This is a review of the $42.00 Crystal Variety Box.
First Impressions
How cute is the crystal covered tape that wraps this sturdy box? Such a lovely presentation!
The crystals were carefully packaged: nestled in sturdy paper and (separately) enclosed in bubble wrap. Unsurprisingly, the crystals arrived in perfect condition!
Enchanted Crystal includes an insert in their variety subscription box. On it are several QR codes that link to various letters on their blog. One links to a letter to new subscribers, another to their Crystal Library and one to the current month’s newsletter.
In the June blog post, Enchanted Crystal talks about Dragon’s Tooth Amethyst, a very popular crystal. Most subscribers received this remarkable crystal.
Enchanted Crystal includes an insert in their variety subscription box that has several QR codes that link to various letters on their blog. One links to a letter to new subscribers, another to their Crystal Library and one to the current month’s newsletter. In the July blog post, Enchanted Crystal talks about their preference for sending natural, untreated crystals. They explain, “Here at Enchanted Crystal we focus on providing only untreated crystals (with some very rare exceptions). We believe in offering natural beauties just as they were formed by the Earth, carrying their purest vibrations and unaltered energy.”
The Crystals
Bonus Crystals - Quartz & Dalmation Jasper
Each month, Enchanted Crystal includes a small collection of bonus crystals and stones in their box. The bonus crystals I received were three pieces of clear quartz and two pieces of dalmation jasper.
The dalmation jasper pieces are unusual looking but beautiful. Unfortunately, Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library doesn’t contain a listing for dalmation jasper, but I was able to find interesting information about the stone elsewhere.
According to The Crystal Council, “The drive that radiates off this crystal is unprecedented. You will almost immediately sense an overwhelming obsession for accomplishing all your dreams. By listening to your inner consciousness and allowing your soul to speak, one will know the way that is most resourceful for them. Dalmatian stone will provide everlasting comfort when dealing with these confusing times.”
I’ve received clear quartz pieces in past boxes but they have such a beautiful shape, and look so nice scattered around my other crystals, that I don’t mind a repeat. According to Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library, “Metaphysically, clear quartz is highly regarded for its amplifying and purifying properties. It is believed to enhance energy, clarity of thought, and spiritual connection. Clear quartz clusters are often used for energy cleansing, meditation, and enhancing the energies of other crystals. Pairing a clear quartz with any other crystal or mineral variety is thought to amplify all the properties together.”
A great start. Now, on to the main event!
Chalcopyrite
The first stone I unwrapped this month was a stunning chunk of Chalcopyrite. I’ve never heard of, or seen, chalcopyrite, but it’s striking. It’s so remarkable that I have to wonder why it isn’t more popular. I see why it’s often referred to as “peacock ore” because the green and blue hues are so vibrant. Add to that the immensely rich gold shimmer and it’s one of the most beautiful raw specimens I’ve ever seen.
According to Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library, “It crystallizes from copper-rich solutions in the presence of iron and sulfur under conditions of high temperature. This process results in the formation of Chalcopyrite’s characteristic brassy yellow color, often tarnished with a unique iridescent patina of greens, blues, and purples when exposed to oxidation.”
The Crystal Library adds that, “On a metaphysical level, chalcopyrite is said to be a stone of creativity and innovation, inspiring new ideas and feelings of joy and positivity. It is believed to enhance one's inner abilities, helping to find lost objects and explore new opportunities, making it perfect for those looking to break through creative blocks or embark on new ventures.”
Peach Selenite Castle
I’ve received peach selenite before, but I love seeing it in this form. Its natural luminance and jaggedness lend itself perfectly to being shaped into a castle.
The Crystal Library explains that, “Selenite is a remarkable mineral and form of gypsum that derives its name from the Greek word for "moon," due to its moon-like glow and luminous appearance. Beyond its metaphysical applications, selenite is valued for its aesthetic appeal and is used in various decorative and ornamental purposes. It is relatively soft and can be easily scratched with a fingernail. This also allows it to be shaped in many different ways such as wands, palm stones, towers, and even unicorn horns.”
Enchanted Crystal adds, “Selenite is prized for its metaphysical properties and is considered a powerful cleansing and purifying crystal. Peach selenite has all the energetic properties of white selenite but it's believed to work closer with the heart chakra, promoting additional healing properties.”
Black Moonstone
This polished piece of black moonstone is the perfect stone to hold in your palm. It’s smooth, shiny and has an inner luminescence that makes it difficult to put down.
According to The Crystal Library, “Black moonstone, also known as larvikite, is a unique variety of feldspar mineral that displays a stunning play of colors against a predominantly dark background. It is formed through a slow cooling process of molten rock deep within the Earth's crust, which allows the minerals within it to align and create the characteristic iridescent effect.”
Enchanted Crystal adds that, metaphysically, “Metaphysically, black moonstone is associated with new beginnings, intuition, and protection. It is believed to harness the energy of the New Moon, symbolizing the start of a new cycle and offering opportunities for growth and transformation. Black moonstone is also associated with manifestation and abundance.”
Green Star Mica
This next stone is green star mica. It’s a variety of mica that is new to me but one that is difficult to forget. The shimmer and shine it possesses is very difficult to capture in photographs. Just know that it’s even lovelier in person.
According to the Crystal Library, “Green star mica, also known as fuchsite, is a mineral that belongs to the mica group. It is formed through a process called metamorphism. When rocks containing aluminum and potassium undergo intense heat and pressure, fuchsite crystals are formed. These crystals have a unique green color, often with a shimmering star-like effect and formation, hence the name "green star mica."
