The Bestie Decor Box is a home decorating subscription box curated by Jennifer Verruto, the Founder and CEO of Blythe Interiors. As an answer to clients who asked her advice for ways to freshen up their decor as the seasons shifted, Jennifer created a hand-curated subscription box that is sent out seasonally. The 5-8 items are a surprise each quarter, and are just as often kept as they are sent as gifts. Note that products may vary box to box.
The Cost: $149 per quarter + free shipping to the US. $165 for a one-time box.
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)
Who's the designer behind this box?
Jennifer Verruto, Founder and CEO of Blythe Interiors, has nearly 20 years of experience as an interior decorator. Her style is bright and clean, with hints of farmhouse and boho here and there. While with her personal clients, Jennifer zeroes in on personal style, she also has a knack for identifying decor items that have universal appeal. That's what you'll find in your quarterly box!

What's Inside The Blythe Interiors Bestie Decor Subscription Box?
How exciting to receive a big ol' box of surprise goodies to enhance my home! I've always loved refreshing my space as we live through the year, but as a mother of two young children, that mostly looks like innovative ways of storing toys and rearranging large furniture. So, to have a taste of current, contemporary, oh-so-good fresh decor items is a huge treat.
We're introduced to the box with a Welcome note from Jen herself, and on the back is a little tour of what's inside. As someone who's been in the world of subscriptions for 6 years, I was quick to notice that the info card here doesn't offer brand names or pricing details. There is also no promise of a minimum retail value for the box overall. I'd be curious to hear what you all make of that for a $149 box.
Let's take a look at everything individually.
Creative Co-Op Reactive Glaze Coaster Set of 4 — Retail Value $21.99
This set of four coasters remind me of something my parents would have had in their home when I was growing up, and I mean that in the best of ways. Ceramic homewares in nature tones just never go out of style if you ask me. The colors are neutral yet interesting, and the speckling is perfectly earthy. I love that they have the protective foam dots to slide on any surface without damaging it.
Two of our favorite mugs—handmade by local ceramists in our city—fit perfectly on top of these coasters, and look nice on them, too!
Creative Co-Op Brass & Glass Display Box — Retail Value $38.54
I love a beautiful display case, and this one's three sections have me excited with possibilities. I am also drawn to brass and gold tones, as opposed to silver, so this is very much my style. I'm still deciding how I want to use this case, but I think I may place it on my dresser and fill it up with post earrings that won't hang on my jewelry display.
On another note, this Creative Co-Op piece can be found in a variety of mainstream retailers like Michael's, Wayfair, and Amazon. It's sold for prices ranging from $26.99 to $38.54. Despite that, I love it and think that a find is a find whether it's from a thrift store, a big box store, or a small maker or market.
Bloomingville Cheese Board Utensil Set of 3 — Retail Value $18.59
Cheese board utensils are something I didn't think I needed, until I created a cheese board for friends and felt really pedestrian using butter knives. This set is made from stainless steel with acacia wood handles, and I love the variety in wood colors and grains that's represented. They're quite sharp and are only wrapped in a piece of paper without any sort of plastic or bubble wrap protecting the blades and points, so open carefully!
Mango Wood & Marble Cutting Board With Brass Feet — Retail Value $33.02
This marble, mango wood, and brass board is just lovely. The brass feet give it such an elevated look. It's called a cutting board, but my sense is that it's more for displaying and serving.—it wouldn't make sense to give it the wear that a typical cutting board takes.
The cheese utensils and serving board together are really tasteful.
Illume Cassia Clove Mercury Glass Soy Candle — Retail Value $45.99
Oh how I adore mercury glass! It lets of such a magical light when it keeps candles—in fact, the tables at my wedding were all touched with mercury glass candle holders. Believe it or not, this soy candle is the big ticket item in our box here, though it completely lives up to it! It's giant and it's beautiful and its cinnamon-clove scent is the epitome of fall coziness.
I have this candle positioned on my mantel next to some homemade beeswax candles and a little gemstone. The color story is kismet!
Quick note that my candle arrived cracked, despite being very caringly packaged in bubble wrap and with lots of sizzle as padding in the box. I'm so pleased to report The Bestie Decor Box customer support team was stellar, responding promptly with an apology and sending a replacement candle out along quickly.
Bloomingville Plaid Cotton Throw Blanket With Fringe — Retail Value $38
Oh, so cozy. This cream-colored blanket and its base-tone plaid pattern feel like such an elevated throw. I've long been drawn to bright colors and bold patterns, but as I mature and evolve, I'm feeling the urge to tone things down just a smidge. I look around my house with all its brightness and at times feel overwhelmed. So this throw feels like a step toward calming my space down. I love that it's made from recycled cotton, and I will always say yes to fringe.
Here's the throw displayed on my latest questionable decision—an off-white couch. The cover is machine washable, so that empowered me to take the risk. (Also the emerald color was out of stock, so here we are. Ha!) This corner of my house feels so peaceful. Perfect spot to cozy up with a cup of tea!
Value - Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost:$149 per quarter + free shipping to the US. $165 for a one-time box.
The contents of the Fall 2023 The Bestie Decor Box add up to $196.13 if you consider the full retail value of each item inside. Some items were listed for sale at the time of this review, which could bring the total retail value down to $159.55. Either way, you break even on the subscription cost of this box.
As I dug around for prices and links for these items, I found that every single product is sold at Michael's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Wayfair, or Amazon. Listen, before I got the Internet involved, I was really impressed and chuffed with the selections in this curation. The quality is there and together (and in my home) things look beautiful. I think the sourcing details here might come as a surprise to some, but as someone who loves thrifting and otherwise finding treasures and delights wherever I go, I am completely OK with this detail.
