The Quiz: Short and sweet
If you're anything like me — someone who can feel a bit overwhelmed by the many vitamin choices out there — this 3-minute quiz feels refreshing. The quiz has a total of 13 questions.
Some of the questions are a walk in the park (like how many fruits and veggies you manage to scoff down on the daily). Others, though, left me scratching my head and pondering my existence. "What's my usual food style?" they ask. Between options like "meat lover," "low or no fat," "fry it up, baby," and "love my carbs," I found myself in a pickle. As someone who's more of a flexitarian slash pescetarian, this felt challenging to answer.
Still, once you finish the quiz, HUM gives you between 3-4 options tailored just for you.
And here’s what I liked the most: you're not handcuffed to their picks. You can take out of the cart anything that doesn’t serve you, or add more if you want to try new things.
The Unboxing: Simple and to the point
The unboxing experience with HUM Nutrition is straightforward yet thoughtful. Everything arrived in a bright pink box addressed to me. Inside, no packaging fluff, just your new routine with a QR code that leads to a dashboard full of insights about your selections.
The Breakdown
Flatter Me – 30-day supply – Retail Value $26
Purpose and Ingredients: Designed to support a smoother digestive process, Flatter Me aims to tackle bloating and help you achieve a more comfortable and, well, flatter midsection. Packed with digestive enzymes like lipase, amylase, and protease, plus a mix of ginger, fennel, and peppermint, it’s crafted to help break down food more efficiently and soothe the digestive tract.
My Thoughts: I generally don’t struggle with bloating, but I wanted to to see how Flatter Me stacked up against my nemesis: full-fat milk. 🥛 While it didn't eliminate bloating entirely, the difference was noticeable. The usually dreaded discomfort was significantly lessened, a win in my book. I also liked how the pills are surprisingly small, making them easy to take without the need for a gallon of water. After about 15 days of consistent use, I did notice less bloating.
Would I Repurchase? Yes. It seems to work!
Private Party – 30-day supply – Retail Value $26
Purpose and Ingredients: Private Party is formulated to support a healthy vaginal microbiome. It's packed with probiotics like Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and Lactobacillus reuteri. These strains are chosen for their role in maintaining vaginal flora balance, supporting urinary tract health, and enhancing the overall environment down there.
My Thoughts: Talking about vaginal health might be a bit TMI for some, but let's be real; it's an important aspect of our overall well-being. Personally, I've wrestled with my share of discomforts in the past but had things under control before introducing Private Party into my routine. While I didn't notice a drastic change, there was a definite improvement in odor control. And I think this also helps me maintain my peace-of-mind regarding vaginal health. The bonus for me, and likely for many others, is that these capsules are vegan.
Would I Repurchase? Not for the moment, but will do if I feel like I need it.
Daily Cleanse – 30-day supply – Retail Value $26
Purpose and Ingredients: Daily Cleanse is designed to support the body's natural detoxification processes. Daily Cleanse combines green algae like chlorella and spirulina with 14 detoxifying herbs and minerals. These ingredients are chosen for their roles in supporting the liver, kidneys, and skin.
My Thoughts: My journey with detox supplements has been mixed. The pill size is manageable, but there's no escaping the grassy aftertaste — thank you, chlorella and spirulina. Here’s where I have my doubts, the potential for algae, with its high iodine content, to exacerbate acne. As someone vigilant about skin health, this raised a red flag for me. However, after testing Daily Cleanse for 15 days, I haven't observed any negative impact on my acne, which is reassuring. Yet, I remain cautious.
Would I Repurchase? Maybe.
Hormone Balance – 30-day supply – Retail Value $26
Purpose and Ingredients: Hormone Balance is formulated to support healthy hormone levels, which can play a pivotal role in managing PMS symptoms, mood swings, bloating, and even acne. It contains ingredients like DIM (Diindolylmethane), calcium D-glucarate, and myo-inositol, which are known for their hormone-balancing properties.
My Thoughts: To say I've battled with PMS would be an understatement. From mood swings to cramps and everything in between, I experience it all. I started the supplement 15 days prior to my period, thinking it might need some time to take effect. The results? This was the first cycle in memory where I wasn't debilitated by PMS symptoms. While I can’t say this supplement managed my hormones, I can say it at least helped lessen my PMS.
Would I Repurchase: Yes. But I want to recognize that individual results can vary.
My Verdict – Is HUM Nutrition Worth It?
After spending some quality time with HUM Nutrition's products, here's what I think: they're pretty solid. There were definitely positive results after taking them. I really appreciate how they are about the science behind their supplements. For a nerdy beauty enthusiast like myself, I loved that I could go to their site to read all the nitty-gritty of their ingredients, complete with clinical trials and studies.
Also, the positive reviews are hard to ignore. It gives me peace of mind to know that if these supplements helped others, they can help me too!
And while I believe the quality and efficacy of their products are the main attractions, I give them extra points for their branding. Everything from the packaging to the product names is just so catchy and cool. It really makes taking my supplements exciting.
Of course, I’m not saying you should go and replace everything in your medicine cabinet with HUM products. But, if you’re in the market for something specific to tackle an issue or two, they’re definitely worth a look.
