First Impressions
How cute is the crystal covered tape that wraps this sturdy box? Such a lovely presentation! The crystals were carefully packaged: nestled in several feet of sturdy paper and (separately) enclosed in bubble wrap. Not surprisingly, they arrived in perfect condition.
Enchanted Crystal has continued to use QR codes on the insert included in the box. There are three QR codes that take you to the Enchanted Crystal Library as well as links to welcome letters!
In their latest letter, Enchanted Crystal welcomes new members to their team and teases new stones that will be in future boxes. Some of those stones will only be for subscribers of their boxes; they won’t be available in their shop. Exciting!
The Crystals
Coconut Geode
I love geodes but I’ve never seen a Coconut Geode before. According to the Crystal Library on Enchanted Crystal’s website, “As mineral-rich water permeates these cavities over time, it deposits minerals within, layer by layer. The distinct nodules or spheres that develop mimic the appearance of a coconut shell, creating a remarkable visual effect.”
According to the Crystal Library, “Metaphysically, Coconut Geodes are believed to hold a blend of energies due to the combination of minerals that form within them. They are often associated with protection and grounding, fostering a sense of stability and connection to the Earth. The intricate layers within the geode are thought to symbolize the layers of the self, offering an opportunity for self-discovery and exploration.”
Elk Creek Calcite (Rare)
This specimen is Elk Creek Calcite and it’s labeled as “Rare.” I always get excited to see a rare item in this box. There’s something fun about owning something rare. The piece I received is an intense orange with a slightly yellow hue. Enchanted Crystal explains that,
“What sets Elk Creek Calcite apart is its remarkable clarity and intricate formations. The crystals often appear as delicate structures resembling flowers or chandeliers, showcasing their internal beauty when light passes through them.”
According to their Crystal Library,
“Metaphysically, Elk Creek Calcite is associated with emotional healing, clarity, and higher consciousness. Its gentle energy is believed to aid in emotional release, helping individuals let go of past patterns and traumas. This promotes emotional healing and personal transformation. The crystal is also thought to enhance mental clarity, making decision-making and problem-solving more straightforward.”
Peach Selenite
I’ve received Selenite from Enchanted Crystal before but it was a wand, which is really cool. It was also a whitish gray but like this sphere, it glowed from within. Selenite is chatoyant; which means it has a cat’s eye quality. The name, Selenite, even reflects this glow; which is why it comes from the Greek word for “Moon.” Plus, this piece of Selenite is shaped like a sphere which is super fun to hold and gaze into!
The Crystal Library states that,
“Selenite is prized for its metaphysical properties and is considered a powerful cleansing and purifying crystal. It is believed to have a high vibrational energy that can clear negative energies, promote mental clarity, and create a calm and peaceful environment. Selenite is often used in spiritual practices and energy work to cleanse and recharge other crystals, as well as to facilitate new connections with them. A common practice is to place selenite in multiple locations around the home to create a protective barrier from external influence or negative energies.
Peach selenite has all the energetic properties of white selenite but it's believed to work closer with the heart chakra, promoting additional healing properties.”
Staurolite In Matrix (Rare)
Staurolite in Matrix is another rare stone that is totally new to me. I love the unusual cubic shape of the crystals poking out of the surrounding matrix. (Matrix is simply the host rock in which the crystals form.)
In the case of Staurolite, Enchanted Crystal writes that,
“Its distinctive shape, resembling a cross, is a result of twinning, where two individual crystals intersect each other at nearly right angles. This unique formation has led to staurolite's historical association with protection and its use as talismans.
This particular variety of staurolite was sourced directly from Brazil and is still held within matrix. Though the characteristic "twinning" may have occurred within, you may not be able to see it in this variety.”
The Crystal Library also explains that,
“Metaphysically, staurolite is often linked with balance and transformation. The cross shape symbolizes the harmony between the spiritual and physical realms. It is believed to help individuals find equilibrium within themselves and in their surroundings. Staurolite is also thought to facilitate spiritual growth and encourage adaptability during times of change. Its energy is considered grounding and stabilizing, helping to alleviate stress and promote a sense of inner peace.”
