential box, and they all have slightly different flavors and essences to promote whatever we need. An energy boost, a sense of peace, or focus—all come by way of natural fruit and plant extracts, have no preservatives or artificial flavors, and they're sugar-free. They also come in sustainable packaging!

Here I'm dissolving and drinking a Zen drop, which has the bright, citrusy flavor of star fruit touched with thyme and lemongrass. The taste was very faint, but delightfully complex considering. When my husband came home from work and saw me drinking it, he actually thought it was white wine, which made me chuckle. The fake-out wasn't intentional, but I'm sure there's something to the psychology there! I'm really enjoying these flavored water drops.

Fleur & Bee Nectar of the C Serum, 1 fl oz –  Retail Value $60

Finally, VIP subscribers get a bonus Fleur & Bee product, this Vitamin C serum, which, yet again, is a higher retail value than either Love Goodly subscription. I know Love Goodly had been receiving subscriber feedback for more high-value beauty brands, and I love that they listened in a big way here. This serum is a thicker, more viscous consistency and it's meant to brighten and plump the skin, fade discoloration, and even skin tone. It's got some powerhouse ingredients there, including vitamin C, vitamin E, squalane, and hyaluronic acid.

How many serums to do you have in your rotation at any given time? I wash my face and care for it with the incredible, quality, nourishing products from Love Goodly every morning, and I'm getting better about washing my face more consistently in the evening—though in summertime, our family's rhythm changes and I'm loose about all my routines. The products from this month especially are so outstanding that I want to keep up with using them. Are you a VIP subscriber? Will you use one serum in the morning and the other in the evening? Will you share one? Save one for later? I need ideas!

Verdict

Love Goodly subscribers asked to see more high-value beauty brands in their boxes, and LG delivered in a huge way this month! Subscribers to the Essential box are receiving 2 items with a value that exceeds the cost of the box, and VIPs receive a third. Skyrocketed value aside, Love Goodly always and forever hooks us up with quality products that are thoughtfully made and packaged, and well-curated so that they make sense together. Knowing I can count on every single item to be non-toxic, vegan, and cruelty-free goes a long way, and I love learning about new beauty brands through them. I've always been fond of this box and always will be.

To Wrap Up

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, sign up today to receive this box. The August/September 2023 box renews on July 28, 2022.

Value Breakdown: The Love Goodly bi-monthly VIP box costs $48.95 + free US shipping. VIP subscribers received 5 items this month (counting the 4-pack of Water Drops as 1). That breaks down to $9.79 per item. The only thing that feels very steep for is the cookie, but the beauty products come in at such a steal that it equals out. The total retail value I calculated for the VIP box is $194.75. Whew! This is thanks to three high-value items in here! For regular non-VIP subscribers, the promised value is $101+, and my calculations came in at $134.75 (which includes a slightly inflated cost for the Water Drops, as I could only find a 6-pack rather than a 4-pack.) Either way, I'm super happy with this value, and I think other regular Love Goodly subscribers will be too!
