First Impressions
How cute is the crystal-covered tape that wraps this sturdy box? Such a lovely presentation!
The crystal was carefully packaged: nestled in packing paper and enclosed in bubble wrap. It’s not surprising then, that it arrived in perfect condition.
Enchanted Crystal includes two inserts in their monthly subscription box. The first uses several QR codes to link to various letters on their blog. One links to a letter to new subscribers, another to their Crystal Library and one to the current month’s newsletter.
In the July blog post, Enchanted Crystal talks about their preference for sending natural, untreated crystals. They explain, “Here at Enchanted Crystal we focus on providing only untreated crystals (with some very rare exceptions). We believe in offering natural beauties just as they were formed by the Earth, carrying their purest vibrations and unaltered energy.”The second insert gives the details of July’s star crystal, a Smokey Quartz Cluster. This second insert is wonderful because it gives the background of this fascinating stone. If you lose your insert or you’d like to read it online, the same information can be found in their Crystal Library.
The Crystals
Fire Agate & Icelandic Spar (Bonus Crystals)
Each month, Enchanted Crystal includes a small collection of bonus crystals and stones. I look at these extras as an appetizer; a little taste to get you hungry for more! The bonus crystals I received in this box were three pieces of fire agate and three pieces of clear Icelandic spar.
The fire agate pieces are utterly gorgeous! Unfortunately, Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library doesn’t contain a listing for fire agate, but I was able to find interesting information about the stone elsewhere.
According to The Crystal Council, “Fire agate is more than a visually stunning stone; it's a powerful tool in breaking down mental barriers, aiding in personal development and success. It provides support during challenging times, offering strength, courage, and determination to prioritize what truly matters.”
I’ve received clear Icelandic spar pieces in past boxes but I have them scattered around my other crystals for decoration, so I don’t mind receiving more. According to Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library, “Metaphysically, Icelandic is associated with clarity and insight, helping to clear mental fog and enhance focus. The double refraction effect is said to symbolize the ability to see different perspectives and find balance in life. Icelandic spar is also considered a spiritual amplifier, enhancing one's connection to higher consciousness and aiding in meditation and spiritual practices.”
A great start. Now, on to the main event!
Smokey Quartz Cluster
The main crystal this month is a smokey quartz cluster. The large cluster that I received is both gorgeous and fascinating. I’ve seen smokey quartz before, but never quite like this. I love that this piece looks like it was plucked directly from the Earth. It hasn’t been cut, shaped or colored; it’s naturally beautiful.
Enchanted Crystal explains that, “Smoky quartz (also spelled smokey) is a variety of quartz that gets its distinctive smoky color from thorium radiation during its formation process. Thorium is a naturally occurring radioactive element found in small amounts in the Earth's crust. It emits alpha particles and low-energy gamma radiation as it undergoes radioactive decay. When thorium is present near a growing quartz crystal, the radiation it emits can interact with the crystal lattice structure of quartz, causing the coloration to change resulting in the formation of smoky quartz.”
The Crystal Library adds, “Metaphysically, smoky quartz is known to absorb and transmute negative energies into positive ones, making them excellent tools for clearing and purifying the environment. Smoky quartz is said to facilitate spiritual growth and transformation. They are believed to assist in releasing old patterns, fears, and blockages, promoting personal growth, and helping one embrace change. Smoky quartz is also used for grounding during meditation, allowing individuals to connect with the Earth's energy and deepen their spiritual practice.”
The Verdict
July’s box was absolutely incredible! The smokey quartz crystal cluster is beautiful in a natural, untouched way and the fire agate is the most vibrant shade of orange with such unique patterns visible within it.
If you are interested in crystals, the monthly box is a great place to start your collection. As for the value, considering subscribers receive a large, beautiful crystal (as well as several small bonus ones) and the fact that shipping is included in the $16 cost, I feel that the subscription price is a very good deal.
I’m always excited to see what this box will contain and what beauty and knowledge lie within it!
