Ipsy Glam Bag June 2024 Review

Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. For $14 per month, you get five full-sized or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag.

This is one of our top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box — the value and sample sizes are amazing. Just like Birchbox, Ipsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month — so this review is for just one of the bag variations you might receive!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes).

First Impressions

One of my favorite features of the Ipsy glam bag is the excitement of the bag design. I have been a subscriber for years, and the fun designs (and of course awesome products) leave me coming back for more. This month's bag pattern was printed on cloth and featured bright summery designs. The yellow and black shoelace zipper-pull brought me back to the 90s in a chic way. With yellow lining, the inside is just as bright, and looks fab stuffed with this month's goodies!

Also included is a product card that features "Sunny Days Ahead" theme, the contents of this month's bag, and items coming this July.

Now, on to the items!

GIRLACTIK Fruit Superfood Sugar Face Scrub - Deluxe Sample - Retail Value $4.78

As I head into my 36th year, skincare has become more important to me than ever. Daily moisturizers and serum routines have become a must have, and I have been on the lookout for a good scrub that is gentle on my skin but produces results. This superfood sugar face scrub utilizes avocado oil, cucumber, and strawberry seeds. It smells fruity and divine (in a natural strawberry way), but is a little harsher than I was expecting. With large seeds I had to be pretty gentle when massaging this into my skin, but I did love the results. Once applied, I left it on my skin for four minutes and rinsed. My skin felt extremely soft which provided a smooth base for my make-up application. Great for weekly use, I was really happy to try this out and add it to my routine.

FIRST AID BEAUTY Brighten + Glow Moisturizer With Vitamin C - Deluxe Mini - Estimated Value $8.80

The next product I received was this deluxe sample of First Aid Beauty Brighten + Glow Moisturizer with Vitamin C. Made with vitamin C, papaya, ginger extract, and peach micro-pearls, this naturally scented cream adds hydration to thirsty skin and leaves you glowing. I applied this product after a brightening serum, and it rubbed right in. A little tacky at first, I did the breakfast dishes before applying make-up to give it time to soak in. A little bit goes a long way, and after only two uses, my husband commented on how my skin looked extra vibrant. Is is the moisturizer? Or is it the exfoliator and serum?! Who knows but I want it all now!

JLO BEAUTY That Jlo Glow Brightening & Firming Serum with Niacinamide - Deluxe Sample - $13.43

This month there were quite a few options for the choice item. I am on a bit of an eyeshadow overload, so I chose this brightening and firming serum instead. I'll be honest, I was hoping for bigger sample, but overall really enjoyed this formula. Created using Niacinamide to help even out skin tone,

Tri-Fermented Complex to firm and brighten, and Peptides to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, I really do see a difference in my skin! As suggested, I have been using this morning and night, and like I mentioned above, have applied it prior to my moisturizer, letting it sit for a while to dry before applying my make-up. Spendy to buy the full size bottle, I was happy to receive this to try before I indulge, as it has been a game changer for my aging summer skin!

BILLION DOLLAR BROWS Liquid Eyeliner in Black - FULL SIZE - Retail Value $22

Liquid eyeliner is a staple in my daily make-up look, so I was excited to try out this brand. Currently I use Too Faced liquid eyeliner, and while I love the results, it is expensive and doesn't last quite as long as I would like. This Billion Dollar Brows brand promises a waterproof and smudge-proof look, with a flexible felt tip. While definitely not as flexible of a tip as my Too Faced eyeliner, this formula stays in place much better. I was out in 80 degree weather coaching baseball and had no smudging at all. The tip creates a lovely cat eye, and was easy to use. I am definitely a fan, and now a convert!

WANDER BEAUTY Mile High Club Length and Define Mascara - Deluxe Sample - Estimated Value $10.11

Another one of my favorite make up items is mascara. I prefer a full, voluptuous look, and this formula did a really good job at creating that. This water-resistant mascara utilizes castor seed oil, trehalose, and fortifying peach leaf extract to create a long-wear look. I found the brush to be easy to hold, and I really liked the bristles it offered, as it was more brush-like than plastic for a better application. The staying power of this mascara was good, and combined with the eyeliner gave me precision make-up all day long.

Verdict

I love Ipsy Glam Bag and am always excited to try out new beauty products. While I have brands that I adore, I am an equal opportunity makeup user, and love seeing if my current faves can be outdone. This is the second month in a row that I didn't choose a full size item as my monthly pick, but I was really happy with my skincare choice. Skincare is what I'm really after these days, so I really enjoyed the fact that three of my five items were honed in on that. The two make up items were ones I use daily, so it was fun to try new brands, and I even discovered one I have converted to! With a thoughtful curation of skincare and makeup, I was satisfied with all of the products this month, but especially loved the eyeliner. For $14, you seriously can't go wrong! What do you think will be in store for the July curation?! I can't wait to see!

I do love Ipsy and that you can skip months, because you can only use so many products especially when the same, I wish they would get new products/brands to try since so many are out there but they tend to keep getting same ones or not getting the ones I use and love more often.
