The Mindful Box is a monthly subscription from Mindful Souls, a landing place for those interested in spirituality, personal growth, crystals, and more. Mindful Souls focuses on simplifying and demystifying the concept of spiritual improvement, making it more accessible and understandable for everyone. The Mindful Box is meant as a holistic self-care delivery. Each box contains 6-8 mindful items such as crystals, aromatherapy, and other self-love tools.

The Cost: $39.97 per month + free shipping to the US.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

Monthly deliveries come packed in this beautifully branded box. Inside are a bunch of canvas pouches that hold your goodies. You can preview what's inside them by opening the info pamphlet first, or you can take the path of surprise by peeking in each one. I usually do the latter!

I LOVE the theme this month: The Magic of Detachment. The intro paragraph explains that a first step to manifesting your dream life is letting go of how things "should" be and embracing the present moment; "giving up control and trusting that no matter how we get there, the universe holds infinite possibilities for us." What a beautiful way to live. The items in this box are meant as tools to practice this concept of detachment.

The mantra of the month is one I'll keep close. Allowing freedom for people and things to be as they are is a huge shift that can allow for a calm and centered reality. Still very much in progress over here! The sticker of the month is a hand delicately holding a lotus flower.

What's Inside the July 2024 Mindful Souls Box

Raw Malachite Stone — Retail Value $16.97

When I think of malachite, I picture a marbling of deep green and brighter green tones. That style of stone is even what's pictured in the trifold info card. So I was very surprised to find this smooth, patina-looking stone in my box. I've tried all sorts of search terms and can't find anything quite like it on the Internet—this was the closest I found. But perhaps that's missing the point, and what's feeling more true for me is that this is just a unique chunk of raw malachite with a flat, sloped surface that feels nice in my hands. And, further, maybe I should let this malachite stone just be what it is, like our theme encourages.

Patchouli Essential Oil, 10 mL — Estimated Retail Value $10.97

Ah, there's nothing like the calming, earthy scent of patchouli. For as strongly as I associate it with many of my favorite nostalgic spaces and memories, I've never had my own bottle. I've been enjoying wearing it on my arms as an uncomplicated summer scent to ground me.

Amethyst Macrame Wallpiece

See similar for $17.97

This simple hanging decoration is made with woven white string, light wooden beads, and two dark chunks of amethyst. They're so dark, in fact, that they appear black unless you look closely. It could work hanging on a wall or window, or even from the rearview mirror of your car.

Indian Agate Beaded Jewelry

See similar for $20

This beaded piece is the hero of the box for me. The colors are just gorgeous. I love the mostly earthy blend with some pops of bright red, green, orange, and white. The polished agate beads are strung on elastic so it can be worn at its full length or wrapped.

Here it is as worn by my husband around his neck, on his wrist, and then on me. I love it for both of us! A day hasn't gone by that I haven't worn it since it came.

Tiger's Eye Stone

See similar for $2.82

Tiger's eye is one of the stones my kids know by name and love. This small piece has some unique qualities, too—you can sort of see from the second photo that one side has some shiny spots and some matte areas.

Mindful Souls Tote Bag — Retail Value $19.97

Our final item of the month is this canvas tote bag with a message of manifesting positivity and love. The colors are some of my favorites!

Verdict

The Cost: $39.97 per month + free shipping to the US.

For the "Magic of Detachment" theme of the Mindful Box, we were sent 6 tools to use as we spend time with that intention. This box costs $39.97. As is often the case for this box, the items I received are mostly not available in their online shop. Using a combination of retail values that I could find in the Mindful Souls shop and some estimated values, I added everything up to $88.70. That's a very approximate value but feels appropriate for everything I received this month!

To Wrap Up

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Possibly. Boxes are set up to be sent in a sequence, with varying start points. While this may not be your first box, it may be your second or fourth.

Hi there, I'm Christen. I am all sorts of things:

🌳 a writer who loves to convey feeling

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who prioritizes spending time outside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.
