First Impressions
This month’s theme is "All About Hair." I feel like it’s been a while since I received a box solely devoted to hair care, so I couldn’t be more thrilled with this. I’m always interested in trying out new products and learning about new brands. Plus, I am a huge fan of the new style of bag. It’s a delicate mesh bag that you can repurpose in so many ways. Can’t wait to see what’s inside!

Despite my usual preference for unscented products, this conditioner has the most lovely fragrance that caught my attention right from the start. The texture is rich and creamy, suggesting deep hydration, which is exactly what my hair needs. I appreciate the compact size of the bottle, making it a convenient travel companion. Its formulation is free from harmful chemicals and enriched with natural ingredients like shea butter, sweet almond oil, and argan oil. The fact that the brand is created by a breast cancer survivor and emphasizes natural ingredients (hence the name TGIN - Thank God It’s Natural) adds a meaningful touch. Overall, this conditioner provides a nourishing experience for my hair, leaving it soft, manageable, and healthy.

Another fantastic inclusion by TGIN is this Miracle RepaiRx Curl Food, which has become a must-have for my hair care routine. The packaging is sleek and stylish, which I always appreciate. I find the scent of this product to be just as divine as the conditioner; in fact, I was shocked to learn that the formula contains castor oil, a component I usually associate with a stronger, less appealing aroma. This curl cream works wonders in keeping my curls light, bouncy, and free from frizz and flyaways. Definitely a new go-to for me when it comes to maintaining hair health and vibrancy.

As someone who can’t stand the feeling of wet hair dripping down my back after I get out of the shower, this Frizz Free Hair Drying Tee from Evolve has been a real game-changer. Now, whether I’m applying skincare or doing other tasks around the house, I can do it all without any drippage. The product wraps around my head effortlessly, staying securely in place, which is a significant relief as I’ve tried others in the past that haven’t performed anywhere near as well. What impresses me the most is its ability to absorb a substantial amount of moisture from my thick, curly hair, significantly reducing drying time and keeping my hair frizz-free. A simple yet effective solution that makes my hair care routine more enjoyable.

Okay, now, I was initially skeptical of these hair ties due to past experiences… But I’m glad to say: I am truly impressed. This ‘Extra Hold’ version has been designed specifically for thick, curly hair like mine. I’m seriously shocked with how well these work to hold my hair during a workout without any slipping or discomfort. While maintaining the classic Invisibobble look, these are noticeably thicker and stronger, providing the secure hold I need. Plus, the width and thickness of the pieces don’t get tangled up in my curls, believe it or not, which was a major concern for me. This is the type of product inclusion that makes me feel seen and understood in the hair care market, and I couldn’t be more thrilled.

I love, love, love a good hair mask. Any day, any time. This Signature Revitalizing Mask from Urban Alchemy has been an incredible discovery for me. I’m especially happy about its single-use packaging, which is perfect for travel and offers immense convenience. The self-warming thermal treatment cap, enriched with avocado and olive oils, seems promising for deep moisturization and overall nourishment. As someone who often struggles to find hair caps that can accommodate all of my hair without bursting at the seams, the sizing is indeed a concern for me, but fingers crossed it’ll be just right. What a pleasant surprise that it arrived just in time for some upcoming travel.
HOBE LABS Energizer Hot Jojoba Oil Treatment, 14.8 ml - Retail Value $11.99

I absolutely love a good hot oil treatment. Hair care is very important when it comes to having hair like mine. This Energizing Hot Jojoba Oil Treatment from Hobe Labs is a fantastic product. The convenience is outstanding, making it perfect for travel. You simply warm the packet under hot water, apply the oil to your hair, and then shampoo it out after a certain amount of time. The instructions suggest a 90-second leave-in time, but I like to leave it in a bit longer since I have so much hair (and my hair can always use more moisture). After use, my hair is left feeling soft and smooth to the touch, a true testament to the effectiveness of this product. It’s a straightforward, hassle-free way to give my hair the luxurious care it deserves.
Verdict
This was a great month for Cocotique! The surprising highlight for me was the InvisiBobble three-piece set. In the past, I remember being bummed that I couldn’t use their products, but lo and behold, they have created one specifically for those with my type of hair, and it performs incredibly well. Great for workouts, it keeps my hair securely in place for as long as I need. The hot oil treatment for Hobe Labs is another excellent inclusion, and one that really puts the icing on the hair care cake. Compact, convenient, and easy to use, these treatment packs leave my hair feeling lusciously smooth and soft to the touch. TGIN’s two products, the conditioner and curl cream, are both hits with me. Not only do they smell delicious, but also they’re my new go-tos when it comes to maintaining hair health and vibrancy. Evolve’s hair drying towel is another essential; there’s nothing else I hate more than water dripping down my back after washing my hair, and this handy product prevents that. Lastly, the Urban Alchemy revitalizing mask… I can always use a hair mask, and this single-use one couldn’t have come at a better time. Overall, I thought this was an excellent box! I am thrilled to see a box dedicated to hair care, and the value is there.
