Before we even start, yes, Billie has been around for quite some time. I used their razors in the past, but they somehow got away from me. However, they recently came back on my radar with an offer to try out their Billie Razor Starter Kit, Whipped Shave Cream, and Dermaplane Starter Kit and I was super excited to give it a try. Here’s my take.

What's Inside?
Razor Starter Kit — Price $10
The Starter Kit is a dream for anyone who is starting…anything. I mean, if you are moving, traveling for work, starting to shave for your first time, even remodeling your house. Yes, we recently repainted our house, including the bathroom and some of my things got moved around never to be seen again.
This kit comes with a razor handle, two sets of blades, and (my favorite) a magnetic holder. I know that magnetic holders are nothing new, but this one has just the right amount of strength - no fear that the razor will fly off if you brush past it or that you need to tug with all your might just to get it off the holder. It just works.
As you can see, the colors are super cute and coordinating. I received Sparkle and Malibu. I loved how Sparkle gave a bit of a glow but Malibu was eerily the exact colors of a swimsuit I had as a kid (yes, I grew up in the 80’s). Regardless of how I feel about the colors, the handle weight was ideal. It has heft but isn’t heavy. It was sturdy and didn’t feel like a cheap piece of plastic that disposable razors come with.
Note: The packaging was different for the two razors. Malibu was sent as a Razor Starter Kit while Sparkle was sent in the format your would receive when purchasing the razor as part of a set.
The blades themselves were nice as well. They’re surrounded by a moisturizer that felt silky against my skin. I tried shaving with and without shaving cream and both times were easy and nick-less because of the preexisting moisturizer. My skin was so smooth and the shave was long lasting.
Also, the blades gave me a smooth, close shave right away - I didn’t need to pass over the area several times to get a close shave like I have with other razors. Magnetic holder makes it so easy to keep the razor in my shower - I have a cozy shower with not much shelf space so it’s nice to have it stick on the wall.
Whipped Shave Cream — Price $8
I got two scents of shaving cream - Lavender & Bergamot and Fresh-Squeezed Grapefruit. They both smelled wonderful, but I preferred the Lavender & Bergamot. Some may find Bergamont a strong citrus scent, but my favorite tea is Earl Grey so that scent managed to both perk me up AND relax me at the same time. After squeezing it out, the consistency looked a felt more like soap, but when rubbing it on my legs it seemingly magically turned into foam. The lather was really nice - I don’t use shaving cream too often (again, the small shower) so this felt really fancy.
Dermaplane Starter Kit — Price $12
This Dermaplane Starter Kit includes a handle and three blades. I love that the colors match the razors - when I travel it’s cute to have my hair removal products that coordinate. I was very excited to try this because I’ve just gotten into dermaplaning. However, I was slightly disappointed in the product. I didn’t feel like I was getting a close enough shave. In my attempt to remove all the dead skin and peach fuzz near my earlobe, I managed to nick myself in quite a few places, including next to my lip and near my eyebrows. Maybe I just need a bit more practice with this handle?
My Verdict - Is Billie Worth It?
The razor is a dream. Billie does a great job of producing a low cost razor that makes my shave easy. I loved the texture and scents of the Whipped Shave Cream. However I'm still not sure if I like the Dermaplane. I'll need to try it out again to find out if it was user error or just that the handle shape is not for me. Regardless, I still think Billie provides a superb value and is easy to subscribe to.
