Opening The Box

INK+ALLOY subscribers can look forward to their earrings arriving in a small white box, typically with their name written on the front. Last month they packed the earrings in a recyclable paper bag, but this month they're back to a poly bag.

Raquel Striped Hoop Earrings — Retail Value $50

Whew, we're starting 2024 strong with some giant hoop earrings covered with luxe glass beads. The turquoise, rust, and metallic gold beads are the stuff of southwestern dreams! INK+ALLOY comes up with all sorts of ideas for how to make hoops unique, and these are the largest ones they carry. Such a fun statement.

Of the 6 colorways available on their site, the one I got is not listed. But honestly I would wear any/all of them!

I popped these earrings on with the sweater I was wearing that day, but if you click to the third image above you can see I grabbed a seafoamy-colored sweater to bring out the blues in this pair. They're multicolored yet present as neutral enough to not look too busy. I also find that the metallic beads are nestled in nicely so they don't look super fancy for day-to-day wear.

While the beads are lightweight, the size and shape and width of the hoops make them a bit unwieldy, and I did feel after about an hour of wear like my earlobes were being tugged. I love them enough that I'm going to hang onto them and just save them for outings, then take them off when I get home.

The Verdict

INK+ALLOY is forever going strong with beaded earrings that quickly become my new favorites. I've received tons of earrings that are wonderful for daily wear from this subscription; these large hoops are going to be more of a special occasion pair for me since their size gets uncomfortable after awhile.
