First Impressions

This month included an activity sheet and a welcome sheet introducing this month's contents. This month's activity is "Affirmations are powerful." Little Feminist included a few simple affirmations and left a few blank spaces so you and your babe can think of a few of your own.

What's Inside This Box

Clive and his Babies by Jessica Spanyol – Retail Value $4.99

This is one of my son and I's favorite books. It is on a shelf he can easily reach, and it is reached for quite often. This book shows how Clive, a young boy, takes care of his baby dolls. He does everything with them, and he enjoys taking great care of them. It is a great book to share with young boys, showing them different caretaking skills like feeding babies, giving them baths, and tucking them into bed. It is also awesome to show them that boys can be excellent caretakers, whether it is taking care of a baby doll or giving mom a loving hug if she's crying during Encanto again.

Sweetest Kulu by Celina Kalluk – Retail Value $7.79

The illustrations in this book are breathtaking and sweet. This poem describes how each animal that lives in the Arctic gifted newborn baby Kulu with words of wisdom and the best of wishes. As we turn the pages, Win and I point out each animal, and we do our best to make their sounds and snuggle, just like baby Kulu is pictured.

Discussion Questions

Little Feminist Book Club includes discussion questions for each book every month. You receive two cards that follow the book's themes and provide questions to discuss with your little reader about their reading experience and other topics to consider. This month's topics are observe and caring. Each card asks questions to help continue our discussions about each book. These questions are age-appropriate and help to get your kids engaged.

The Verdict

Little Feminist Book Club always provides us with books with excellent messages for our own little feminists! I was thrilled to have another copy of Clive and his Babies, and Sweetest Kulu is such a cozy, soothing read.

After shipping, this subscription adds up to $26.90 a month; if you don't mind paying the price for excellent curation and content, then this subscription may be worth your investment. The subscription holds a value that doesn't always monetarily meet its cost, but I appreciate the service.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.
