Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. When you sign up, you take an in-depth survey of your sizes, your style, and your pricing preferences. After choosing when you’d like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks five items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. Let's take a look at this month's selections, shall we?
What's Inside This Month's Fix
Kristin Knit Cutout Back Fitted Dress by Heatherly, Size 3x — Retail Value $54.00
A black dress is a great staple piece to have in one's wardrobe. This one is not your basic LBD, though, due to the flirty cut out in the back. I actually like the cut out on the back of this dress because it hits right under the bra and right above my underwear line. I can easily wear my undergarments without any issues of them being exposed. The fabric isn't too light or heavy weight, very idea for summer weather. One could rock this in the fall time with fishnets, booties and a faux leather biker jacket as well. I regret not flipping this dress around to see if it is looked cute with a bell cut out as well-- darn! I did some effortless styling with my latest go tos: pink and red checkered hoops from Blush Daisy, Pink Mega Crush Crocs sandals, and Iris Apfel x Zenni glasses. I love the pops of pink against the black!
Tied to You Knit Tank by Sanctuary, Size 2x-Retail Value $48.00
My stylist, Jami, has gotten a feel for my style. I love bold colors and prints, so this top was a must. I love the pops of lime, fuschia, and aqua on this abstract floral print top. The fabric is a light stretchy cotton which is fantastic for our hot, hot weather! The faux tie at the bottom makes this casual, but nicely accentuates the midsection. I did simple styling and paired the top with some comfy bike shorts, my aforementioned Crocs and these abstract glitzy earrings from Fairly Odd Shop to bring out the shade in the top. This would also look great with dress pants for work with a cardigan layered.
Beatriz Sleeveless Midi Dress by 41 Hawthorn, Size 3x, — Listed Value $78
I apologize in advance how much my bra hangs out in the back of this dress. I wasn't completely aware until AFTER taking pictures. Try to look past this error and imagine this with a better fitting strapless bra, if you will! This dress certainly fits and fairly well due to the smocking. The back, though, simultaneously, seems too loose due to the smocking! The spaghetti straps on this dress are so thin and give little support. I do think this dress would be great in the fall months worn over a turtleneck and with Mary Jane shoes or ankle booties. Did I happen to mention... IT HAS POCKETS?!
Radiant River Top by Lost+ Wander in Mint, Size 2x, — Listed Value $78
I wanted to see if this top could be worn with my nudge bra-- that is a big a no. If you do have the right bra, this top could be precious! My stylist sent me a 2x and I was concerned it wouldn't fit since the fabric is almost like a poplin. The smocking on the back ensured it fit well! I love the pastel, psychedelic fabric of this piece. It is definitely on-brand for me. I paired it with the Les Serein shorts Jami sent as well. I am all about pattern clashing, but I don't think these worked terribly well together. I would instead pair this top with a similar green, baggier-legged pant and the same pink Melissa brand shoes. This top could also look great with a light-to-medium wash pair of jeans and embellished sandals for a cute, but casual Y2K-inspired look!
Tina Extra High Rise Short by Les Serein, Size 3x — Retail Value $38
Finally, we have these bright, vivacious, floral shorts from Les Serein. I wanted to like these, but the fabric was the biggest issue. They are light weight and a satin/silk like fabric with no stretch. The ruffles were a cute detail, but I kept finding myself digging these shorts constantly. I was not comfortable in them and a bit self-conscious. I wish they had a baggier fit or where a stretchier/more body hugging material. These would look fantastic with a pink or orange plunge neck top, platform wedges, and a large brimmed hat for an extremely summery ensemble.
The Verdict
This month's Stitch Fix had some awesome pieces! Jami sent some very bold and bright items ready for the summer months. I was excited to see so many prints this time! I didn't keep any items this go around due to some fit issues and trying to be financially responsible. Upon returning Jami's selections, I made sure to provide ample feedback on my opinions on the style and fit of each item to my stylist. I truly can't emphasize how crucial it is to provide that information on subscription sites. Always provide feedback! Not only do I provide direct feedback, but I also "bookmark" or list pieces as favorites on the site for further direction. My stylists have sent bookmarked items to me in the past, so I always take the time to explore the site for possible dream pieces!
Not to risk sounding redundant, but I also can't encourage enough that you provide your Pinterest and Instagram links. These will be great assets to your stylist; you are providing visuals on your style, body shape, and how and what you prefer to decorate your body. This all makes it a much simpler task for your stylist to create your dream fix! An additional plus is that you have the ability to personally select pieces for your Stitch Fix as well! Each month after providing my feedback and my my next box date is selected, I am given the option to choose five of the pieces from a dozen or so my stylist selects. I love this feature because it allows me to tailor the box myself.
This is a great option if you are a shopping fanatic like myself! Were you also aware that Stitch Fix now allows you to shop on their site for clothing items, accessories, foundation garments, and also shoes without getting a monthly Stitch Fix sent to you? This is ideal if you aren't interested in getting a monthly Fix. You can check out their site and buy their in-house brands outright! With all these ways to enjoy Stitch Fix, you can't lose!

Value Breakdown: This personal styling service has a $20 styling fee with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $296.00. The cost of each item is listed alongside it, above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $202.00 for the whole box. Ultimately, that’s about a 31% discount!
