First Impressions

Open Box for Nourish Beauty Box November 2023

Each month, Nourish Beauty Box usually arrives in a box with an info card that has a quick overview of the box on one side and more detailed information about the products included on the other.

Nothing unusual with this month's packaging, and I'm interested to see what's been included this time around.

Now, on to the items!

NOURISH NATURALS Creamy Vegan Stain in Rhubarb, 2 g - Retail Value $22.00

This Creamy Vegan Stain from Nourish Naturals is a main staple of this subscription box as of late. The shade ‘Rhubarb’ has quite a nice hue to it, and the buttery richness is on point. While the pigment looks rather bold, this stain leaves a natural looking flush on my lips that I really enjoy. Thanks to the inclusion of shea and kokum butters, along with marshmallow root extract, the luxurious texture leaves my lips feeling like they had a day at the spa; rejuvenation and pampering all in one. Now, while this stain can also be used as a blush, my naturally oily skin has left me sticking to the lips-only rule. Cream blushes have never worked for me, usually sliding off my face soon after application. While I do appreciate the product as a lip stain for when I want an extra little flush, one tiny wish lingers: if only there were a dedicated applicator to make wearing this stain an even more luxe experience. Still, whether for those unplanned retouches or a subtle base beneath a radiant gloss, this stain certainly does the trick.

NOURISH NATURALS Butter Pop Tinted Liquid Balm in Raisin, 2.2 ml - Retail Value $16.00

Another Nourish Naturals lip product? Interesting choice for this month’s box. Nourish Naturals Butter Pop Tinted Liquid Balm is a product I’ve tried countless times in the past, and I always love it. The shade ‘Raisin’ leaves just a hint of a sheen on my lips, which is perfect for anytime, anywhere. I love how soothing the texture is to my lips, with jojoba and castor seed oils ensuring my lips remain in a pampered state of hydration minus any annoying stickiness. The doe foot applicator? It’s almost like painting, and the precision this type of applicator offers is why it’s my all-time fave. The scent is reminiscent of an orange creamsicle; it’s absolutely divine. Although this isn’t the most long-lasting tint, nor does it claim to be, the liquid balm is incredibly hydrating. This balm is the perfect thing for a pop of shimmer, and with its powerhouse ingredients, it doubles as protection against the chilly autumn air. Perfectly fitting for this time of year.

SEED PHYTONUTRIENTS Sunflower and Camelina Seed Ultra Rich Facial Cream, 50 ml - Retail Value $28.00

When it comes to all-day hydration, this Sunflower and Camelina Seed Ultra Rich Facial Cream from Seed Phytonutrients has got you covered. With its ultra-rich, creamy texture, it’s like adding a protective layer over your delicate skin. Now, with my already oil-happy complexion, this cream is a bit too thick for consistent daytime use. That said, when I’m traveling to a colder state, this tube will be the first thing in my travel bag. If you’re like me and deal with clogged pores from using such a luscious cream on the daily, I’ve found it works wonders as a body moisturizer as well. Packed with true star ingredients like camelina seed and sunflower seed oils, the natural aroma works with your skin rather than against it, hydrating without irritation. I also really love the brand’s sustainability approach when it comes to their recyclable packaging. If you’re looking to dive into a rich moisture fest, this cream is your ticket in.

ANDALOU NATURALS Dark Spot Corrector, 30 ml - Retail Value $29.99

Andalou Naturals is a brand that’s newer to me, and it’s become a fast favorite. This Dark Spot Corrector was quite intriguing, and I half-expected it to result in irritation due to my ultra-sensitive skin. However, much to my delight, this product embraced my skin with a true gentleness. This contains the brand’s Spot-Targeting Complex, which includes pomegranate stem cells, flexing their mightier-than-kojic acid muscles, shiitake extract, my personal fairy god-mushroom, working its melanin-balancing magic, and caffeine, keeping those pesky UV rays at bay like a trusty shield. I have to say, I’m pretty thrilled with this product; the radiant glow-up it results in is real and with absolutely zero irritation. Just don’t skimp on the SPF after application!

Verdict

I thought this was a good month for Nourish Beauty Box! The highlight for me was Andalou Naturals’ dark spot corrector, proving itself as the unsung hero, emerging as a beacon of radiance and skin clarity. Definitely a new favorite of mine. Seed Phytonutrients’ ultra-rich facial cream is perfect for the cooler weather. Although it’s a touch too rich for my everyday routine, it’s a true savior, offering up luxurious hydration for those crisp, chilly nighttime outings. Also included were two products from Nourish Naturals. There’s the tinted liquid balm, which was the scene-stealer for me, effortlessly balancing a pop of color with the indulgence of hydration. Lastly, we have the creamy vegan stain (also from Nourish Naturals), and while the color looks bold, once applied to my lips, it’s a poetic blend of subtlety and moisture, offering up a natural-looking flush. Overall, I thought this was a pretty good month. The product inclusion could use a slight bit of variety, which I hope we’ll see next month, but the value is definitely there.
