First Impressions
How cute is the crystal-covered tape that wraps this sturdy box? Such a lovely presentation!
The crystal was carefully packaged: nestled in packing paper and enclosed in bubble wrap. It’s not surprising then, that it arrived in perfect condition.
Enchanted Crystal includes two inserts in their monthly subscription box. The first uses several QR codes to link to various letters on their blog. One links to a letter to new subscribers, another to their Crystal Library and one to the current month’s newsletter.
In the April blog post, Enchanted Crystal shares several things, one of which is their belief in preserving crystals in their raw form as well as ethically sourcing and processing those stones. “Raw varieties also ensures we control how many hands the crystals have passed through before arriving to us… All our palm stones are hand processed by fair wage mine-sourced localities. No further after-market sale or modification between the mine sourcing, us receiving for organization, cleansing, and planning-- and their final journey to you.”The second insert gives the details of April's star crystal: Chlorite included quartz. This second insert is wonderful because it gives the background of these fascinating crystals. If you lose your insert or you’d like to read it online, the same information can be found in their Crystal Library.
The Crystals
Dumortierite & Quartz (Bonus Crystals)
Each month, Enchanted Crystal includes a small collection of bonus crystals and stones. I look at these extras as an appetizer; a little taste to get you hungry for more! The bonus crystals I received in this box were two pieces of dumortierite and three pieces of clear quartz.
The dumortierite pieces are such a beautiful shade of blue and are a new addition to my collection. Unfortunately, Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library doesn’t contain a listing for dumortierite, but I was able to find interesting information about the stone elsewhere.
According to The Crystal Council, “Dumortierite is a very rare aluminum borate silicate mineral that is found in the form of masses, small prismatic crystals, or as fibrous inclusions within quartz… dumortierite is a very high vibrational stone that unlocks your third eye chakra, as well as activating unique psychic abilities. These abilities can range from simple actions such as remembering one’s dreams better, to lucid dreaming, astral projection, connection with higher realms, synchronicities, channeling, and even forms of ESP. Dumortierite’s powers raise one’s intuitive side, as well as their intellectual capacity.”
I’ve received quartz pieces in past boxes but they look nice mixed around my other stones so I don’t mind a repeat. According to Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library: “Metaphysically, clear quartz is highly regarded for its amplifying and purifying properties. It is believed to enhance energy, clarity of thought, and spiritual connection. Clear quartz clusters are often used for energy cleansing, meditation, and enhancing the energies of other crystals.”
A great start. Now, on to the main event!
Chlorite Included Quartz
The main crystal this month is Chlorite included quartz. According to Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library, “Chlorite included quartz is a captivating variety that showcases the inclusion of chlorite minerals within its crystalline structure. These inclusions can create a range of brown and green hues and often form intricate patterns that resemble ferns, leaves, or other natural formations. The chlorite minerals are usually trapped within the quartz during its growth process, giving rise to the unique appearance of this crystal.”
The large quartz crystal that I received is fascinating! The quartz itself is so clear that it’s very easy to see and admire the chlorite inclusions. The chlorite almost looks like curly little shreds of foliage, metal shavings or even tiny worms! Bizarre, I know, but that’s what makes it so unique and interesting!
Enchanted Crystal explains that, “Metaphysically, chlorite quartz is thought to have powerful cleansing and healing properties. The combination of quartz's amplifying qualities with the earthy and rejuvenating energies of chlorite is believed to create a crystal of vitality and renewal. It's often used to clear negative energies from the environment and promote emotional well-being.”
The Verdict
I really enjoyed April’s box! Two of the three crystals included in it, weren’t just new to my collection, they were new to me completely. The dumortierite is such a stunning blue. It’s become one of my favorite stones; one that I hope to see more of in the future. And the chlorite included quartz is so unique! Typically, when I think of a stone that has inclusions, I think of it as being less beautiful and valuable. But in this case, the chlorite inclusions only amplify the beauty and value of this crystal.
If you are interested in crystals, the monthly box is a great place to start your collection. As for the value, considering subscribers receive a large, beautiful crystal (as well as several small bonus ones) and the fact that shipping is included in the $16 cost, I feel that the subscription price is a very good deal.
I’m always excited to see what this box will contain and what beauty and knowledge lie within it!
