Allure Beauty Box is a $25 monthly beauty subscription from Allure Magazine. Each month they send out a mix of deluxe and full-sized samples from mostly high-end brands. (It was named one of the best beauty subscription boxes by MSA readers in the 2023 Subscription Box Awards.)
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)
First Impressions
The box arrived beautifully packaged in the classic Allure white and red box. There was also a helpful mini-magazine with info on the products and a note from Allure's deputy beauty director, Elizabeth Siegel.
What's Inside the December 2023 Allure Beauty Box
Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream, 30 mL - Retail Value $93
Allure ended 2023 with a bang by sending us this full-sized moisturizer from Elemis. I’m a fan of the brand (their cleansing balm is a big favorite), and this is one of their more well-known products. Their marine cream is a lightweight moisturizer made with algae, chlorella, and ginkgo biloba to firm and hydrate your skin. I think it provides more hydration than the light-weight texture would imply, too- my skin enjoys this when I’m feeling dry.
Pixi +Rose Radiance Perfector, 25 mL - Retail Value $18
I think Pixi is one of the better brands that you can find at Target- especially if you like fun, pastel-colored packaging. I highly recommend their rose face mask, but this was the first time I’ve tried their rose radiance perfector. This has a sheer consistency with a soft rose tint and a slight pearlescent finish that looked quite pretty under my light coverage foundation. It also can be worn on top and dabbed into the high points of your face for a natural-looking highlight. I rarely wear makeup now that I work from home, but this is a fun product to use when I reach for my makeup bag.
Maria Nila Head & Hair Heal Booster Mask, 50 mL - Retail Value $9.90
This worked surprisingly well on my dry, curly hair- especially at this price point! It has a nice floral scent (even my husband noticed and said he liked it), and after applying it to all of my hair the Shea butter and aloe went to work softening, smoothing, and soothing. It wasn’t the best detangling product I’ve ever used, but it still held its own against my tough curls.
Billie Razor Starter Kit in Cool Blue, Retail Value $10
I hate paying money for razors (I get it from my mom, who is equally cranky about paying for toilet paper), so anytime one shows up in a subscription box I am quite pleased. I love that Allure sent us the full starter set! It comes with the razor handle, two 5-blade razor heads, and a magnetic razor holder you can stick to your shower wall for easy storing. This is definitely going to get used.
Rael Collagen Sheet Mask - Estimated Value $3.20 (buy a box of 5 for $15.99)
I love sheet masks, though I don’t mask nearly as often as I used to. I’ve used this mask by Rael before, and it’s pretty solid. It’s made with licorice root, which is an ingredient my skin really likes, and my face looks hydrated and glow-y after I apply it to my skin and wear it for 10-15 minutes.
Heritage Store Rosewater & Glycerin Hydrating Facial Mist, 4 oz - Retail Value $8.49
Thanks to the help of my dermatologist, 2023 was the year of me realizing just how sensitive my skin is. So I was stoked to see this face mist show up in this month’s box- it only has three ingredients! The combination of rose oil, glycerin, and purified water may not knock your socks off with dramatic results, but it’s a great product if you’re looking to add a boost of moisture to your skin. I have been applying it right after getting out of the shower and then following up with my normal moisturizer, and I am going to get a lot of use out of it this way.
Aquaphor Repairing Hand Mask (Sponsored) - Retail Value $5.99
I love when Allure includes products sponsored by brands because it results in more products in my Allure box! I wouldn't call my hands rough per se, but they are almost always covered in small cuts and burns from cooking, and my cuticles get ragged very easily- so this rich shea butter and avocado oil hand mask is perfect for me. I like to wear masks like these one hand at a time so I always have the other free to hold my phone or a book, and my hands are in better shape because of it.

Key Takeaways
Allure Beauty Box ended 2023 with a bang- this is probably the best box I've received all year! It probably helps that all of the products included are ones that I will use. The full-sized Elemis is such a high-ticket item, but the smaller things like the hair mask and Billie razor set really, really pleased me. Value-wise, Allure promises a monthly value of at least $100, and everything in the box added up to $148.58. They also met their promise of sending at least 3 full-sized products in the box.
