First Impressions
My typical white box arrives beautifully packaged.
Included were helpful cards and a booklet with loads of details about this box featuring three items from True Botanicals.
The Products
Renew Chebula Active Serum, 1 fl oz - Retail Value $90
This serum is designed to hydrate and fight fine lines and wrinkles with a potent concentration of chebula, elderberry, ginger, and echinacea. This gel serum has a plush texture and a really lovely scent. Think herbal, but not too herbal. My skin felt hydrated, radiant, and plump immediately after I used it and I love how it absorbs quickly without getting too weird when layered with my other daily products. I prefer to use this at night though you could also absolutely enjoy this as part of your morning routine.
Vitamin C Booster, 14 g - Retail Value $90
This is kind of like a pared-down, powder version of this cult favorite. We all know that vitamin C is a bit of an unstable diva, but this dry form gives her longevity and versatility! You can mix this into any of your favorite serums or moisturizers and experience the benefits of this potent ferulic acid + vitamin C combo for brighter skin and lighter hyperpigmentation and dark spots over time.
Skin Barrier Sun Shield SPF 30, 1.7 fl oz - Retail Value $65
I am picky about sunscreen and I already have my favorite locked down. Still, I can't help but be appreciative anytime a smaller brand launches a product like this. Because SPF is considered under the domain of the FDA, formulating them is really, really difficult and bogged down in regulation and red tape. I've been told it is one of the most annoying products to make! This is a very nice formula that is perfect for anyone who prefers a mineral to a chemical protectant. I like how it is a very skincare-focused formula and contains ingredients like aloe, squalane, green tea extract, and lactic acid. It does have a tan sort of tint, but this vanishes when you massage it into your skin and I am guessing it would be appropriate for all skin tones. The one downside is that it does have a bit of a smell that I can best describe as "chemical" but this fades quickly.
Verdict
Beauty Heroes had an overall value this month of $245 for a cost of $58.95. That is a great value! While this isn't my favorite delivery (listen, with this box, the bar is HIGH!) I still really enjoyed exploring True Botanicals. The serum is awesome and I enjoy mixing the vitamin C crystals into it and other formulas in my routine. The SPF might not be my favorite but it is solid and a great option for all subscribers this time of year. All in all, Beauty Heroes always delivers.
