First Impressions
June is here and so is summer vacation! With hot temps and a packed schedule, instead of sleeping in, I have been setting my alarm for 5:00 a.m. to have a little quiet time before the day starts. This really has been a game changer and allows for me to enjoy a cup of <hot> coffee on the patio before chaos ensues. I have recognized that this mama is in need of a little extra self care and this month's Wicked Good's "Fairy Garden" was the exact pick me up I needed. With fruity, bright fragrances, and magical titles, this box of aromatherapy has helped me start my days on a good note all while smelling absolutely decadent! Read below to see what I discovered in this month's Wicked Good box.
What's Inside This Box
"Nectar's Kiss" Perfume Oil Roller, 10 mL - Listed Value $18
I love a perfume oil roller because I find the combination of oil and fragrance hydrating and sexy. With a smoothness that a perfume spray just can't emulate, a roller works amazingly on those pulse points for a slow release of fragrances as your body releases heat. This month's roller magnificently matched its "Nectar's Kiss" name, and contained hints of apple juice, blackcurrant, mulberry, tart cranberry, orange blossom, strawberry puree, vanilla spun sugar, and tonka bean. Extremely sweet, yet deliciously wearable, I can most easily pick up on the orange blossom aura, but can also detect a hint of the others in a deep whiff. Bright and crisp, this perfume oil is the epitome of summer and has made it's way into my regular perfume rotation!
"Pixie's Petrichor" Perfume Spray, 1 oz - Listed Value $39
OMG! If you thought the perfume roller description and name was dreamy and delish, this next one is even more magical! Because this month's theme is "Fairy Garden" our perfume spray is appropriately named "Pixie's Petrichor". Now, though I work in education, the word "petrichor" was new to me, so I had to look it up, and boy, oh boy, I think it is my new favorite word. Meaning "a pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather", this month's perfume spray totally matches this description. With notes of rosemary, lavender, petrichor, cypress, cedar, and cashmere woods, these fragrances are the total opposite of the oil roller but are absolutely lovely. This mix really does smell minutely like dirt, but in the absolute best way. Mixed with the lavender and rosemary, I can totally picture a fairy door amidst a damp green forest and this is exactly what I'd expect it to smell like. Ugh! I'm in love!
Sisal Soap Bag Scrubbie
Living in the country, I can tell you summer = dirty hands and feet. Because I'd rather work in the garden barefoot than in clunky, sweaty boots, you can imagine what my feet look like by night. With a daily scrub needed, I have a multitude of pumices in my bathtub, along with my falling apart loofa sponge. You can imagine my delight when I opened this box to discover a sisal soap bag! With medium textured threads, this bag has quite a bit of grit and is easy to hold and scrub with. Featuring a cinch closure, the soap stays secure and I can scrub until my feet gleam. And just look at how shabby chic this bag is - super cute addition and extremely functional.
"Mystic Mist" Handmade Soap Bar
The last item we received this month was a bar of homemade soap that fits perfectly into the sisal soap bag. Featuring notes of ozone, gardenia, tropical wildflowers, apple water, white woods, and wild bamboo, this soap lathers up quite well and smells like a tropical forest. Leaving my skin hydrated and clean, the notes of gardenia faintly last even when your hands (or feet) are dry. Another fun and functional addition to an amazing box!