Apatite (Special Bonus)
Apatite is my absolute favorite stone, so I was thrilled to see this “Special Bonus” crystal included. It’s not at all what I was expecting; I’ve always seen Apatite in its blue form, and this specimen is a brownish green, but it’s still a cool little crystal to receive. The shape is unusual; it’s like a shiny hexagonal nugget with a bit of matrix attached to it.
Apatite is a very powerful stone according to Enchanted Crystal’s Library:
“Metaphysically, apatite is connected with clarity, knowledge, and communication. It's thought to stimulate intellect and enhance one's ability to absorb and retain information. This crystal is believed to promote self-expression, aiding in effective communication and encouraging a positive outlook. Apatite's energy is also associated with motivation and creativity. It's considered a stone of manifestation, assisting in turning intentions into reality. Moreover, apatite is believed to have a cleansing and balancing effect on the chakras, promoting vitality and well-being. Its unique blend of attributes makes apatite a valuable tool for those seeking mental clarity, enhanced communication, and personal growth.”
Smokey Rutile Quartz (Very Rare)
I’ve saved my favorite crystal for last. I’m in love with this chunk of Smokey Rutile Quartz; it’s so easy to get lost peering into it. It’s somewhat difficult to catch in my photographs the long and striking inclusions that fill this smokey brown crystal.
Enchanted Crystal’s Library explains that,
“It forms when needle-like inclusions of rutile, a mineral composed of titanium dioxide, become trapped within the quartz as it crystallizes. The smoky hue comes from natural irradiation during its formation. These striking needle-like inclusions create intricate patterns within the quartz, often resembling golden threads or hairs.”
This piece of Smokey Rutile Quartz is labeled, “Very Rare” so that boosts my intrigue. Which multiplied my interest to read in the Crystal Library, that, “Metaphysically, smoky rutilated quartz is considered a powerful amplifier of energy and intention. Its combination of smoky quartz's grounding energy and rutile's vibrational qualities is believed to offer a dynamic synergy. This gem is often used to enhance spiritual growth, facilitating a connection to higher realms and promoting clarity of thought. Smoky rutilated quartz is thought to assist in breaking down mental barriers, encouraging personal transformation, and fostering a positive outlook.
Furthermore, this stone is associated with protection from negative energies and electromagnetic radiation. Its grounding influence is believed to help alleviate stress and anxiety, promoting emotional well-being. Smoky rutilated quartz is also utilized for its potential to facilitate energy flow and balance throughout the chakras, harmonizing the body's subtle energy centers.”
Hand-Crafted Cloth Grid
Each month, a new grid design is hand-crafted onto a sturdy cloth. Like the past two months, this grid came with a QR code. From now on, Enchanted Crystal will be giving the backstory on each month’s grid.
August’s grid is based on the Fibonacci Spiral, which is something I haven’t thought about since high school. If you’re like me, you need a refresher on this interesting shape; Enchanted Crystal has provided that:
“the Fibonacci sequence, a mathematical sequence in which each number is the sum of the two preceding ones: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, and so on.”
According to their article on this grid, “As for its use here in this crystal grid design, it is a potentially powerful symbol for encouraging focused energy flow through any medium. With 8 spirals in a harmonious pattern, you can use this grid to connect/copy/bind either 8 individual crystals on the inner smallest squares and spirals, or one large one on the entire inner area. The outer sections of each spiral could also be used with binding crystal selections, in hopes to amplify or copy intentions towards the center of the grid placements.”
I have to add that I really love the bright teal color; it’s eye-catching and fun!
The Verdict
This month’s variety box was so exciting to open and examine! There were three rare specimens as well as a bonus sixth crystal to enjoy. And rare or not, each crystal is remarkable in its own right.
I especially love Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library, where you can look up the physical and metaphysical properties of each stone. It is beyond valuable. And as promised, they’ve continued to add crystals to it.
While not yet a believer in all of the metaphysical powers attributed to crystals, I’m really enjoying studying (and holding) them. I’m learning that there is so much more to a crystal than its sparkle; throughout time people have relied on them. There’s something to be said for that.
Each Enchanted Crystal box is a learning adventure and I’m genuinely excited to see what next month’s box brings!
