First Impressions
This month's box is "Glow Time," and I've never been more ready to glow.
Kinder Beauty recently changed the format of their boxes. They have embraced a "choose your own adventure" approach (yay!), so now Kinder offers 3 base or "foundation" products, and you can choose one product from each of two categories. Kinder was kind enough to send us each product in both categories so you can get a better look at this month's choices.
The Choices
The first category included a choice of two products. Choose between Daily Concepts Daily Slip-on Exfoliator ($18 value) and Cuccio Somatology Cooling Spot Temple Therapy With Peppermint ($39.00 value).
In the second choice category, you get to choose one of three products including Snow Fox Skincare Snow Melt Mattifying & Setting Powder ($35.00 value), Jane Iredale Glow Time® Blush Stick ($38.00 value), or Avarelle Cosmetics Nose Patch: Pore & Oil Control ($14.99 value).
My Choices
Jane Iredale Glow Time Blush Stick - Retail Value - $38.00 value
Of course, I had to go with the only color option this month. I am a sucker for cream blush; it is an absolute staple for me during these warmer months. This creamy stick brings a pop of color to the complexion that is just mm mm good! It leaves a glowy finish and wears comfortably throughout the day.
I love it!
Daily Concepts Daily Slip-on Exfoliator - Retail Value - $18.00 value
The selling point of this exfoliating tool is its boast of being able to obliterate old self-tanner; it is so hard to remove stubborn self-tanner, in my experience. It becomes blotchy and uneven, and I've been letting my tans fade for years without ever using anything to remove it. Wearing an exfoliating pad around the hand is a game changer. It made buffing my skin a breeze, and now my skin is so soft and ready for another application.
Foundation Products
Onekind Aciddrops Overnight Resurfacing Serum - Retail Value - $48.00
I cannot tell you how badly my skin needed this extra step. I've been putting off skincare as a whole since I am in the process of moving and stress has been taking its toll on my complexion. Once I tried this mild exfoliator, I became hooked. I've used it three times in the last week, and let me tell you, my skin looks 10x better. It is not dull, some blemishes I had going have either cleared up or vanished, and my skin doesn't have any brewing congestion at the moment. There are several acids working their magic inside this bottle; salicylic, glycolic, malic, and lactic acids clarify and retexturize without irritating sensitive skin.
Jazmine Beauty Detail Setting Brush - Retail Value - $18.00
I am a total sucker for beauty tools in sub boxes, especially when they are as cute and as soft as this one. I truly believe that you can never have too many makeup brushes which is apparent when you catch a glimpse of my hoard of brushes. Jazmine is a cruelty-free and clean beauty brand; this brush is perfect for foundation, blush, bronzer, and setting powders; I feel like it's small size is perfect for really anything, and it does fantastic blending work.
ShiKai Very Clean Mango Hand Cream - Retail Value - $6.99
ShiKai is a lovely brand. I was very excited to try their mango hand cream, and I wasn't disappointed. It made my hands feel silky smooth, and it sunk into my skin in an instant, leaving a subtly sweet mango fragrance behind. I love that the botanicals found in this lotion have anti-aging properties, too.
The Verdict
This month's Kinder Beauty Box sent out a variety of products this month that will force my skin to glow. I am already impressed by the skincare sampled this month, but I can't forget about this handy setting brush; I've been using it for pretty much everything that requires a brush (blush, bronzer, setting powder, etc.), and it is soft and blends like a dream.
The element of surprise and experimentation that subscription boxes offer is still there with the three base products everyone receives, but choosing two things has made this subscription even dearer to me. This month’s box variation, including the two products I selected, has a retail value of $128.99, which is an excellent value for its cost of $27.
