KOPARI Marine Clean Purifying Gel Cleanser, 5 fl oz. – Retail Value $29
I'm always a bit nervous to try a new cleanser, especially from a brand that is new to me. After I looked over the reviews, I felt pretty excited to give this gel cleanser a try. The biggest thing that I need in a face wash is to remove my makeup really well without leaving my skin feel stripped, tight, and dry. This cleanser is formulated with amino acids, vitamin B5, and marine algae extracts to help leave your skin feeling nourished, refreshed, and hydrated. It also has a fresh clean cucumber scent that I really loved.
All in all I am loving this cleanser! I even put the face wash that I was using away so that I could use this one instead (major). I love how it leaves my skin feeling clean while still feeling hydrated and fresh. My makeup is removed really well so I don't have any extra bits of eyeliner or mascara even after a thorough wash. The price on this bottle is really great too, so this could be a brand that I replenish!
GLOSS MODERNE Clean Luxury Body Creme, 100 mL - Retail Value $38
I've gotten a few hand creams lately so this makes me feel a little blah, boring. However, I won't ever say no to a lotion, since I do have terribly dry skin. This lotion went right into my purse to replenish my last empty bottle. This does have a pretty strong smell to it because it is fragranced with Clean Luxury perfume oils. So if a strong scent bothers you, this won't be your fave, and if you can handle it then a little goes a long way.
The formula is concentrated so it doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy, and I was left feeling extra hydrated. It does say that you can use this as a full body cream to help with fine lines, firmness, and elasticity. Since it does have a strong scent to it, I'll be sticking to using this simply as a hand cream. All in all, while I'm not blown away, I do enjoy getting a fancy hand cream to add to my day-to-day!
KIRAMOON Flowermelon Serum, 60 mL – Retail Value $32
I've been using this serum for a few days and I honestly don't know how I feel about it yet. It says that it is lightweight, but I would say it is leaving me feeling a bit sticky. While it is hydrating, it absorbs really quickly leaving me feeling sort of stiff instead of giving me that dewy hydrated feeling. This serum is formulated with fruit extracts to hydrate, and hyaluronic acid to plump, reduce redness, and smooth.
I'm going to continue using this serum because I do love anything that plumps and hydrates, and it seems to be working well with my other skincare products + makeup. I'm trying to see if it is beneficial and if I enjoy the way it is making my skin feel. Sometimes it takes more than a few days to really truly understand a produc,t so I'm going to give this one more time. If you received this serum what are you thinking of it?!
ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Satin Lipstick – Retail Value $23
I love lipstick, but I have to admit I have been so picky with my shades lately. I've bought so many new colors through the summer and into fall only to hate most of them. Is it me, or did what I thought I liked change? When I saw this matte neutral that I would normally love I got nervous to give it a try. Goodness I am so glad I did though, because I'm obsessed!
This lipstick is both a satin and a matte so it glides on with this wonderful hydration, yet it holds up with the amazing coverage of a matte. It is light and velvety while giving me this incredible coverage that wears all day long. The tube is this amazing rose gold that is so chic and cool. The color works so well for me, a huge win! I have a lip pencil that honestly matches this shade perfectly and it is giving me a great 90's vibe that works well during the day when I want a little lip coverage, and into the evening when I want to be a bit more vibrant. This is the perfect shade to get me through the winter!
TOY FACTORY Sidekick One Multi-Palette – Retail Value $42
This was a super fun palette because it comes with everything you need to highlight and contour your face. The best part is that this vegan formula is created to help your skin breath, while hydrating, and still working to contour and highlight for the best coverage possible.
I'll be honest, I don't contour every day, only because I don't always have the time or the need. I do love adding highlights though, so I was really excited to see so much variety. The contour options were a bit overwhelming for me, but I could see this being amazing for someone that loves to play with their makeup. It is great to get you from summer tan tones through the winter. I decided that, while I loved this palette, I wasn't going to get a lot of use out of it. I passed it on to my Mom who is a makeup artist, so that she can offer her clients a lot of variety.
Verdict
This BoxyCharm by Ipsy was just okay for me this month. I was really excited about the cleanser because it is fabulous, and the lipstick is a staple that I am going to use every day. The hand cream, face palette, and serum were just so-so after using them all more. I do really see the value in this box since I love skincare and beauty products, so it is fun to get new products, try things I wouldn't normally, and learn about new brands like the cleanser brand that I am now obsessed with. I just wish that the curation and quality was a bit higher this month overall.
While this month didn't blow me away, I'm still always excited to see what December will bring. Hopefully I can get some standout makeup pieces that I haven't seen come in a box recently, or something that will really help combat my dry winter skin. What are you wishing for in the December box?
