Who doesn't love seeing fresh flowers in their home? The Bouqs is a flower subscription service in which you choose your arrangement size and schedule (weekly, every other week, monthly, every other month). Then you choose your flowers or leave it up to The Bouqs to send what's in season.

Size options are:

  • Original: 10-16 stems - $44 per delivery
  • Deluxe: 20-32 stems - $56 per delivery
  • Grand: 30-45 stems - $69 per delivery

The Bouqs is available within continental US and all subscriptions include free shipping. There is limited availability in Alaska and Hawaii, per their website:

Shipping to LIMITED regions in Alaska. Only certain Bouqs can ship to AK and Hawaii. If you need assistance with orders to these states please reach out to our Support team...or through the live chat widget on our homepage...Due to limited carrier availability in Hawaii, deliveries might take a little longer.  Also, due to restrictions unique to Hawaii, Tropical Bouqs, plants, and arrangements containing eucalyptus are not available for delivery in Hawaii.

This is a review of the bouq Wild About You Deluxe.

The Cost: $52 per month with subscription or $74 as a one time box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Opening the Box

The box is clearly labeled, “Farm Fresh Flowers” with a smaller “Open me ASAP” below. So the teenagers who were home when it was delivered knew to bring the box inside right away and handle it gently.

Upon opening, there is a pretty green cover panel that nests information cards. One was an actual greeting card with a message for me inside. The other was a multi-panel fold out that included care information, a coupon code, and a pretty postcard.

Upon lifting the panel, the flowers are draped in a large heavy duty sheet of paper, with a monochrome flower print. There’s a small note in the corner reading, “Recycle me or get creative. Hint: I make great gift wrap.”

Under the paper, two plastic wrapped flower bouquets were placed inside a vase with a tie wrapped around the base of the flowers through the bottom of the box. This kept them securely in place.

The Flowers

The size ordered included two identical individually plastic wrapped bouquets in a single vase.

Each bouquet had a feature bloom- in this case, a succulent, 3-4 bunches of each of 3 other types of blooms, plus greenery.

I followed the directions included to set up the vase with water and the included plant food, then arranged flowers by type, starting with the greens, then featured blooms, then the other types of flowers.

As I opened up the bouquets to inspect the blooms, the flowers were generally fresh and vibrant. A few stems of alstroemeria looked a bit wilted, though. My major concern was that the wooden dowels the succulents were mounted on had considerable mold spots. Maybe this is to be expected, with a warm damp environment.

The bouquet was easy to arrange and turned out impressive with the two succulents as the showcase blooms.

Longevity

There was no noticeable decline in the freshness of the flowers over the last 6 days, besides 2 dropped alstroemeria blooms. Blooms opened, but still looked fresh. The water was changed out on day 3.

The Bouqs website has information on replanting the succulents once the fresh flowers in the bouquet are no longer display-worthy, but sadly this information wasn’t included or referenced in the papers that shipped with the flowers.

Final Thoughts

This bouquet was a unique combination of pretty basic blooms with a unique showcase flower (in this case, a mounted succulent).

I would not have put this combination together myself, but I love it. It was easy to arrange, a good combination of colors and textures, and the full bouquet is going strong on day 7.

This would be a lovely gift for someone who doesn’t mind, or will even enjoy, arranging flowers themselves. The flowers might not look like much on arrival, wrapped like a grocery store bouquet, but are exactly the right combination and easy to arrange in a vase to turn into something impressive.

To Wrap Up

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes. These flowers are available year round. However, there is a disclaimer on this bouquet that states:

Please Note: While we always try our best to match the bouquet pictured, we remain dedicated to fresh, high-quality flowers. Occasionally substitutions including color variation or supplemental flower type may occur to ensure you receive our farmers’ freshest possible selection.

Due to local restrictions, this Bouq cannot be delivered to Hawaii.

I have trimmed and planted my own succulents. I trimmed, allowed the ends to dry a week then planted in soil with teeny stones in it. It worked and I’m ready to trim the long ones again.
I was surprised at the wilted flowers for the price paid but this is the first review I’ve read. The bouquet was lovely especially with the succulent.
