Everything arrived packed neatly in the pink BoxyCharm by Ipsy box.
Now, on to the items!
AHAVA Overnight Skin De-Stressing Cream, 1.7 fl oz. – Retail Value $64
I've been using this every night since I got it, and I'm obsessed! This cream is made with Dead Sea minerals to help with moisture. It also works to calm your skin from daily aggressors and restores your skin's natural barrier. For me, it feels so calming, and I can tell when my skin is extra dry because this feels so good when I apply it. I've been waking up to fully hydrated, smooth skin that is literally glowing. I love knowing that I can rehydrate my dry skin while I sleep. Now if only this came in a larger size, right now its not going to last me through the winter months!
LUCKY CHICK Sugar Lip Scrub - Retail Value $18
My kids are loving this lip scrub! Both of my kids have really dry lips right now so I was excited to introduce them to the wonders of a sugar lip scrub. This is an exfoliating brown sugar scrub so it tastes great. It is enriched with grape seed oil, Vitamin E, and Jojoba oil. Just a little bit of the scrub leaves your lips feeling smooth while also being hydrated. I've been having my kids use this once a week with a nice balm application right after and their red dry lips are almost completely gone. This was such a hit!
Persona 24 Hour Waterproof Eyeliner, x 2 – Retail Value $16
I haven't been loving my eyeliner lately, even though it is the same brand I've been using for years, so I was excited to give these a try. I normally use black eyeliner so I was nervous to try these lighter shades, but it is safe to say that I am loving both of them! The brown is working great when I use more orange tones and the darker shade is great for every day and works with all eyeshadows. This liner applies so nicely; it is smooth and creates a nice straight line without being too thick or thin. It is also waterproof so you aren't getting major smudges by the end of the day. I'm completely sold on this brand and eyeliner!
by/Rosie Jane Rosie Travel Spray, 7.5 mL – Retail Value $28
This is a lovely perfume that I would gladly wear every day. It is very light with just enough scent without being in your face. The description says this scent feels like sleeping in your birthday suit: nude + translucent. It is layered with nude musk and sweet rose so it is light and feminine, almost like a spring rain. I really needed something that I could wear every day that wouldn't give me a headache from the smell, and this checks all of the boxes!
IL MAKIAGE Color Boss Squad Eyeshadow Palette – Retail Value $48
These are some powerful eyeshadow shades! I used the bottom left brown, and boy was it dark! It would be great for an evening out smoky eye, but for a random Monday it was a lot. My biggest issue is that none of the shadows picked up on my makeup brushes, they all just flaked and I had a ton of fallout. When I used my finger though I was able to get a nice application, but these just don't blend very well. I will say that my makeup did last ALL day, so if you are looking to use this for an event, it is going to stay put for you. I can't say that this is a palette I will reach for often, but the darker shades are good to have on hand when I want to wear a bit more.
Verdict
This BoxyCharm by Ipsy was a fun mix of products. I was really happy to receive a new travel size perfume and the lip scrub was a huge hit with my kids. The night cream and waterproof eyeliner were the shining stars for me this month! They are both from brands that I have never used before so it was a lot of fun learning about them and experiencing their products. The palette didn't blow me away and the darker shades aren't something I will need very often.
While this month sort of feels flat, I still see the value in trying 5 new beauty products every month, and the value is always there. I just wish there was at least one full-sized product to really get me excited. Here's to seeing what the New Year brings!
