The Mindful Box is a monthly subscription from Mindful Souls, a landing place for those interested in spirituality, personal growth, crystals, and more. Mindful Souls focuses on simplifying and demystifying the concept of spiritual improvement, making it more accessible and understandable for everyone. The Mindful Box is meant as a holistic self-care delivery. Each box contains 6-8 mindful items such as crystals, aromatherapy, and other self-love tools.

The Cost: $39.97 per month + free shipping to the US.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

Monthly deliveries come packed in this beautifully branded box. Inside are a bunch of canvas pouches that hold your goodies. You can preview what's inside them by opening the info pamphlet first, or you can take the path of surprise by peeking in each one. I usually do the latter!

Details about the monthly curation are inside this tri-fold pamphlet. This month's also includes 2 rituals that can be done using some of the items I received this month.

On the back is always a teaser into your next box. This subscription is a little different than others, in that the boxes are set up to be sent in a sequence — everyone receives boxes in the same order, no matter when they subscribe. So the teaser on the back of the booklet will be about what YOU are going to receive, and might differ from what you see here.

Here are our sticker and mantra of the month.

What's Inside the May 2024 Mindful Souls Box

Blue Kyanite Ring

This is my fifth Mindful Box, and each has contained multiple wearable items. Typically it's been a bracelet and a necklace, but this time instead of a bracelet I was sent a ring. It's a beaut! I love large rings, and don't think I've ever owned one with a raw stone on it. The piece of blue kyanite on the ring I received isn't quite as vibrant or sparkling as other blue kyanite stones out there, but the more neutral tone and natural streaking are still interesting. The frond-like setting embellishments on the sides are a neat touch, too. This ring is adjustable, and the part that can be squeezed in to make it smaller slides under its counterpart, making for a flush ring even after adjusted.

Nag Champa Incense

A nice offering to follow up last month's lotus incense holder: nag champa incense. This blend is a proprietary Mindful Souls edition, and it's a bit more potent than the widespread Satya Sai Baba brand. Because of this, I found that I enjoyed it more when burned outside than inside my house.

Raw Citrine Necklace - Retail Value $15.97

Here's another raw stone wearable item—a citrine necklace. It's again a little different from how I typically imagine raw citrine to look. On one side it almost looks like quartz that's streaked with red clay from the ground, but on the other you can see its yellow tone a little better. It's held with a simple wire wrap, and although on the site it shows those curly wires bent down, they didn't want to stay down on my necklace. I don't mind how it looks but I'll have to be careful not to wear it with a delicate knit sweater.

Here's the necklace on its middle adjustment. I love the length, and it's very much in my usual color scheme.

Tumbled Amethyst Stone

See similar for $26.97

Amethyst is the classic calming stone, and I have a few raw chunks of it from over a decade ago when I drove through Georgia, near an amethyst mine. This is a polished version of the stone, and as is the theme with my box this month, its notorious purple coloring isn't as vibrant as I've seen it, but it is still cool to examine and explore—all of these amazing rocks created by the Earth are!

Jade Hair Comb

Oh this comb is so lovely. It reminds me of something I might find on my grandmother's dresser when I would sneak into her bedroom to look at all her jewelry and treasures as a little girl. The information pamphlet suggests you can use this comb as part of a meditation, combing your hair while you look in the mirror and reflect on the parts of yourself you love as a means to manifesting confidence and charisma.

I wasn't able to locate this exact comb on the Mindful Souls website, but ther are many online for prices ranging from $14-59. Everything in the Mindful Box is ethically sourced, which is something I like to keep in mind as I search for similar items to provide a retail value when possible.

Rose Quartz Pendulum

See similar for $20.97

This pendulum is so detailed! It's a tool that can be used for visualization and manifestation, and the info pamphlet provides a simple guide as to how on the back. Using a tool such as this isn't part of my practice, but I have a friend who will cherish this beautiful piece.

Verdict

The Cost: $39.97 per month + free shipping to the US.

This month with the Mindful Box, our theme was visualization. This box costs $39.97, and I was sent 6 items. Similar to previous months, I was not able to locate links or retail values for many of the items I was sent—only the raw citrine necklace ($15.97) and similar pieces to the tumbled amethyst ($26.97) and pendulum ($20.97). That said, even those 3 pieces total $63.91, well exceeding the cost of the box. So it's easy to imagine the actual retail value contained within is double that or more.

Keep track of your subscriptions by adding The Mindful Box to your wishlist or subscription list!

To Wrap Up

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Possibly. Boxes are set up to be sent in a sequence, with varying start points. While this may not be your first box, it may be your second or fourth.

Hi there, I'm Christen. I am all sorts of things:

🌳 a writer who loves to convey feeling

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who prioritizes spending time outside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.
