First Impressions
Each month, Nourish Beauty Box usually arrives in a box with an info card that has a quick overview of the box on one side and more detailed information about the products included on the other.
The first thing I noticed this month was that the product card was once again absent. I also noticed that there were quite a few larger products, and I was pumped about that.
Now, on to the items!
NOURISH NATURALS Creamy Vegan Stain in Sunset, 2 g - Retail Value $22.00
Our signature Nourish Naturals product of the month is the Creamy Vegan Stain in Sunset. The shade of this lip and cheek stain is pretty, but unfortunately not the greatest match for my skin tone. While it appears to have more of a peachy tint to it, the swatch produces more of a reddish tone. As always, I’m a huge fan of this product’s formula, which contains both shea and kokum butters and marshmallow root extract for hydration.
As a lip color, this stain is ultra hydrating, and I appreciate that it doesn’t leave behind a greasy or sticky feeling on the skin. However, if using this product as a blush, something I noticed is that it doesn’t work as efficiently for someone with slightly oily skin like myself. The moisturizing formula causes the stain to slide off my face. That said, I enjoy this product as a backup tint since it truly is that hydrating and quite soothing to the delicate skin of my lips. But I’m still hoping for a built-in applicator one of these days.

KALEIDO COSMETICS Resort Glow Luminizing Gel in Berry Gold, 15 ml - Retail Value $9.00
This Resort Glow Luminizing Gel in Berry Gold from Kaleido Cosmetics is an interesting product. At first I thought it was a highlighting cream, largely due to the pearlized shade. However, the product page suggests mixing this with moisturizer or foundation… I don’t know about you, but honestly, it seems pretty pink to blend in with your foundation. I’d expect this to be used more like a cream blush.
Lately it’s been in the high 90s/low 100s here on the West Coast, so for myself personally, anything I put on my face will literally drip off in the first five minutes. Either that, or it’ll clog my pores, causing a breakout. In general, I try my best to avoid anything other than skincare in the summer. This product, which I’m open to using more as a tint, will most likely come in handy for me during the fall weather when I’m looking to add a pop of color to my look. As for the texture, it definitely reminds me more of a paste than a gel.

MASAMI Mekabu Hydrating Shine Serum, 60 ml - Retail Value $34.00
Wow, I love getting hair products in a subscription box! This Masami Mekabu Hydrating Shine Serum is really nice. I always have a product like this on hand. This serum keeps my curls looking shiny and luscious. Even if they’re a bit dry, this seems to be a quick fix. I love the fresh, clean scent of the product too, which is a bit of a compliment coming from me since I largely prefer unscented products.
This serum feels lightweight and hydrating on my hair. It absorbs well, leaving behind healthy-looking locks and helping to smooth down baby hairs and control frizz. I’m thrilled with how well this works for my hair. I’ll be using this down to the very last drop for sure.
ANDALOU NATURALS Daily Shade + Blue Light Defense Facial Lotion SPF 30, 80 ml - Retail Value $18.99
Here we have a product recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation. This Daily Shade + Blue Light Defense Facial Lotion SPF 30 from Andalou Naturals is a truly welcome product to this month’s curation. Since I live in California, I require sunscreen every single day of the year, regardless of the temperature. Not only is the sun terrible for the health of your skin but it’s also terrible for the quality of your skin, and as someone who wants to protect both, sunscreen is a must-have.
When I first applied this product, I was immediately impressed: no stubborn white cast in sight. The sunscreen goes on with absolutely zero tint, and it’s super fast and absorbing. I could do without the scent, which is a natural one, but overall, I’m a huge fan of the formula. I love the lightweight texture, and as someone who spends a lot of time looking at screens, the inclusion of blue light protection is a huge bonus.
Verdict
This was a good Nourish Beauty Box! The highlight for me is Andalou Natural’s sunscreen. It’s perfect for a summer box, and the fact that it doesn’t leave behind a white case is invaluable. The hair serum from Masami was a delightful surprise. I enjoy products like this, and the fresh, clean scent of this particular serum really won me over. I’m still on the fence about Kaleido Cosmetics luminizing gel, but once the weather cools down, I’ll be able to use this to its full extent. Lastly, the lip and cheek stain from Nourish Naturals is kind of old news since I’ve received it so many times before, but regardless, it’s a quality product. Overall, I thought this was a solid box. The product variation was there with a combination of haircare, skincare, and makeup, and the value is there.
