Opening The Box
As the seasons begin to shift, I find myself using the last drops of several Margot Elena Subscription Box items past—a body butter, a body wash, a tin candle. It's had me feeling more ready than ever for my next batch of dreamy aromatics...and here they are! Let's explore the autumnal curation that was chosen for us.
Our info card has cyanotype-style artwork throughout, and encourages us to "rekindle ambiance, relish hosting, and celebrate autumn" with the items inside. Don't mind if I do. Togetherness is what gets us through the shorter days!
Here's What's Inside
New! TokyoMilk Dark Hypnotic Eau de Parfum, 1.6 fl oz — Retail Value $52
Nothing conjures the moody seasons like the delightfully-vaguely-goth bottle design of the TokyoMilk Dark line. The fragrance notes listed for this one are "Crimson Currant, Cashmere, Spiced Vanilla, Valencia"—and honestly, I'm so amused by fragrance notes that are more a vibe than a specific scent descriptor, but they are always so spot on. As I've said in the past about TokyoMilk Dark parfums, this one is somewhat traditional, cologny with the presence of vanilla. Great for any gender.
Exclusive! TokyoMilk Radiant Gem Tin Candle, 4 oz — Listed Retail Value $16
No candle can carry its scent through my whole home like a Margot Elena candle can, even after it's been extinguished. Just as wonderful are the designs on the label. Through this subscription I know the lemony, amber-ish, floral scent of Radiant Gem, but only we subscribers are treated to it in 4 oz tin candle form. I've worn it on my skin as an eau de parfum thanks to a past box and loved living the day in it, but smelling it in the air is perhaps even better. Its lightness is right for a candle.
TokyoMilk Wishing You Good Fortune, Crows Feet, and Birthday Hoot Signature Greeting Cards — Retail Value $5.50 each
Our trio of greeting cards this month are one "good luck" card and two birthday cards. All three have glittery vintage prints with cheeky phrases on them. They'll go in my stationery drawer, where they'll await the right recipient.
Lollia Imagine Shea Butter Handcreme, 2.7 oz — Retail Value $27
I swear pushing open Margot Elena handcreme boxes has the same level of anticipation as opening a treasure chest. You never know what gorgeous patterns and gilded details await you. This is my first exposure to Lollia Imagine, and it took me by surprise! Given the folky birds printed on the tube, I expected something more rich and cabin-y, but it's actually very light and jaunty, floral but almost coconutty too, like a dewy garden filled with bright, tropical flowers. I'm a fan.
Exclusive! M.E. Happy Home Quited Pot Holder — Listed Retail Value $16
Oh, how pleasing that these special home items are becoming a regular occurrence again! This cotton potholder is printed, quilted, and embroidered—and to top off how beautiful and functional it is, they also hook us up with a baked pear recipe on the back of the tag. The recipe sounds glorious.
Exclusive! M.E. Happy Home Ceramic Measuring Cups — Listed Retail Value $30
To further regale us, they've sent a set of four ceramic measuring cups with their measurements printed in words on the inside of each cup. The set includes 1 cup, 1/2 cup, 1/3 cup, and 1/4 cup measurements. They're a light peachy-pink with floral outers true to the iconic Margot Elena style, and have royal blue trim. If you have one of those to-die-for kitchens with exposed shelves and gorgeous, useful things on display, my goodness, you've got the perfect spot for these cups!
Archive Poet at Heart Shower Gel, 8 fl oz — Retail Value $23
Archive scents lend themselves well to shower gel, as they carry a depth that is welcome in a setting that's ripe for relaxation. "Poet at Heart" is a lavender-rosehip combo, but rooted in a woody foundation that makes it more botanical than over-the-top floral. Love.
Library of Flowers Willow & Water Parfum Crema, 2.5 oz — Retail Value $22
"Willow & Water" is a family favorite, which I know because I keep a "Willow & Water" handcreme in my car, and when I apply it while the whole crew is loaded in, I'm always serenaded with sighs of enjoyment. My husband will comment that it's "just so good" and my girls agree. It's fresh and verdant, it's light and airy and floral in a whimsical sort of way. To have it in this parfum crema means I get to let the layers unfold as I wear it throughout my day, and we all get to delight in the thoughtful complexity of this scent further.

Value Breakdown: This fall Margot Elena Box includes 8 items, which counts the greeting cards all as one. I felt the transitional season of fall was aptly captured by this selection, and I was pleased both by the familiar scents in different fragrance delivery methods, the exclusive items, and the duo of home pieces. I loved it all! Using a combination of retail values and listed values, the total retail value in this box is $202.50. A wonderful value as always.
Key Takeaways
Margot Elena nailed the fall curation, but the standouts for me were the Lollia Imagine Handcreme, the gorgeous ceramic measuring cups, and the Archive Poet at Heart shower gel.
