Opening The Box
Summertime is here and floral as ever with the Margot Elena Subscription Box! With a combination of fragrances and products both familiar and new, both available for purchase and box-exclusive, we have a lot of great stuff to explore.
Inside this pretty card is our list of items, with a lovely intro to the "sunny escape" mindset they chose to elicit.
Here's What's Inside
Lollia Always In Rose Perfumed Shower Gel, 8 fl oz — Retail Value $23
Margot Elena shower gels are always welcome here. More than with lotions and perfumes, I seem to work my way through shower gels quickly enough that by the time a new one arrives, I'm just about through the last bottle and ready for a new one. I enjoy the rotation of pretty scents to bathe in, and I find that they linger in the shower steam and on my skin, allowing the aroma to follow me out of the bathroom and into my day. "Always In Rose" is a very floral scent, with a combo of rose and hibiscus. I simply adore it, but I know strong rose scents aren't for everyone, in which case Margot Elena products never fail to make gorgeous gifts.
Archive Journey Within Fragrance, 1.69 fl oz — Retail Value $54
Currently on sale for $43.20
The Archive line tends to have gender-neutral scents with a more simplified presentation. That's true here too, but this perfume is striking me as brighter than I expected—especially considering we've received both a body wash and a lotion with this scent in the past, and I didn't feel that way. It's cool to see how the same scent can take on different shapes in different formats. This fragrance is working really well for me.
Exclusive! The Cottage Greenhouse Himalayan Salt Candle, 4 oz — Listed Retail Value $16
Inspired by a friend, I've taken to lighting a tin candle in my bathroom anytime I have company over. It makes for a soothing surprise when guests steal away for a moment to themselves. And Margot Elena candles obviously take the whole arrangement to the next level! This is a box-exclusive with a light scent that's both powdery and floral. It's absolutely perfect for my sage green bathroom!
TokyoMilk Just Because Stationery Soap, 5 oz — Retail Value $12
While the bars of soap we're sent in our boxes don't typically go to immediate use for me, I really appreciate having them on hand. They are just as satisfying to pull out of my storage bathroom, unwrap, and wash with down the line as they are to share. I sent one along to each of my daughter's teachers as a teacher appreciation gift this year and got great feedback.
Exclusive! Drink It All In Water Bottle — Listed Retail Value $28
Now that the Margot Elena Subscription Box is back to including a lifestyle item, I've come to again really appreciate the surprise of what it will be. It's always so clever and useful. A water bottle couldn't be more suited to summer. This is a sturdy, double-walled stainless steel bottle with a secure, leak-proof lid. Honestly even when I first glimpsed this water bottle in the box and thought it was a simple aluminum one I was happy—but feeling its quality in my hands takes it to the next level. Particularly because the shape fits in a car cup holder. I will definitely be carrying this one around all season (and all year).
Infinite She Celebrate You, Radiant Sparkling, and You Are Sunshine Greeting Cards — Retail Value $5.50 each
Hooray, I find the Infinite She greeting cards to be so fun! Each one is textured with embossing and some have a metallic foiling component. On the inside, they've each got a faint design with words or a picture that you could write over, or, if you don't have much to say, you could write around!
TokyoMilk Light And Soul Handcreme, 2.7 oz — Retail Value $23
This handcreme arrived as a tube-only, without the box you'd receive it in if you purchased it from the Margot Elena website. For me, that's just fine, as I intend to use it myself and it eliminates some waste. More good news is that its seal is a piece of foil that's easily peeled back, rather than the difficult-to-puncture seal we typically see. The And Soul scent is a new one to me. It's said to have notes of Oolong Tea, Bamboo Reed, Orchid & Air, and White Musk. Such a unique variety, and the result is a fragrance that's light and airy, and subtly sweet. It's very pleasant for day-to-day.
Infinite She Hydrating Body Lotion, 14 oz — Retail Value $32
Here in a large tin bottle with a pump is a hydrating body lotion (thanks to shea butter and argan oil) with a sunny botanical scent. It's floral and glowy but a bit grounded by the vetiver note. I can't help but smile at the positive notes printed on the bottle.
Bonus! Inifinite She Lip Balm, Set of Two — Retail Value $10 each
Lastly we were sent a duo of lip balms. I've said it before but I find it surprising that Margot Elena has a wide variety of lip balm tube designs, but they all come with the same berry scent. The tube here says it's a rosehip + hibiscus scent, but it's just...not. I don't mind the berry flavor, but sometimes I could go for something a little more subtle. I have enough to go in all my bags, so at this point I'm doling lip balms out to my friends.

Value Breakdown: This summer Margot Elena Box includes 10 items, which counts the duo of lip balms as their own thing, but the greeting cards all as one. The vibe this quarter is light, floral, happy, and wearable. Everything in there is a joy! The exclusive candle and the And Soul handcreme are my favorite items of the month—I'm not sure if it's because they're the ones that have new-to-me scents or what but I just love them. The lip balms were the only item I found to be a bit underwhelming, but the friends who were at the receiving end of them did not agree! The total value in this delivery is $224.50, which includes 2 items that are exclusive to subscribers. Amazing value.
