Enchanted Crystal is a monthly subscription for crystals, hand-picked and uniquely curated to offer a truly enchanted crystal experience.

This box was sent to us free of charge for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This is a review of the $42.00 Crystal Variety Box.

First Impressions

How cute is the crystal covered tape that wraps this sturdy box? Such a lovely presentation!

The crystals were carefully packaged: nestled in sturdy paper and (separately) enclosed in bubble wrap. Unsurprisingly, the crystals arrived in perfect condition!

Enchanted Crystal includes an insert in their variety subscription box. On it are several QR codes that link to various letters on their blog. One links to a letter to new subscribers, another to their Crystal Library and one to the current month’s newsletter.

In the June blog post, Enchanted Crystal talks about Dragon’s Tooth Amethyst, a very popular crystal. Most subscribers received this remarkable crystal.

The Crystals

Bonus Crystals - Quartz & Dalmation Jasper

Each month, Enchanted Crystal includes a small collection of bonus crystals and stones in their box. The bonus crystals I received were three pieces of clear quartz and two pieces of dalmation jasper.

The dalmation jasper pieces are unusual looking but beautiful. Unfortunately, Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library doesn’t contain a listing for dalmation jasper, but I was able to find interesting information about the stone elsewhere.

According to The Crystal Council, “The drive that radiates off this crystal is unprecedented. You will almost immediately sense an overwhelming obsession for accomplishing all your dreams. By listening to your inner consciousness and allowing your soul to speak, one will know the way that is most resourceful for them. Dalmatian stone will provide everlasting comfort when dealing with these confusing times.”

I’ve received clear quartz pieces in past boxes but they have such a beautiful shape, and look so nice scattered around my other crystals, that I don’t mind a repeat. According to Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library, “Metaphysically, clear quartz is highly regarded for its amplifying and purifying properties. It is believed to enhance energy, clarity of thought, and spiritual connection. Clear quartz clusters are often used for energy cleansing, meditation, and enhancing the energies of other crystals. Pairing a clear quartz with any other crystal or mineral variety is thought to amplify all the properties together.”

A great start. Now, on to the main event!

Epidote

I received a chunk of epidote from Enchanted Crystal last year. That was my first time learning about this gorgeous stone. The little black slivers have a striking shininess that I found difficult to capture in my photographs. I really enjoyed adding epidote to my collection last year and my sister will now be able to add this intriguing piece to hers.

Interestingly, according to Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library, “...its name is derived from the Greek word "epidosis," meaning "increase," which alludes to its ability to increase the energy of other minerals it's combined with.”

The Crystal Library adds that, “Metaphysically, epidote is believed to have powerful transformative properties. It is thought to assist individuals in releasing negative patterns and emotional baggage, paving the way for personal growth and positive change. Epidote's energy is associated with abundance and manifestation, encouraging one to attract more of what they desire in life. It's seen as a stone of enhancement, amplifying both personal and spiritual intentions.”

Peruvian Pink Opal

This chunk of Peruvian pink opal is the loveliest shade of soft pink. It almost looks like it has a creamy consistency.

The Crystal Library explains that, “Unlike other opals, it doesn’t display play-of-color, offering instead a tranquil, uniform pink, attributed to trace organic compounds.”

Enchanted Crystal adds, “In metaphysical practices, Peruvian pink opal is valued for its calming and heart-healing properties. It is believed to soothe emotional stress and nurture the heart chakra, making it beneficial for those dealing with heartache or grief. Additionally, this opal is thought to aid spiritual growth, encouraging feelings of love, hope, and optimism. Its soft energy is ideal for meditation, helping to foster compassion and a deep sense of inner harmony.”

Green Calcite Set

These green calcite stones are really beautiful to view but also very interesting to touch. They almost seem like glass. They have a smoothness and shininess that I’d expect to find in a chunk of glass.

According to The Crystal Library, “Visually, green calcite can range in shades from pale green to deeper, vibrant green hues. Some specimens may display transparency, while others have a more opaque appearance. The stone may exhibit a vitreous or pearly luster, adding to its enchantment!”

Enchanted Crystal adds that, metaphysically, “Calcite is prized for its tranquil energy and is believed to have properties that promote relaxation and renewal. It is associated with the heart chakra, making it a popular choice for balancing and opening the heart center. Green calcite in particular is thought to aid in releasing emotional blockages, fostering compassion, and inspiring a sense of well-being.”

Lapis Lazuli Tower

This next crystal is a favorite among collectors. I’ve seen countless sets of lapis lazuli beads for sale, in all shapes and sizes. This piece of lapis is cut into a tower shape. Holding this tower, it’s easy to see why it’s so popular. The blue is so rich and vibrant, causing the pyrite inclusions to pop. It’s quite stunning.

According to the Crystal Library, “Lapis lazuli's signature blue color has been celebrated for thousands of years, capturing the imaginations of civilizations from the Egyptians to the Renaissance artists. Today, the best quality lapis lazuli is found in the rugged mountains of northeast Afghanistan, with other notable deposits in Chile and Russia, adding to its exotic allure.”

