The Mindful Box is a monthly subscription from Mindful Souls, a landing place for those interested in spirituality, personal growth, crystals, and more. Mindful Souls focuses on simplifying and demystifying the concept of spiritual improvement, making it more accessible and understandable for everyone. The Mindful Box is meant as a holistic self-care delivery. Each box contains 6-8 mindful items such as crystals, aromatherapy, and other self-love tools.
The Cost: $39.97 per month + free shipping to the US.
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)
First Impressions
Monthly deliveries come packed in this beautifully branded box. Inside are a bunch of canvas pouches that hold your items. You can preview what's inside them by opening the info pamphlet first, or you can take the path of surprise by peeking in each one. I usually do the latter!
The theme this month is Abundance & Success. The intro inside defines a few commonly used terms in the world of mindfulness, like "manifesting" and "abundance," which is nice context for those exploring these concepts for the first time, and a good reminder to go back to the basics for those who have spent time with them. Everything in this box is meant to be a tool to use toward manifesting your dream life in some way, shape, or form.
It's always worthwhile to stop and spend a moment with the mantra of the month. I find that they often approach topics from uncommon angles. I like that this month has us repeating that "abundance and opportunities come to me in unexpected ways." Just today I was reflecting on putting intention toward not only receiving the support I need in life, but also recognizing it when it's there. The "unexpected ways" bit is delightfully nuanced. And we were also sent a fun sticker, as always!
What's Inside the August 2024 Mindful Souls Box
Palo Santo Stick With Moons
See similar here for $4
Every time a palo santo stick arrives in a subscription I like to acknowledge its origins. The palo santo tree is native to South America, in dry tropical regions. It's very fragrant, not too dissimilar from frankincense in scent, and it's been used for traditional healing and in spiritual ceremonies in indigenous Latin American cultures for many centuries. Though that isn't my culture, I have burnt the aromatic palo santo with reverence and it's an incredibly soothing experience. Here it's suggested to burn it before a meditation or visualization practice or simply as a last step after cleaning your home.
Red Aragonite — Retail Value $23.97
I find red aragonite's columns to be such an intriguing visual. It's breathtaking to hold this rock in my hand and examine it as a natural creation. This is my second piece of red aragonite—the previous one arrived in my first Mindful Box back in December. Then it was presented in the context of being a stabilizing energy, and here it's said to carry the perfect energy for success. I can see those two ideas working hand-in-hand.
Tree of Life Necklace
See similar for $9
The red aragonite isn't the only item that looked familiar to me in this box. In fact, you'll notice a theme. The sticker I received was a repeat from the first box (though it didn't seem worth noting above, as I consider the stickers to be a bonus), as well as this clear quartz pendant necklace wrapped with what appear to be amethyst and jade stones.
Here's a photo of the necklace on. It truly is identical to the one from December. This is my 9th Mindful Box, and I find it odd that this necklace was repeated prior to the 13-month mark, particularly without acknowledgement. I can't imagine anyone desiring two. It could make a pretty gift, but this box isn't generally positioned as a gifting box since each piece comes along with ideas of how the subscriber can use it for their own journey.
Citrine Bracelet
See similar here for $30
Continuing on with the pattern of repeats, this citrine bracelet is very similar (though not identical) to the one that was sent in my first box. In the first one, some of the citrine rocks were a little pointier, and the clasp didn't have size adjustment options. But otherwise it's the same concept.
Very pretty, though!
Snowflake Obsidian Turtle — Retail Value $24.97
Currently on sale for $16.97
Here is the fourth repeat item from the first box. I believe all subscribers receive Mindful Boxes boxes in the same order—so when you sign up, you'll get the first box, and work your way through them from there. So I'm really curious if anyone else has made it to month 9 and noticed mostly repeat items. Maybe that is a representation of Abundance? With that in mind, I have two kids and now they can each claim a snowflake obsidian turtle as their own! In one of the images above I photographed my two turtles side-by-side so you can see they're the same size and stone.
Mindful Souls Jewelry Plate — Estimated Retail Value $12
To break from the trend, our final item is this small trinket dish with the Mindful Souls logo printed on top. It's glossy ceramic and nicely made. I love the fractal lotus and colors. But I don't generally wear or style my home with logos, so I'll likely pass this to a friend.
Verdict
The Cost: $39.97 per month + free shipping to the US.
For the "Abundance & Success" theme of the Mindful Box, we were sent 6 items to wear, hold, and use as we consider this intention. Very unusually for subscription boxes, there were 4 repeat items (5 if you consider the sticker) from my first box, 9 months ago. This box costs $39.97. Most of the items from this box aren't available in the Mindful Souls online shop, which is common. In some cases I used estimated values based on similar products I found elsewhere online; for the trinket dish I estimated a value of $12 based on the going rate for trinket dishes. They all add up to $95.94, which is a higher-than-usual calculated value for this box.

To Wrap Up
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Possibly. Boxes are set up to be sent in a sequence, with varying start points. While this may not be your first box, it may be your second or fourth.
