First Impressions
The monthly Beauty Heroes delivery comes in a white box with a red-dotted sticker sealing it. Inside is protective sizzle and information about what you received that month.
This month's feature brand is Polish skincare brand Oio Lab. This card gives lots of info on the brand and the three products included.

The Products
Oio Lab Fulvic Ionic Mineral Face & Scalp Toner, 100 ml - Retail Value $60
Are you on team toner? I fall on in the group of of "eh, sure, I'm up for it," but I've never been able to stick with the extra step. This one is a spray toner, which is way more compelling for me, since I don't need to get rounds involved. It contains over 54 macro-elements and trace minerals, and there is research to show that fulvic acid can carry these active ingredients deeper into your skin. This should make your regular skincare routine more impactful. It's tested to be safe for sensitive skin and can be used on your scalp/hair.
I'm one to find a positive spin on products I try, even the ones I don't love—that's just the optimist in me. But I'm struggling with the scent of this toner. I could call it earthy; that would be generous. It's like a boggy, rainy animal smell, which leads me to believe Oio Lab believes in the ingredients of this toner with everything in them...otherwise they wouldn't let it hit the shelves. Actually now that I've put this sentiment into words it makes me want to overcome my aversion to the scent and use it long-term to see what it can do for me. I've had more bouts of breakouts than usual recently, and I wonder how this toner might help me out. Hmm. It's decided. Here's hoping this stuff is scientifically magical.
Oio Lab All in Eye Serum, 15 ml - Retail Value $60
Of all the eye serums out there, not many target the lids. I've recently noticed mine beginning to droop, which I honestly was not expecting yet. So the arrival of this eyelid serum feels kismet. It's rich in antioxidants and minerals to address dark circles, puffiness, wrinkles, hydration, and elasticity.
This is a fragrance-free solution, but the natural ingredients offer something much more pleasant to the nose. As for what those ingredients are—tuberose and betain plant cell complexes, algae and Tasmanian pepper berry—some are biotechnologically derived, while others are extracts. Oio Lab says that skin elasticity should increase by 15% after 15 minutes of the first use, and upper eyelid elasticity goes up to 23% after 4 weeks of regular use.
Oio Lab Supercharged Glow Facial Serum, 15 ml - Retail Value $35
Finally we have an all-over face serum meant to lift from within, subtly illuminate, and make the skin appear more well-rested. So needed. It's loaded up with minerals and botanical extracts, many of which are organic. Like the eyelid serum, this stuff has immediate glow-boosting effects: it's said to help smooth your skin 18% after an hour of the first application. Wow! I can't claim I've noticed immediate improvements, but I do trust the science and am excited to witness the effects over time.
This gel-like serum has a pearly finish and a subtle scent that's natural and a little peppery-sweet. Very unique smells coming out of these Oio Lab products. It's a cool experience, and again, goes to show that they believe in the ingredients they're putting out there, and not adding anything for optics.
Verdict
Beauty Heroes costs $58.95. This box contained $155 worth of quality skincare products. As always, awesome value. This box was an adventure! Reading through all the literature they provide on what you're about to experience always gets me in the headspace of exploring elevated skincare technology. I was surprised to find some scents that really didn't work for me. That said, I'm still choosing to put my faith in their efficacy and see where they take my strugglin' skin.