Enchanted Crystal adds, “In the metaphysical world, lapis lazuli is a stone of wisdom and enlightenment, often associated with the pursuit of truth and understanding. It's believed to open the mind to knowledge and insight, and is thought to foster intellectual ability and memory. Lapis Lazuli is also linked to the third eye chakra, enhancing intuitive and psychic abilities, making it a favored stone for spiritual exploration. Its deep blue color is said to encourage calmness and peace, helping to relieve stress and bring clarity to one’s thoughts.”

Super Seven Amethyst Point Set (Rare, Old Find)

I’m very familiar with amethyst, but this is the first time I’ve heard about the super seven form of it. To me, it looks a lot like the dragon’s tooth variety but it’s actually even more special.

According to the Crystal Library, “Super deven amethyst, also known as melody stone or sacred seven, is a powerful crystal that combines seven different minerals in one stone. It is primarily composed of seven varieties: Amethyst, quartz, smoky quartz, cacoxenite, rutile, goethite, and lepidocrocite. Super seven amethyst is believed to be formed within quartz deposits, where these minerals come together in a unique and harmonious formation.”

Enchanted Crystal adds that, “Metaphysically, super seven amethyst is highly regarded for its transformative and spiritual properties. The combination of minerals within it creates a synergy of energies believed to have a high vibrational energy that facilitates spiritual expansion, inner wisdom, and connection to higher realms. Super aeven amethyst is often used to assist in balancing and aligning all chakras, enhancing overall well-being. It is said to provide protection, grounding, and purification of energy, helping to release negative patterns and promoting spiritual clarity.”

Ammonite Fossil Set

Finally, my favorite stone in the June box is a set of ammonite fossils. These fossils are actually from one ammonite, but have been sliced down the middle to reveal the beautiful transformation that has been created by fossilization.

According to the Crystal Library, “Ammonite fossils are the remains of extinct marine mollusks called ammonoids that lived millions of years ago. These fossils are renowned for their intricate spiral shells, which make them highly valued among collectors and enthusiasts. Ammonites formed in a similar way to nautilus fossils. When an ammonoid died, its shell would sink to the ocean floor and become buried in sediment. Over time, the shell would undergo fossilization as minerals from the surrounding sediment replaced the organic material. This process preserved the intricate structure and details of the shell, resulting in beautifully preserved ammonite fossils.”

Enchanted Crystal adds, “Metaphysically, ammonite fossils are believed to possess powerful energy and symbolism. They are often associated with transformation, growth, and the cyclical nature of life. Ammonites are seen as symbols of divine proportion, representing the interconnectedness of all things. They are believed to assist in personal evolution, aiding in releasing old patterns and embracing change. Many people also view ammonite fossils as connections to ancient wisdom and ancestral knowledge, making them valuable tools for meditation, past-life exploration, and spiritual awakening.”

Hand-Crafted Cloth Grid

Each month, a new grid design is printed onto a sturdy, hand-sewn cloth with water-based, PVC-free ink. The grid came with a QR code with a link to its backstory along with suggestions on how to best use it.

According to the blog post about June’s grid, “Composed of two interlocking tetrahedrons, the merkaba tetrahedron has roots in ancient spiritual traditions, such as the Egyptian and Kabbalistic beliefs, where it represented the divine throne and the soul's ascension. Its precise angles and lines hint at the interconnectedness of all things and the flow of universal energy. It can be a powerful tool for focusing your intention, amplifying the energy of the crystals, and supporting your spiritual practice when used in a crystal grid.”

To get the best use of this grid, Enchanted Crystal explains, “To use this grid, start by placing a primary crystal that aligns with your intention at the center of the symbol. Then, place crystals that resonate with you at each of the six points of the interlocking tetrahedrons. Add additional crystals along the lines connecting the points of the merkaba, and if desired, place smaller crystals or tumbled stones in between the main crystals to potentially amplify the energy of your design.”If you’re fascinated, there is more information on this unique grid in their blog post. I’m so happy that Enchanted Crystal explains each grid. I now have an understanding of their design, the significance behind them as well as how to use them effectively. Thanks to the recent blog posts, I’ve learned that these aren’t just pretty designs on a piece of fabric, the symbols are a link to the history of humankind.

The Verdict

June’s variety box from Enchanted Crystal was fantastic. The variety and attractiveness of the crystals in this box make it one of the best I’ve received. I’m most taken with the ammonite fossils, but the boldness of the blue lapis lazuli tower and soft creaminess of the Peruvian pink opal make them impossible to ignore. And then there’s the super seven amethyst. While it may not look very different from other amethyst varieties, learning about its unusual makeup (a composition of seven minerals) makes me love it even more.

I continue to be impressed by the Crystal Library that Enchanted Crystal created and continues to update. The crystals themselves are beautiful, but the stories behind them are equally fascinating. As is the explanation of the monthly grid. The more I learn about grids and crystals, the more I realize that I still have a lot to learn and I’m so excited for the journey.

Though I’m still not a firm believer in all of the metaphysical powers attributed to crystals, I really do enjoy admiring and studying them. I love learning about how they’re formed within the Earth, their historical significance and how they’re currently used throughout the world.

I’m always excited to check my mail and see a new box from Enchanted Crystal!