Enchanted Crystal adds, “Much like green lepidolite mica, metaphysically, green star mica combines the properties of mica with the healing energies associated with the color green. It is thought to help release emotional blockages and to enhance spiritual growth, intuition, and connection with nature. The star shape and multiple layering of mica are believed to multiply and extend these properties to fill a room.”
Laterite Quartz Set (Rare)
This is the first time I’ve heard of laterite quartz. The process by which it is created within the Earth is fascinating and the result is stunning. It’s incredibly difficult to capture in photographs, but if you look closely, at just the right angle, you’ll catch a burst of fiery rainbows.
According to the Crystal Library, “As the quartz crystal grows, these environmental changes can result in the dissolution of internal layers, leaving behind a distinctive pattern of cavities and channels within the crystal. These channels often contain traces of the minerals (in this case laterite) that were present in the fluid, adding to the crystal's aesthetic and geological intrigue. The result is a crystal with a stepped, layered look, revealing its internal structure and growth history.”
Enchanted Crystal adds that, “In metaphysical beliefs, laterite quartz is believed to blend the amplifying properties of quartz with the grounding and stabilizing qualities attributed to laterite's earthy components. The complex internal structure of this type of quartz is believed to symbolize the many layers and dimensions of the self, encouraging introspection and the uncovering of deeper truths. Its ability to hold ancient information is thought to make it a tool for wisdom and knowledge, aiding in the understanding of life's complexities and mysteries.”
Patagonia Pink Amethyst Set (New Find, Rare)
Finally, my favorite stone in the July box is a set of Patagonian pink amethyst crystals. Two years ago, one of my first boxes from Enchanted Crystal contained a piece of Patagonian pink amethyst. I completely fell in love with its crystal formations and soft pink hue. At the time, my sister was just starting her crystal collection so I gave it to her. I’ve regretted it ever since. It really has stayed in my mind but I couldn’t bring myself to ask for it back because she fell in love with it, as well. Thanks to Enchanted Crystal, now that I’ve received these two pieces, we are both happy!
According to the Crystal Library, “Patagonia pink amethyst, also known as Rose de France amethyst, is a unique variety of amethyst with a delicate pink hue. It is primarily found in the Patagonia region of Argentina. The formation of Patagonia pink amethyst is similar to other amethyst crystals. It is created through a combination of geological processes involving the presence of iron and other trace elements during the crystal's growth. The pink coloration is thought to be due to the presence of manganese impurities.”
Enchanted Crystal adds, “Metaphysically, Patagonia pink amethyst is associated with soothing and gentle energies. Like most amethyst, it is believed to promote feelings of calmness, emotional healing, and self-love. This crystal is often used to enhance relaxation and reduce stress and anxiety. Patagonia pink amethyst is also associated with promoting a sense of peace and harmony in relationships. It is said to stimulate the heart chakra, encouraging compassion and empathy. Patagonia pink amethyst is considered a versatile and gentle crystal, offering a soothing and nurturing energy to support emotional well-being and spiritual development.”
Hand-Crafted Cloth Grid
Each month, a new grid design is printed onto a sturdy, hand-sewn cloth with water-based, PVC-free ink. The grid came with a QR code with a link to its backstory along with suggestions on how to best use it.
According to the blog post about July’s grid, “Known by some as the "lotus of a thousand petals", it is associated with the "crown chakra" and embodies the infinite nature of consciousness and spiritual enlightenment. The crown chakra, located at the top of the head, functions as the gateway to higher states of awareness and unity, fostering peace and spiritual enlightenment when balanced.”
To get the best use of this grid, Enchanted Crystal explains, “When utilizing this grid, open yourself up to infinite possibilities in crystal placement. There is really no wrong approach, choosing crystals that you connect with, and combining them with charging quartz varieties and cleansing selenite selections can be a great start. Placing selections on the petals and creating circular formations, spirals, and beyond is a stand out approach in this design.”
If you’re fascinated, there is more information on this unique grid in their blog post. I’m so happy that Enchanted Crystal explains each grid. I now have an understanding of their design, the significance behind them as well as how to use them effectively. Thanks to the recent blog posts, I’ve learned that these aren’t just pretty designs on a piece of fabric, the symbols are a link to the history of humankind.
The Verdict
July’s variety box from Enchanted Crystal was another winner. I’m never disappointed with this box! Enchanted Crystal is really good about selecting a good variety of crystals and stones; there’s always going to be (at least) one that captures your heart. For me, this month’s standouts are the Patagonian pink amethyst, the laterite quartz and the (unexpectedly beautiful) chunk of chalcopyrite.
Also, the grid this month is so lovely that I’m framing it. It reminds me of a succulent and I’m a sucker for succulents! So this one will be framed and displayed beside my crystal collection.
I continue to be impressed by the Crystal Library that Enchanted Crystal created and continues to update. The crystals themselves are beautiful, but the story behind them is equally fascinating. As is the explanation of the monthly grid. The more I learn about grids and crystals, the more I realize that I still have a lot to learn and I’m so excited for the journey.
Though I’m still not a firm believer in all of the metaphysical powers attributed to crystals, I really do enjoy admiring and studying them. I love learning about how they’re formed within the Earth, their historical significance and how they’re currently used throughout the world.
I’m always excited to check my mail and see a new box from Enchanted Crystal!
