Grill Masters Club is a monthly subscription that sends 5+ mouthwatering BBQ products, tips, recipes, grilling accessories, and surprise bonuses. This month, they sent my husband their Baja BBQ Blast experience box. The theme of the box was to explore the flavors found in Latin regions, so we connected with our Latin roots for this one.
This review is for a month for a $44.99 box, including free shipping (save with longer subscriptions).
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes).
First Impressions
Hi, I'm Juan! Now...I'm not much of a writer but my wife asked me to review this box since I'm pretty much the grill master in our house. And this isn't just a self-proclaimed titled. I really love to grill and anyone who tries my BBQ agrees – yes, even my wife!
So here's what I think.
The box arrived in almost perfect condition. Only one of the bottles was slightly open during transit, so we got a bit of a mess inside. Other than that, everything was neatly organized inside the box.
I appreciate the booklet with information about each product and the recipe cards! Even if you’re a grill master, having some recipe cues to get your creative juices flowing is a nice touch.
What’s Inside
Candied Jalapeno Wing Sauce – Retail Value $6.99
This was the bottle that arrived open and caused a bit of a mess.
We’re big fans of at-home chicken wings in this house, so I was pretty excited about this sauce. We used it for traditional chicken wings, but I’ll confess we used the air fryer for this recipe, not the grill. Nonetheless, the sauce was perfect. It gives you just the right amount of sweetness and spiciness. And even though this has a vinegar base, I, who isn’t a fan of vinegar-based sauces, was a big fan too.
I also used this to marinate chicken thighs overnight, resulting in restaurant-level results. I think this is a super versatile sauce, and would probably repurchase it.
'Que That BBQ Seasoning – Retail Value $10.99
If you like BBQ sauce, you'll like this seasoning. It's good to use by itself or pair it with other seasonings. It really has a sweet flavor, so it's no surprise that they recommend using it for recipes like wings, enchiladas, and pork. My wife isn't a huge fan of BBQ seasoning in general, so she wasn't loving it, but I personally loved this one. Need to save it for some ribs for next time!
Carnitas Grill & Wing Squeeze – Retail Value $9.95
We’re huge taco fans in this household. My wife always joke about being Mexican in her previous life because she's that in love Mexican food – I think she loves tacos more than she loves me!
We actually cheated a little bit and decided to take this sauce with us to our favorite taco shop. We didn’t order carnitas, but we got some tacos al pastor to try this sauce on, and we have something to say: leave the flavor but add some heat! The sauce is excellent, but it’s more BBQ-style than taco-style, if that makes sense.
Midnight Toker – Retail Value $8.75
This was the biggest surprise of the box. What a flavorful spice mix. We’re familiar with Aleppo chili flakes, so we were really excited to try them. I actually used it to marinate tofu for my wife, and even I wanted to repeat that tofu-based recipe. I used it over chicken and pork. We both gave it an outstanding 10 out of 10.
Grill Masters Club Magnetic Beer Koozie
I gotta say, I didn't believe my wife when she told me this koozie could stick to my grill. I thought she wanted to ruin the grill! But, it's BY FAR the coolest koozie I've owned. And yes, it does make grilling more enjoyable. 🍻 It was definitely a nice touch to the box!
My Thoughts
One of the coolest boxes my wife has had me review so far. This is a great box to subscribe if you like to try new things and keep upgrading your grill experience.
I appreciated the mix of rubs and sauces, as well as the detailed recipes and cards on how to use each product. And, don't even get me started on the koozie, like I need to find more of these! I think this is a subscription we’ll stay on for quite some time.
Value – Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $44.99 (save with longer subscriptions).
- Wing Sauce $6.99
- Spellbound Rub $7.99
- Carnitas Sauce $9.95
- Midnight Toker $8.75
- Magnetic Beer Koozie $14.99 (approximately)
Without the beer koozie, the items in the box cost around $33.68. If we add the koozie, it might go up to $48.67, which falls slightly above the box’s cost. However, you’re still saving on shipping, the time spent finding these sauces and rubs, etc. I still feel that it’s worth the price, especially if you’re gifting this to someone.
