Inside the October/November 2024 Box
The Love Goodly box always has me marveling at the passage of time. It's my only bi-monthly subscription, and it's amazing how much life can fit into two months between boxes. This delivery is a celebration of fall, welcoming the cozy and crisp season with nourishment, hydration, and a pop of fall color. Let's take a look.
Info about each product is listed inside the folded card. Here you'll also find a little about which charity this month's box supports, plus a 15% a discount code for purchases made from their shop. Typically the month's products are available in the Love Goodly shop shop a little after the box launches, so if you need to re-up on a product you fell in love with, it'll be there waiting for you to buy with your 15% discount.
VIP subscribers will receive an extra product, and a separate card describing it. An additional card was sent this month asking for reviews of the previous box. If you leave a review of the August/September box on their website they'll take 15% off your next Love Goodly delivery.
Bl'eau Hydrating Glacial Moisturizing Eye Cream, 0.5 oz – Retail Value $36
There are so many incredible clean beauty brands out there, and Bl'eau is one that I've loved and then, truthfully, forgotten about. I'm so glad Love Goodly sent this eye cream to bring them back onto my bathroom counter. Every product they make uses enriched, pure, natural Canadian Glacial Oceanic Mineral Water, which is so cool. This eye cream is also blended with coconut oil, shea butter, jojoba oil, peptides, vitamin E, and sodium PCA. Talk about hydration!
This eye cream looks rather ordinary when you pump it out, but its consistency is incredibly silky and smooth. The instructions tell to dab it in dots under your eyes, tapping to stimulate circulation. Then massage in circular motions until it's absorbed. It absorbed quickly but remained velvety for a solid minute, so I kept going because it felt fantastic. This is the first eye cream I feel like I've actually connected with...ever. I'm so pleased because 86% of users have reported reduction in dark circles, and 100% report looking more refreshed and more energetic than before. I'm all for that!
Upcircle Beauty Citrus Blend Face Scrub, 1 fl oz – Retail Value $11
While Love Goodly doesn't necessarily suggest you use all of this box's products in one cohesive beauty routine, you totally could, and I did to try them out. I'm sitting here now typing this in the aftermath of using all in succession and my face feels a-maz-ing. I didn't realize how much my skin needed the depth of this scrub. It contains quality Arabica coffee grounds sourced from artisan coffee shops, and their grit is really effective at buffing and exfoliating.
When you open the jar, a strong scent of coffee comes wafting out—so nice for autumn. But when I rubbed it into my skin, the citrusy lemon verbena came forward with such soothing aromatherapy. When rinsed away, what's left behind is an incredibly nourishing layer of shea butter that takes its time absorbing into the skin. This is one of those products that you can really feel doing its job. I love it.
Freedom Creators Lavish Lemon Hair Oil, 2 fl oz – Retail Value $14
This hair oil has a lavender-lemon scent that smells ridiculously good. The full list of ingredients is avocado oil, grapeseed oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, lavender essential oil, and lemongrass essential oil. It's meant to treat dandruff and a dry scalp, define curls, add moisture, and can even serve as a heat protectant. This sounds so exciting to me, and yet I haven't been able to well up the courage to try it on my very fine, greasy hair. I know there's an argument that when hair is greasy, adding oil can actually help regulate oil production. And yet...and yet!
This hair oil has a beautiful, thick consistency and its aroma is one I would honestly love to dump onto my head just for the smell, but I had decided to pass this along to a friend whose hair craves it more. That is, until my young daughters (ages 6 and 3) had a big curiosity about this potion bottle and wanted to give it a try. Before bed I massaged a few drops into their scalps, and they did get sent off to sleep with very oily hair, but their tiny scalps soaked it up and we washed it out in the morning. Even still, the lovely scent remained, which was such a sweet surprise.
NOVICA Wood Beaded Station Necklace – Retail Value $19.99
The last product that regular subscribers are sent is this handcrafted necklace made from haldu wood and cotton cord. There are three possible colorways this necklace might arrive in (subscribers will be surprised): this reddish one, and other options that appear to be greenish and tan.
The necklace is very lightweight and such a pretty, earthy piece. There are no clasps—it just goes over your head either once or wrapped. It's occurring to me that I could wrap it around my wrist and I might like it even better as a bracelet!
Pink Moon Over the Moon Facial Oil, 1 oz – Retail Value $58
VIP subscribers are sent this nutrient-dense face oil that fits wonderfully in with the routine I had started above. I'll say that the citrus coffee scrub didn't leave my skin feeling in need of extra hydration per se, and were I to use it in the morning, I might leave it at that. But for evening I went ahead and layered this facial oil on top in all its rosey glory.
The oil is rich and substantial, while still gliding on easily without needing too much. The instructions say to place a few drops into the palm of your hand, rub your hands together to warm the oil, then inhale deeply from your hands before massaging into the skin. Oh so soothing—even just the motion and the intention. If you have a gua sha tool you like to use, this oil provides nice slip; I can't seem to keep my gua sha stones in one piece so I don't currently have one. I used the tips of my fingers firmly, and my knuckles, and my skin felt so stimulated by both the massage and the nourishing oils in this bottle. Glorious.
Verdict
Was this my favorite Love Goodly box yet? I reckon it was. I feel that each eco-friendly, non-toxic, cruelty-free, vegan skincare item does what it does extremely well, and that they work together as a skin-awakening ritual that left me so satisfied. It's such a good feeling when you know you'll use each new product 'til the last drop.
