Love Goodly is a non-toxic and cruelty-free vegan subscription box that sends a mix of 4-5 full-size beautywellness, and lifestyle items every other month for $34.95 (with free shipping). They also offer a VIP subscription for $48.95, which comes with an additional full-size product (or two). Every purchase supports a different cause each month.

This review is for the VIP subscription for $48.95 every other month.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Note to Canadian Customers: "As of October 28, 2022: At this time, we have paused shipping our bi-monthly subscription boxes and prepaid box plans to Canada; however, you can still purchase the Single Essential or Single VIP Box to ship to Canada. Current active Canada customers are not affected."

Inside the August/September 2024 Box

FYI: This review was updated on 8/20/24 to correct a mistaken price indication.

Happy 9th birthday to Love Goodly! To celebrate nine years of clean beauty goodness, they've partnered with Juice Beauty to deliver every LG subscriber their best-selling, top-reviewed face moisturizer, which retails at $70. That exceeds the cost of the Essential, VIP, and Single subscription box prices. Yowza! It's nestled in with a bunch of other great beauty finds, so let's dig in.

Info about each product is listed inside the folded card. Here you'll also find a little about which charity this month's box supports, plus a 15% a discount code for purchases made from their shop. Typically the month's products are available in the Love Goodly shop shop a little after the box launches, so if you need to re-up on a product you fell in love with, it'll be there waiting for you to buy with your 15% discount.

VIP subscribers will receive an extra product, and a separate card describing it. An additional card was sent this month asking for reviews of the previous box. If you leave a review of the June/July box on their website they'll take 15% off your next Love Goodly delivery.

We were also sent a discount code for Juice Beauty. VIP subscribers will find not one but two Juice Beauty items in their box this month, so we're given a taste of what they're all about.

Trust Fund Beauty No Filter Nail Polish, 0.50 fl oz – Retail Value $15

First up this month for all subscribers is a neutral nail polish that's 21-free, nontoxic, vegan, and long-lasting. Being the ancient old lady that I am, I remember when the concept of clean nail polish was new, and the formulas didn't have staying power. Gone are those days! This polish can hang with the rest of 'em—I put two coats on as soon as it arrived, and it dried quickly and has been going strong for nearly a week with no top coat.

As you can see from my few photos of this polish here, it takes on different tones in different lighting. It's neutral to be sure, but it's not at all boring. I actually offered this bottle to my mom immediately when I got it because she wears light pink nail polish almost exclusively...now I'm second-guessing my offer! I really like the light purple, even grey-ish undertones of this color, and am impressed with how long it's staying put.

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizer, 0.5 fl oz – Retail Value $25

Here's the much-anticipated product of the box! This EWG-certified moisturizer features a fruit stem cell blend derived from organic apple buds, grape buds, and lemon bark, infused into organic Resveratrol-rich grape for a boost of antioxidants. It's blended with Jojoba oil, it's organic and vegan and non-toxic, and it's suitable for all skin types. Plus, who doesn't love a pump-top dispenser? This moisturizer is incredibly smooth and creamy, and its bursting lemon scent is such a refreshing awakening in the morning.

Earth Harbor Oasis Deep Pore Gel Cleanser, 2 fl oz – Retail Value $18

I'm forever amazed at how far and wide Earth Harbor's product line spans. This is the second facial cleanser I've received from this brand in recent months (the other one being this Ahoy Love Milky Cleanser from the Hygge Box), so I'm able to do a little comparing, and I will say I prefer this gel cleanser of the two. I felt the milky cleanser dissipated on my skin quickly and that I needed an extra pump or two mid-face-wash to feel like I had enough. This one spreads nicely, and made my skin feel more buffed after rinsing, while still offering a gentle cleanse.

The scent is light and faint, and while this stuff doesn't suds up like some cleansers might, there is substance to it, to be able to work in with your fingers.

Willow Collective Midnight Ember Candle –  Retail Value $15

Oh, I exhale a sigh of relaxation every time I smell this candle. The sandalwood and jasmine combo really works for me. It's soothing in a culture shop sort of way. The amethyst stones pressed into this soy wax candle are a cute touch, and I always love candles that come in a tin or jar that could be reused when the candle is gone.

Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist, 6.75 fl oz – Retail Value $25

For VIP subscribers, there is one more Juice Beauty product in your box. It's this light facial mist meant to tone and hydrate. The key ingredients include organic aloe leaf juice, rose geranium (which you can smell when you spray it on, and it's lovely), and organic ylang ylang (which I don't always love the smell of but it's faint in this formula). This mist is suitable for all skin types and safe for use by children, toddlers, babies, and those who are pregnant. Skincare for all!

Verdict

It was one great product after the next with this month's Love Goodly VIP box. My favorite is a tie between the neutral nail polish and the gel facial cleanser. But there isn't a single item I won't use 'til the last drop.

To Wrap Up

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, sign up today or by September 15 (if supplies last) to receive this box. The October/November 2024 box renews on September 28, 2024.

Value Breakdown: The Love Goodly bi-monthly VIP box costs $48.95 + free US shipping. VIP subscribers received 5 items this month. That breaks down to $8.15 per item. The total retail value inside the VIP box is $143 $98 (updated 8/20/24). Non-VIP subscribers are promised a value of $70+, and I added everything from the regular subscription up to a total of $118 $73 (updated 8/20/24). Edited to add: Love Goodly indicated the anti-wrinkle moisturizer as $70, but its actual retail value is $25. This lessens the wow factor of the value, but it does still deliver above its promised value, and every item is awesome!

I have received their box for years and have discovered some great products. Years ago they would sometimes include jewelry which was fun. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional on their part but the .5oz size retails for $25, it’s the 1.7oz that’s $70.

Gah, you’re so right! I was even on the brand’s site clicking through the different sizes and prices and still missed that. Thanks so much for commenting, I’ve updated the review to reflect the price difference.
