My white box arrived on my doorstep with its iconic Beauty Heroes symbol sealing it closed. Inside, everything is packaged thoughtfully and securely, with a sticker customized to the month's feature beauty brand holding it all in place.

The brand of the month is InLight Beauty, a new-to-me brand. They've provided tons of information about the company, the products, and ideas of how to incorporate these new products into your existing rituals, as well as products that existing subscribers will have received in recent months. August's duo of products can be used in morning or evening, and is meant to brighten, tighten, and protect skin on these long summer days.

My typical face-washing routine is more pared down than to involve a tonic—and in fact I couldn't have claimed to know what a beauty tonic is before Beauty Heroes educated me! But it came at the perfect time, as I've been noticing the facial sunscreen I'm using this summer has left me with some buildup that my current cleanser isn't cutting through. In short, it's a toner, and this particular one gives a burst of mossy floral scent by way of its organic rose water, chamomile water, lavender water, and natural extracts. I have been applying it with a cotton round after washing my face, and loving the way my skin feels replenished even as it ensures it's thoroughly clean.
InLight Neck Firming Serum, 50 mL - Retail Value $90

My neck is often overlooked, which would probably horrify my ancestors as I imagine them doing all they could to retain a youthful-looking neck! This neck serum is a dry oil filled with antioxidants, plant-based retinol, and vitamins E and C. It quickly absorbs as it works to nourish and firm, and is another take on an earthy floral scent that works beautifully with the tonic. The best part is how it shields against UV radiation, which I appreciate extra since I frequently miss my neck with sun protection. What a joyful addition to my care.
Verdict
The Beauty Heroes August curation contains a total value of $140 in its $58.95 box. While it's about a $100 lesser value than last month, it's still more than double the cost of the box itself. The two items include a serum and tonic, both bursting with earthy floral scents and rich with organic ingredients. Both do as they promise, and are wonderfully organic. I know from watching this box over the years that they've always got something special up their sleeve, so while my first month in the books isn't a flashy one, it's one with two products I'm thrilled to work into my routine.
