The Walmart Beauty Box is a quarterly beauty sample subscription box from Walmart. When you sign up you will answer a series of questions about your skin tone, skin concerns, hair type, and more. The answers are used to provide a more personalized experience so that they can tailor your box to you. For $6.98 + free shipping, you receive beauty samples from brands carried by Walmart.
Last year, Walmart debuted a SpaceNK Upgrade Edition to their regular Beauty Box subscription, and this is a peek at the Fall SpaceNK Box. Though the box is currently sold out, you can add your email to their website to be notified when/if it comes back in stock. This Limited-Edition box includes 8 products from prestige brands such as Patchology, Goldfaden MD, Sand & Sky, and Miami Beach Bum, along with an exclusive keepsake tin. This season you can choose to start your subscription with the regular box for $6.98, or upgrade to the SpaceNK box (which is valued at over $70) for $17.98. Please note that your future boxes will be at the regular subscription price point of $6.98.

First Impressions
Truth be told when I received this Space NK box in the mail, I was really excited to open it as the box I received in 2022 was pretty fantastic. While this box was decent, I do want to point out that the label placed on the outside of this box says "2023_SpaceNK_Replacement" which leads me to believe the initial box was sold out. That being said, my items differed from the items listed on the content card, which I was a little disappointed about. Anyways, I do have to say I am digging the prestige brands, and am excited to share that I've found a few new favorite beauty products. Read below to see what I received.
Like I mentioned above, I noticed the "Replacement" label on this season's box and quickly discovered my items didn't quite match up with the enclosed pamphlet. While 6 of the 8 items were listed in the pamphlet, two were different. Standard in layout, this pamphlet describes each item in detail and also lists full size prices and a QR code for a survey.
Goldfaden MD Wake Up Call Overnight Moisturizer Enhancing Facial Treatment - 0.4 oz Container - Estimated Value $20.70
Goldfaden MD is a new brand to me and one that I really enjoyed trying. This overnight moisturizer enhancing facial treatment isn't terribly thick, but provides a really nice layer of hydration without an oily look or feel. Gentle, yet impactful with a slight citrus scent, my skin felt instantly softer after applying. With ingredients like CoQ10, DMAE, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Retinol, and Organic Red Tea, it is said this product will reduce fine lines and help with hydration. While the sample is of decent size, I can't say for sure if my fine lines are reduced, but it sure made my skin feel good! At such a steep price point I would like a larger quantity of a sample to test out before spending the $88, but I have to say, with the small amount I did receive, I am impressed.
Pathology Moodmask "Just Let It Glow" Sheet Mask - Retail Value $5.00
With winter fast approaching, I am all about hydration and this sheet mask was the perfect inclusion. Saturated with pear fruit, seaberry extract, and niacinamide, this was honestly one of the juiciest masks I have ever applied. After catching a glimpse of some seaberries for the very first time this summer at our local county fair, it was very interesting to research them a bit to discover all of the medicinal properties (and folklores). After the suggested 10 minutes of wear, I peeled this mask off and patted in the extra serum. Because it was so soaked, it did take a few minutes, but it really did give my dry skin a boost, and I swear made it feel more youthful.
Lancer Skincare The Method: Polish Normal-Combination Skin - 0.5 mL Container - Estimated Value $15
I have very acne prone skin so exfoliation is a key step in my daily skin routine. I know I'm going to catch a lot of flack for this, but my go-to exfoliant is St. Ive's Apricot Scrub. Obviously, this $120 Lancer version blows that out of the water. Made with tiny quartz crystals, pumpkin enzymes, and an entire slew of antioxidants and vitamins, I could completely tell a difference between my hand skin after one use, as well as with my face. I also see this product is included in the 3- step method, and would be very curious to see the results when used as a set. Has anyone out there used the set together? Was it worth the price tag?
BeautySpaceNK Jasmine & Rose Hand Cream - 20 mL Container - Estimated Value $1.00
Like I mentioned above, while I love fall, the dry weather it brings does a number on my skin. This gentle formula is typical of a scented moisturizer. It rubs in nicely without leaving a greasy residue. With light notes of roses, peach, and coconut, it smells quite naturally and is not at all overbearing. A great size to throw in my purse, I was happy to give this lotion a try, but can't say I was overly wowed by it.
Sand & Sky Australian Glow Berries Super Bounce Mask - 0.35 oz Container - Estimated Value $3.90
As you can see, this month definitely had hydration in mind! Also new to me is the Sand & Sky brand, and I wasn't quite sure how this "Bounce Mask" was supposed to be utilized, but found in the pamphlet it is used to brighten and protect skin from dullness and pollution. Filled with antioxidants and Australian glow berries, this has a subtle sweet scent and rubs into skin very nicely. Creating ultra soft skin right after application, I really liked this formula, but wish the sample size would have been a bit bigger.
Miami Beach Bum Bum + Body Cream Mint - 5 mL Container - Estimated Value $1.89
Next up is one of the replacement items we received. Here we have a foil packet of Miami Beach Bum Bum + Body Cream Mint instead of the Miami Beach Bum Reef-Safe Coconut Avocado Hair Shield Sachet. Made with oregano, aloe, and jojoba, this cream is to be used to protect skin from irritations caused by sweat, shaving, waxing, and more. With an extremely herbal and savory scent, this formula has a seemingly cooling effect and worked well as an after shaving cream. Foil packets aren't very user friendly, so I didn't get a ton of uses out of this, but did appreciate giving this product a try, though would have rather had the hair shield. Next time maybe?
By Terry Brightening CC Serum - Foil Packet - Estimated Value $6.59
Who here is a fan of foil packets? I'm guessing not a lot of hands went up. I personally despise these things, as I have an extremely hard time ripping the packages apart, and make a huge mess trying to squeeze the product out. And don't even get me started on how to store this to try and use it a second time. Ekk!! Complaining aside, the actual By Terry Brightening CC Serum was pretty good. I really liked the bronzing aspect, and thought the finish dried really nicely. Scent wise, it was a little strong with a sort of citrus scent. I was bummed though because this too was a replacement product. The true BeautySpaceNK box included Eve Lom Foaming Cream Cleanser, and while I would have rather had that product, I wouldn't mind adding this CC serum to my daily routine as it was that good.
Goldfaden MD Solution Bright Eyes - 4 mL Container - Estimated Value $15.46
The last item we received was also a replacement and though it had a decent estimated value, there was hardly anything in the tiny bottle. This Goldfaden MD "Bright Eyes" solution came at the perfect time, as I haven't been sleeping as well as normal. To reduce the dark circles, a dot of this cream seems to work quite well at blurring those circles and creating a bright glow. That being said, this too was a replacement item, and we received this instead of the Rodial Dragon's Blood Jelly Eye Patches. I have to say, I would have rather had the eye patches, but was happy to try this cream as it too had quite a high value.
Verdict
To be completely honest, this season's limited-edition BeautySpaceNK box didn't quite wow me like the 2022 one did. I am all about trying new items, and am happy to pay a little extra for high quality, luxury brands, but two foil packets and replacement items had me wrinkling my nose a little bit. For $17.98, I received what they say is $70 in items, which were all new brands to me. While I was a fan of the Goldfaden MD products, face mask, and Lancer Polish, I wish the sizes would have been larger, or another full size item included. While they had the curation right for the dry fall weather, I hope next season has more of a wow factor than this season did. Did you get the upgrade? What did you think?
